From what I have read, many people are already on the Do Not Call list. But I'm thinking: Isn't the DNC list also a "list"? So maybe don't be on any list.

I guess it doesn't matter. They will call anyway to renew a "warranty" on a car I don't own. (*YAWN*) So much wasted time.

i've been getting calls at least once a day every day for the past few weeks.  It's always an automated messages asking me to renew the warranty on my car.  I chose the option to remove myself from the list, and so far, I haven't gotten any calls... since the 21st. sometimes they block their number though.

Received a call about lowering credit card interest rates.  Did not EVER state a company name, just said hit "9" to talk to a customer service rep about lowering your rate.  I hit "9", and when he got on the line the first thing i said was "what company is this?" and he hung up!  How rude!  I called it back and got an automated system that, once again, did not name a company.  I can only assume this is some kind of identity theft ring or something, right?

The caller ID stated Service Call - #916-219-8137- I received a call stating that some information had been down loaded from my computer.  Caller wanted me to turn on my computer and he would walk me thru the process of protecting my computer. I stated that the phone connection was bad ( thick accent) and I could not understand him, and asked if there was a number I could call him back. He stated he would call me back... he did immediately and I decided if this was really a legitimate call he would leave a message... he did not ... after calling again caller ID stated Service Call with the same 916-219-8137 phone #.  Co-incidentally my phone rang again immediately , but this time the caller id stated - Incoming Call..

Called twice today on a business line. Will not leave a voice mail.

I got a call from 916-219-8137 Dec. 28th. at 2:43 pm.  Just indicated service call on the screen, but left no message.  I don't pick up calls that I don't recognize.  This is one of them.  I am also on the do not call list but it doesn't seem to matter as this is one of many that I have gotten from many different phone numbers from Florida to Arizona to this and more.  Glad to know that I am not the only one going through this.  I keep a list of all the calls for my info only and that helps when it comes to this.  All I can email is that best to have caller id and don't pick up your phone as anyone that knows or needs to get hold of you will leave a message!!

The recorded voice was representing Card Holder Services so I pressed 9 to speak to a live operator to politely tell them I don't have any credit card debt and to give them my brother's number if they were trying to reach him. The guy operating the phone called me an idiot for pressing 9 and also a f***head. I told him that's good holiday spirit and he hung up the phone pissed because I pressed 9 and they're the one's who called me!!!! Unbelievable.... If you are going to solicit someone at the very least be professional, polite and thank them for at least taking the call. Not f-bomb away on someone you called.... Imagine if a child answered the phone???

Called me in the morning and received three second cut off message.  Do not call the number back or attempt to report them to the do not call list by the gov.  These people sound like phishing scam artists who sell your personal information like hot cakes.  Some people are just horrible and these scammers should all be thrown in the slammer.

This is a credit card scam.  First they told me they were called "CardMember Services."  They said they represented a consumer organization to keep people out of debt and offered to lower my interest rates.  The wierd thing was that they knew alot about me:  Name, address, minimum credit card payment, last four digits of my social security number, and available credit.  When I told them I would call my credit card they became frustrated with me and tried to project ignorance on me.  As soon as I hung up on them I called my credit card company and they cancelled my account.

They just called me claiming to be Card Holder Services and they are going to Cancel my credit cards! This is a Phishing scam do not give them any information.

They called me (they are all foreigners) far east accents.  Told me they were some company (couldn't understand the name) and they were collecting on a payday loan from 5 years ago.

Auto-caller begins with recorded announcement telling me I can lower my credit card interest rates... asks me to press nine to speak with an agent.

They asked if I wanted a lower interest rate and to press 9.  I asked who they were with and they said they were customer service for Mastercard, Visa and American Express.  They said they could lower my interest rate if I held more than $3000 in debt and/or had a rate higher than 10%.  I said I didn't and she hung up on me.

Got the call and answered, only heard some kind of dumb music and noone asnwered.  I won't answer it again.

Annoying. I've never owned a new enough car to even qualify for a stupid warranty. Most of my cars have been older than I am. The do not call registry is a joke - look how far back these complaints go and these people are still making the calls. The gov. isn't doing anything to stop them obviously.

Recieve a call from 916.219.8137 today (10.21.09) and in less than 2 minutes received another call.  As normal people do, I'm at work and did not answer my cell phone.  PLEASE stop calling my number!!!

The Do Not Call registry is a joke.  All calls should be made Opt-in, not Opt-out.  The consumer is not protected by these junk callers.

They called me this morning and I asked the representative who did they want to speak with and she hung up, these people are nuts.

Please  report them to the Government Do Not Call Agency. You can do a search online and find the registry easily - then register and report anyone who violates. I am doing it...but alone, I am only one.

Ive been getting calls from this number for over 5 months now.

They say my Auto warranty is going to expire and this is my last warning on every call.

When I push 1 to speak to someone, I got a real person on the phone. I told them to remove me from this callig list, and he hung up on me.

This number has nothing to do with signing up with Comcast, or any other internet/cable provider.  It is merely a coincidence that several of you signed up for Comcast around the time the calls started.  I DO NOT have Comcast, and I receive these calls, both at home and on my wife's cell phone - unrelated carriers.

They actually use the DNC list to get numbers to call, so there is no way to stop the calls.  I would recommend ignoring the calls, rather than calling back and trying to get off of their list, because that just shows they have a valid phone number to call, and then they will distribute your phone number further.

The Government does a lousy job of enforcing the DNC list, and they will not make any effort to shut down this corrupt caller.  DO NOT give ANY name, address, phone number information to them if you actually talk to them.  They will do their best to abuse your info!
