Just got a call from this number. Checked my voicemail and it's a life insurance agent from MetLife.

NEWS FLASH: This is indeed the March of Dimes (they also use 914-294-2543). If you call the number back, you get a recording saying they are sorry they missed you but you can press a number to hear another recording about the March of Dimes. I found their New York office number, 1-914-997-4488. Eventually got the person in charge of these calls. Carol Ziff, 1-914-997-4589. Guaranteed I would be removed PERMANENTLY in 24-hours (or maybe 48-hours. We'll see, but calling, en mass, not only ties up their office phones but puts the message across that we do not like their telemarketing calls. BTW, remember when the March of Dimes' purpose was to wipe out polio. That pretty much ended with the Salk vaccine in 1955. In 1976 they changed their name to March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation. And these days it is pretty much a bureaucracy designed to stay in business with a vague goal of "breakthrough for babies". While legally a "non-profit", I'm going to post this as "telemarketer" since, in reality, that is what they are.

Got a number of calls from 914-294-2395. Hang ups. Called back and got a message that says it's the MOD. Why does my Caller ID just show "Yonkers, NY" then?

I received a phone call this morning some time after 8:00 am - I thought all phone callers were supposed to wait until after 9:00 - Nevertheless, this caller woke us up - we are elderly and I said it would not be possible to participate, and caller continued to push by saying she understood my hesitancy, but........and went on and on.  The number she called from is 1-914-294-2161 which is different from the one above, but everything else matches.  She did identify herself as being from the March of Dimes.  When I tried to call that number back, all I get is a message that all circuits are busy and I have tried multiple times.  It is either a scam or March of Dimes has gone to hell in a hand basket.  They would never have acted this way years ago.

Please stop calling me.  I get a call almost every night.  I am sick and tired of these calls and I do not intend to make any donations to the March of Dimes.

Just like the others have complained about....calls all hours of the day , no one speaks, just hang up. They call from 8:30AM to 9PM so why do they bother to call at all if they hang up?
Irritating and stupid which just ticks everyone off so they won't donate a thing.

Maybe they have equipment failure and they don't know it or don't care!

I googled the number...it is the march of dimes.  I called the number (1-914-740-1890) listened to the message followed the prompt both times and got my number removed....that's how to stop it, although it may take about 30 days for them to do so.

Today this number called me phone 3 times! So this time I picked it up and started yelling to STOP CALLING ME!   It turns out that it's March of Dimes and they are not asking for money - but they are asking if they can send you a package where you ask so many people on your street to donate - she was very nice and was very apologetic and said she would remove my phone number from her list. So we will see.   So if you are getting these annoying calls, simply answer the phone and tell them you do not want to be solicited any longer and hopefully they will be as nice to you as they were to me. I do not know however, where they got my name and phone number as I have an unpublished phone ????

Callers from this number have called my disabled mother, aged 87, from early morning, all day, and until after 9 p.m. for many days.  This is a nuisance and needs to be stopped, but how?  Any advice? It has certainly damaged my impression of MOD.

I keep getting calls from this number often. Also, nobody responds when I say Hello.

I also do not like the multiple calls per day from this MOD #.  Therefore, I followed the advice someone listed above: called back the number 1-914-740-1890, listened then choose option 1 to hear more about MOD, then was given an option to NOT receive calls from them!!!!

I called the number and listened to a very nice machine which 'splained about the wonders of the March of Dimes. Then it offered to remove my number from the list of abusive harassment which I accepted. No calls since! How 'bout that?

The 914-740-1890 according to March of Dimes in California is a scam.  Callers whoever they are, are not associated with this charity.

I have received numerous calls from the March of Dimes as per my caller id with no messages left. I was able to answer their call this last time and simply asked them to remove my number from their calling list. They agreed to do so. Hopefully this works.

Have been receiving several calls per day from them and finally decided to look it up to see who it was and found this forum.  As someone suggested, simply call back the number and you'll get a recorded message asking if you want to hear more about March of Dimes.  Press 1, they'll tell you about the organization, then they give you an option to be removed from their list by pressing 3.  After that, you enter your 10-digit phone number, press 1 to verify, and that's it.

I've been getting calls from March of Dimes, different phone numbers, for about 3 months now - every single day - around 8:30am, 12:30pm & 8:30pm in addition to their usual mail appeals for money.  I used to contribute to this organization, but no more.  Now the Amer Lung Association has started calling me.

Calls multiple times, night and day.   Never leaves a message on the answering machinr

In the past, I accepted a packet to mail out to our neighbors.  Right after I finished, they called back to ask my husband to do it. I have been declining all summer and have asked to be removed from their call list.  And...they are still calling.  All day, all night.  I just declined again and am requesting our number be removed.

Want to stop these calls at all hours 6AM of a Saturday morning for 3 weeks running.

I was getting calls constantly, day and night, from our local march of dimes.  I never answered, so apparently I was turned over to the national organization to continue harassing me.  We get calls all  the time, Sundays, holidays, any time of day, late in the evening, etc.   I will never contribute or help them again.  I have my own charities which we give to regularly and they don't harass us.

I agree, we should obtain the Chairman's home phone, cell phone and office phone, then make a concerted effort to call the Chairman at his residence, home and cell each time a call is received.
