Sometimes it's a debt collector who is cold calling people with the same name in hopes he gets the right one.  I've gotten calls before where they tell me I'm the Rick Smith who owes money to such and such.  When I tell them I'm not, they want my SSN or other info to "prove" I'm not the Rick Smith they want.  No f'n way, man.  I wish there was some way to report those guys.

I have blocked this number, 916-244-2066 so I'm not disturbed but I receive notification of "blocked call" from this number once or twice a day and yes, I'm registered with donotcall.

I just got a call and didn't answer.  No message left.  I too am on the no call list and do not want Dan calling.  Thanks for other posts.

Here is an idea. If the caller is a salesperson keep him or her on  line
As long as possible. Be cooperative. They are on
Commission. But give inaccurate data to
Deprive them of a payday. They are wasting your time
So it is ok to waste theirs. If everone does it
They wont have a payday and neither will their boss

Stupid number called me 2 times in 3 days or so. I dont know ho they are and how they got my number. If they can just die that would be really helpful. I didnt pick up because i dont pick up unknown calls.

Got "missed call" 2 days in a row on our cell phone from this number, no message left. When called back, answered by recording identifying as (something unintelligible) home security.  Gave option to press "2" to be put on no-call list, AND press "3" to CONFIRM.  Haven't  seen that before so I guess with future calls I need to listen afterward to make sure there isn't a "confirm" you need to do also. They get trickier every day!  BTW, we do have all our phones registered at donotcall.gov.

I have received numerous calls from this number, I never answer calls I do not recognize.  Leaves no message.  Very annoying. I am not in credit trouble so it isn't a debt collector.

Just answered a call from this number, Dan from GE Home Security. Conversation didn't get far when I asked him how he got my number when its registered on the donotcall.gov website.  He hung up.
