repeated calls  no one talks when answered

WHY 915-633-9540 KEEP CALL IN ME HOW CAN I STOP THIS

Received call from 915-633-9540 - caller ID indicated "Texas Highway Patrol."  Tried to return the call at 10:40 p.m. - no answer - if this had been the Highway Patrol, SOMEONE would have answered the phone, regardless of the time.  I think it is interesting that earlier posts note that the caller, under a different name, was soliciting for some "police agency" (see the post dated 9/5/2007). More than likely, this is some sort of scam - do not give money to these type of solicitors - state agencies and reputable police organizations typically do not generally directly solicit the public.

This call came through stating he was with Texas HWY Department & was collecting for the HWY patrol.  I had same experience 2 yrs ago and investigated.  My local Police Department and I checked with the state HWY department & found that the collector was a "loose cannon", not a part of the department but stayed in the clear be giving a small amount of what he collected to the department. What happened with the investigation I made was:  Since I didn't know I told him to send me some written matter to read & I would consider a contribution.  A guy came to my door with the package, advising me it was the written matter which he would let me have AFTER I game him my check.  I sent him hiking.  To contribute to TX HWY Patrol, make your contributions directly, not a collector.  TX HWY Dept told me they had no collectors.

Did not answer and they left no message

No msg, just another call from 915-633-9540.

Received a call from "Unk-866-411-4236" on caller ID. No voice msg.

Received a call from "C Hartsfield - 915-633-9540" on caller ID. No voice mail msg.

I just came home to find a call from "C Hartsfield - 915-633-9540" on my caller ID. The caller did not leave a voice mail message.

My caller ID shows a call from "C Hartsfield  915-633-9540 at 8:15 PM 5/7/08".  We did not answer the call and no message was left.

Caller:  C  Hartsfield

No answer from caller.

Sorry about the prior submission.  I was actually referencing the fact that I received two calls, same number different name, both on the same caller ID.  Someone had to manipulate the names:

These are both numbers from El Paso, TX.

I just found piece of legislation that passed stating one could not manipulate caller ID, which they must have done to have two different names show up on the caller ID with the same phone number, "spoofing." Google this:

"H.R. 251: Truth in Caller ID Act of 2007
To amend the Communications Act of 1934 to prohibit manipulation of caller identification information, and for other purposes.

There are actually two numbers that call, caller ID "J Peters 915-633-9540" found to be 2150 Trawood Dr, El Paso, TX 79935, and caller ID "J Edwards 915-633-9872" found to also be 2150 Trawood Dr, El Paso, TX 79935.  Fellow said he was with some police association, and I told him my husband would call him back.  
Am on DO NOT CALL LIST.
Call Blocker does not work on these numbers.
