Just got a voicemail for my ex.. Strong accent, and said they are going to file 3 charges against his social security number. Weird

This number calls me all hrs of the morning. When I called back there wasn't an answer it only rang twice and disconnected.my aunt called and got thru the answered the phone how can I help u. I told him this number keeps calling my nieces phone what is it in reference to he said this is a law office. I said what is the name he said john a best. I laughed and asked what is it in reference to.he hung up on me this person did know the last four of my nieces as but when she asked him for the other digits he told her he couldn't tell her that info.  Whatever these people are tryin to do they need to stop.

I received a call just like this today. It was a message; however I recognize the caller from a previous call. He does get ugly with profanity, he can't speak english well at all and his name is David Walker! PLEASE, REALLY...I checked with my employee they referenced and she had gotten the same message on her phone. This is a SCAM. The above messages speak true in that an attorney's office mails letters; they don't make phone calls. They know better than to leave any information regarding this so-called debt on a voice mail.

cust call my employment place demanding for my information gave name of mark thomas but didnt knew my personal telephone number is a big scam.  call the number back and noone answer and no voicemail message just a beep

I just got a call like that today at 7:54 in the morning. they gave me a number to call and told me that person would give me all the information about a pending lawsuit against me. I called the number back and i man speaking broken english read a statement to me and said he was going to send the police to my job and my house. I asked him what was going on and he prceded to tell me i stoled his clients money and was going to jail. he said he was filling out the papers to have the police come to my job. i asked him for information about this payday loan he is referring to and he called me a thief and hung up on me. I called back several times and he said he wasnt giving me any information and just wait for the officers to come to my job. I asked him to give me the information and be continued saying no. I thank you for posting this because i didnt know what to think after the call this morning. he got ignorant with me and called me a criminal. I am glad I took the time to look up the number.

I had same type of call and they could not tell me from what company i have recieved this supposed loan from. And said they were gonna send police to my job and home and hung up on me. I also have never known a poor english speaking person to have a name like "Mark Thomas". THIS IS DEFINITLEY A SCAM!

Told them I knew it was a scam call and not to call me again. Only hung up for a minute and they called again. I asked if he was learning impaired and restated not to call my number again. That was the last call he made today. We will see what tomorrow brings.

I have been receiving calls all morning long telling me I'm getting sued from this law office and that they will have the police at my place of employment arrest me.  I don't have any payday loans out. So I have no idea why they would be calling me..  This is aggravated.  the callers name is James Luke.  John A Bass or Dass not sure with the broke english.

I received a call on my cell phone with this same number.  He told me he was Stephen Brown and was with the law office of John A. Best.  I knew this was a scam and decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.  There is a lawyer by the name of John A. Best but it isn't in California.  And he is not connected to this at all.  I did call and tell his paralegal that this person was using Mr Best name.  She wasn't surprised.  She said she had received calls from all over telling her the same thing.  Did you know that you can go onto the FCC site and file a formal complaint against this person and number?  I am going to do that plus when this idiot calls back I am going to tell him that I talked with John A. Best office and they are going to pursue criminal and civil charges.  Wonder what he will think about that.  lol

This happened to me today as well

They called this morning claiming to be trying to colled a debt from Cash Advance USA that I had allegedly taken and not paid them back on.  I did not take such a loan.  They would not give me information but said if I did not pay the $3,000 that they would be there with papers to arrest me in two hours.

There was a message on my office voicemail going thru all the same garbage as every other scammer says. His name is David (with a heavy accent difficult to understand) calling from some law office (name muffled of course) telling me not to ignore the call, blah,blah, blah.  This message was left on a Saturday afternoon.  Do you know any lawyers that work on a Saturday afternoon?  Bottom line, these jerks are just downright stupid and they can rot in a very hot place surrounded by rotten payday loaners.  They are a shame and disgrace  to humanity.  Shame on them for trying to scam people, especially around Christmas. They are worthless, lazy bums.

This second phone call got from this law company say there file law suit on me for same loan company and other. For fee that try get out my check account, but because account zero balance in its now try scam out money, but I'm one step head them got my police dept on this and there know already this scam. Don't let get better of your self. I got one last week say there warrant out for arrest and went police found there not warrant out there all because loan fee that could take out my account because zero balance in it not upset with me and try get give money it not going happened.

Received calls from 916-251-9315 both house and cell phones, was unable to understand caller, called number back several times and either fax machine answered or was hung up on.

This is laughable. Message from a guy with a thick Indian accent that claims his name is Dave Anderson. Sounds very legit.

I just recieved a call this morning at 7:54am from 916-251-9315 speaking with very poor english saying they are calling from a law firm and that the minute I get this message to call back blah blah blah. I erased the message.  I know it is a scam because I recognized his voice. This person call me with the same scam earlier this year saying they were going to sue me if I did not pay my payday loan.  I invited him to take me to court. I told him what state and county I lived in also gave him the number. They told me they were sending the police to arrest me.  I asked many times for them to send me any information about the loan they claim they have in the mail or to serve me with court papers.  Well I never got any court papers, never arrested or anything. He tried to get ugly with cursing. I hung up. He called several more times but I never answered again. Now today it starts again. I will wait for my day in court if it ever comes but I will never pay him a dime nor will I return his calls. THIS IS A SCAM.  I am sure it comes from a payday loan company that scams people.  I did scammed me back in september and I lost 30.00 to Vantage loan funding and 30.00 to Your loan funding, I had never heard of these 2 companies before this happened to me.  I did not have a payday loan out with any company. I don't know how they got my info. In november they tried again to scam me. VIP loan shop sent me an email stating that I applied for a loan and they were depositing money into my account. Sure enough the next day I found VIP loan shop had deopsited said money into my account. I went to the bank and had them help me return the money. I closed the account the next day after the money was returned. The next day vantage funding tried to deduct 30.00 from a closed account. The bank denied them the 30.00.  So my conclusion is VIP loan shop, Vantage loan funding and Your loan funding are most likely behind this. These phone calls are to scare you into giving your personal and banking info and to scare you into giving them your money. Any legitimate attorny's office would send you a letter in the mail and if you were going to be sued you would be served court papers by the sherif's department.  Please anyone reading this don't believe them. If you have any doubt talk to some one at your local police department or see a lawyer. Most lawyers will give you a free 30 minute consulation or the fee is very small,  IF THE SCAMMERS ARE READING THIS YOU KNOW WHERE YOU CAN GO.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I am a senior citizen getting threat calls from them saying I have a law suit against me and I didn't call them back, as i know it's a scam and threatening to come to arrest me if I don't respond!  What happened to the days of getting paperwork of a law suit from the court?? Also to the scammers it is senior citizens that you are after, get a real honest job like the rest of us have had to~we are on a limited income to live from day to day.  It is Christmas time, lets celebrate the birth of Christ rather than scamming people who are poor!

CALLED SAWING THEY WERE SUING ME FROM PAYDAY LOAN FROM USACASH ADVANCE

I received a voicemall on my cell saying they was going to sue me so I called them back and when I ask them questions and told them that I was going to call my attorney they hung up on me, I found it very distrubing becasue they knew my last 4 of my social and my last four of my bank account. I reported it to the bank and the police.

Recieved call on my cell and at work asking for my info and saying i have a loan i didnt pay and i am being sued then called my job and left messsages very harrassing.

Just received one at work for another employee.  By the accent, I knew what was going on.  I took the message but won't be passing it on.

I just received a call from them as well at my place of employment. sounds like a scam?
