I just got the same thing but now his name is Daniel Armstrong, same message and same email address

crap...  vennjames is who I googled. Currently being drawn into a bogus car wrap money scam.
Says he is working for RockStar.

Any suggestions?

Be careful out there. If you are a seller, there is never a reason you should send/give money to anyone. Also, never go to PayPal via a link. Type the url into the browser yourself with https://, not http://.

I've had the same experience with an amp I'm selling. Seemed too good to be true. So, I Googled mr.jones464 and found this page. Exact same wording. I was suspicious simply because he never said "amp" just "item." Apparently he's changed his game slightly.

I received this same e-mail scam. My mother posted a Craigslist ad for me for a bed frame that I am selling and she received a response from this "person". So she forwarded me the e-mail, and I replied to it. I received a response back in less than 5 mins. I thought was kind of quick. So as I was reading the e-mail, it didn't sound right to me. So I typed Tresvant Brahm in Google, and it gave me a link to this page.
I knew it was a scam after reading the posts.

I advertised a piano on Craigs.  Got an e-mail from Tresvant Brahm and it was the very same senario as with you Nilly.  My reponse was: very unusual not to want to see the piano.  I very uncomfortable first of all with a check to include pick-up and with giving my personal information to someone I do not know.  I'm very glad I checked this website.

I received the same email and provided the information since he didn't ask for anything that wasn't already public information.  What can he possibly access with this information?  How can I prevent having my information compromised?

Given that the exact same so-called "English" response is given time and again, you can bet that this does not originate in the USA. It is probably not even the work or a lone person, but rather some scam sweat shop in some turd world country.
