I called the number back, and got an automated recording telling me that if I wanted to be removed from their call list, to enter my phone number and hit #.  I did; we'll see if it does any good.  By the way, this call came to a phone number < 1 month old, that I haven't given out ANYWHERE except to my parents and girlfriend.

Just like everyone else I am also getting several calls re:my car warranty. I finally called the phone # back and was expecting someone to answer; but instead I got their recording that stated "If you wish your number to be removed from our call list please punch in your phone number and the # sign". I did that so we will see if it works.

Thanks to all that have written in.  I can suggest a partial solution: I've saved this number, and nine others, with the prefix "JUNK", followed with the next numeric sequence: 10 (my tenth number I will not answer).  "Junk..." is a bit long, but most people and my family members realized not to answer anything named, "JUNK..."  After months of not answering these numbers, I can guess which ones haven't called in a long while - I'm getting confident they are due for deletion - but I can wait until my cell phone book gets full.

It just might be very useful this site could provide a, monthly-updated, active list of the TOP TEN most offensive JUNK numbers, then we can pre-save to our phones as "JUNK1-10 and we'll know never to answer them.

I said I am from BBB of NJ and need to speak to an authorised person who can provide me legal corporate business license, location etc.

THEY WERE SCARED and talk to Cristy who was willing to Fax me all papers I requested!

ALL I WANT IS TO GET RID OF THEIR ILLEGAL MARKETING. NOT FOR MYSELF..FOR ALL OF US.

NP - how did you determine the caller was from automotivewarrantysolutions.com?   I would love to file against this number/company, but I want to make sure I am aiming at the right target.  Many thanks for getting this info out!

They have called me everyday for 2 weeks now, I just have hung up, today I tried to get a response and they would not offer and help. I called the number 916-219-8133 to see what was up. Now why do they not give us the same curtesy to vent our probelms to them as the same as we have to hear that crap. Ans then when you get a live person they cannot help you get off the list. Now explain why the Warranty says this will be the last time they call you and they call you everyday. Sounds pretty crooked to me.

They've called several time advising my car warranty is expiring.  On about the third call I finally presed 1 to speak to an agent, with the purpose of finding out what company they were.  They would only tell me they were the Warranty Activation Department

Called at direct work number. Same recording as listed above (multiple calls). I have an old car that I know does not have a warranty. Also, I never give out my work number for things like that. It is definitely not legit!

Was contacted on 03/10/2008 at about 11:00 AM (EDT) on my cell phone from this telephone number.  I listened to the recording and punched the appropriate button to talk to a person so I could get to the bottom of this.  The woman who picked-up asked several vehicle-related questions and then asked for the mileage of the vehicle. I told her it was my wife's vehicle and I didn't know the mileage at that time.  The woman told me to get the current mileage and call back.  Before I could ask for her name (or who I should talk to when I called back), she abruptly hung-up on me.

Was again contacted a few minutes ago on my cell phone, but from a different number this time ((916) 219-8134).  I had quite a few specific questions in mind so I, again, punched the appropriate button to talk to someone.  However, my call was disconnected after about two (2) minutes so I was unable to speak to anyone.

I have decided that ALL of us who have gotten this number have purchased a vehicle in the last year or so.  I'm sure if we polled those who get these calls, that this is the case.  The only culprits in the whole matter is probably the people you have financed the car with.  Did you read the fine print???  It DOES say that your number and info can be used for promotional purposes and that they will give the info to those 3rd party companies.  WELL, I guess we can start putting fake numbers in our applications for financing or the purchase agreements..

I filed a complaint with the FCC as well. I strongly encourage everyone being bothered by these calls to file. The more complaints the better the odds that the FCC will act and close these people down.

They just called me with a new number on the caller ID. The last digit is 6 instead of 4. I can only assume they bought a whole block of numbers from the phone company and are cycling through the numbers as they get discovered.

As I've done a couple of times before, I went ahead and played along. Here is what I've found out from my last two calls:
CALL ONE:
Him: I understand you are interested in extending the warranty on your vehicle.
Me: YES, yes! <--with a senile old man's voice--
Him: What year make and model is your vehicle?
Me: It's...a 1987 Mitsubishi...1987.
Him:What model is that?
Me:Mighty Max (this was a real model by the way)
Him: A what?
Me: A MIGHTY MAX! mighty max that is.
Him:migh...(unintelligible)
Me:yes yes that's it.
Him:uh...you want to get a warranty on an...on that car?
Me: Yes, yes I do very much...I really need one?
Him:what's the mileage on that vehicle, sir?
Me:273,000 miles
Him: ooh, sir we can't warranty that...!
Me:Why not? Why not my nice truck?
Him:SIR, that vehicle has too many miles, we can't warranty that vehicle.
Me:Why not, don't you scam people with old vehicles?<--OOPS!--
Him:SIR, we don't scam anybody here! <--catching on---
Me:...but, but my vehicle....CLICK!
Me:Hello? are you there? I want to play some more...guess you don't a**hole.

RESULT:THEY HAVEN'T CALLED THAT NUMBER AGAIN
I'VE DONE THIS SEVERAL TIMES ON DIFFERENT NUMBERS so I won't bore you with the details of all the calls. But here is the rest of what I've found out:

On another call I imitated an Indian accent. I asked what vehicle they were calling about, because I had 3. Jeff, said that usually they would want the oldest. So I said they were all the same year. I gave him an '89 Mercedes knowing this would be on the old side, but tempting because of its make. When he asked the mileage I said 270k. Too high, THEY ONLY WARRANT VEHICLES UP TO 150,000 MILES. So, I offered a Volvo with 125k miles, same year of course. He went for it and started collecting info from me to pass it to his "WARRANTY SPECIALIST". I gave my name as Vippin Patel from zip 90210. I thought he'd start catching on at that point, but he didn't. I asked if the other guy was the closer for the scam. Still no reaction. I think he couldn't hear too well when someone with a heavy accent is talking. I don't think he started catching on until I commented under my breath to "keep recording, I got him". He put me on hold for his "specialist" and never came back on.

I wonder if they'll ever call that number back, or if they will black-ball yet another one of my numbers?

JEEEFFFF!!!, Jeff from warranty scam, where are you? I miss yanking your chain.

I'm all for a class action that will warn all these mother f***ers. I will create a site and email just for this purpose. We may never collect from these losers, but I bet the phone company will settle just to make it go away and not attract any more regulatory legislation in an election year, when politicians pander to any group.

I've received two calls from different numbers on my cell phone. I didn't answer either but I looked both up and they are apparently for car warranties. Funny, I live in Manhattan; I haven't owned a car in over five years.

To all the people getting this call, do you have your phone number registered with Grand Central or do you own a domain with this number listed as contact number?

Obviously people who are receiving calls from this phone number are internet savvy since we actually search the number on internet as opposed to an average joe. So we must have signed up somewhere on the internet using this number.
