I was left a voice mail at my work place from an Elizabeth Child, from the Consumer Fraud Division, on 6/13/13.  She stated that she was calling about fraudulent activity connected to my social security # and checking a/c.  I contacted my bank, but, was informed there wasn't any fraudulent activity going on with my checking a/c.  I Googled Ms. Child's number and found out this was a scam.  She left another voice mail a few weeks later, which I ignored.  On 3/20/14, an Inspector Steve Brown called saying he was from LMI Legal Services and was following up on Ms. Child's calls.  He called from 612-223-6959, ext. 718.  He said he was calling regarding an outstanding payday loan.  A different story from Ms. Child's.  I told him I do not have any outstanding loans and to not call me anymore.  I then hung up.  He immediately called back and left a voice mail saying that he was going to serve me with a warrant.  He left a voice mail with my Human Resources Manager at work on 3/24/14 asking how to serve me with a warrant.  My phone rang again at work at 9:32am today, 3/25/24.  I saw it was his number, but I did not want to be harassed again and did not pick up.  He did not leave a message.

Steve Brown called again, on April 24, 2014, from a different number, 916-273-9932, but, this time I had my attorney speak with him via speaker phone.  When my attorney started talking, the guy said he didn?t have my permission to speak with him.  Which was weird.  I told him my attorney had my permission.  He then said did he have my permission.  My attorney nodded to me to say yes.  When my attorney asked him if he spelled his name with a "ph" or "v," he nastily replied, ?anyway you want to spell it.?  My attorney asked Brown to send him whatever paperwork he has regarding a payday loan to his attention.  He said he would via certified mail.  I'm reporting this number as I did with the other numbers to the FTC.  

My husband received a phone call on his cell, he was working and the same thing as above but this guy's name is William and he is not foreign. He had all of my husband's information including his ss # and even our bank number. He claimed he is a debt collector and that we owe almost $3000.00 from two yrs. ago. We have spent the last two days calling these places trying to find out if there is any outstanding loans under his name thinking possibly it is stolen identity and none have any accounts on us. Yes, it is scary what they know and will do! He has threatened to turn it over to the court or whatever they do. He also claimed that they had sent us certified letters three times. I told him we did not have a loan out and we had never received any certified letters! He told my husband that for $900.00 he would take care of it. He said that we had until the weekend!  We have also received calls of the same fashion over the last couple of years but they were from foreigners who could barely speek english. I wish we could sue them for all the stress they have put all of us thru!!  

Recieved threatening phone calls today and voicemail regarding an online loan of apparently 200$  never did this. They have all my info scary these people r such frauds they ruin people's days and lives

I received a phone call from  Kimberly Brown representing Kenneth Brown attorney of law.  No proof of internet loan.  She gave me until 5 pm today to settle.  Same name and phone number as above listed.

I received a very nasty phone call from a very rude Kimberly Brown stating I owed $800.00 for an on internet loan which I never took out a payday loan.
She would not give me any information about the law office she was calling from. She wanted a settlement payment over the phone or else I would go to court.
She would not give me a case number.
Does anyone know who to contact to stop callers like Kimberly Brown?

Yep, just got a call from a belligerent "Kimberly Brown" She yelled and screamed at me bc I told her that I would not confirm nor deny any personal information. I asked her to e-mail or fax me the alleged payday loan that I took out online (which I have never done in my life) she refused.  I told her that there is nothing on my credit report showing these debts from 2010. She replied bc they dont want to nor have to report it. I told her I have never received any letters. She had an old address and I told her that I no longer lived there and asked her to send me another copy. She said that the creditors "are so over that" and that she is not sending me anything. I can either settle or get sued. The paperwork is going out at 5 pm today. She screamed this and more at me then said she was getting off of the phone because she did not want to start an arguement. Too late, lady.

I received a call from them. I have actually received several threatening me and saying that they would be reporting me to authorities if I did not call back as soon as possible. She said her name was Agent Kimberly Brown and I was subject to legal charges.

Received call from kimberly brown state they have my ssn ...subject to court if dont respond .time sensitive matter. i had a loan but paid it off long time ago. called attorney general bout another scam call gonna do same for this one.

They are reporting a bogus loan repayment I had never taken a loan out

Received a call from a Jameil Samples who claimed to be with Westwood Mediation (phone extension 707).  Claimed to have my SSN and birth date.  I didn't allow him the opportunity to give me that information nor did I verify it.  According to Jameil Samples, he was calling to "discuss" a payday loan taken out with Ace Cash Express in 2008.  Not only have I never received a payday loan from them but I called Ace quite some time ago when another "bill collector" tried to get money from me.  I called them thinking maybe my identity had been stolen and someone else got the loan in my name.  Nope!  Ace had no record of a loan to me or anyone pretending to be me.

I've gotten bogus calls in the past from men and women with thick Middle Eastern accents with names like Tom Davis.  Well, they've evolved a bit and now use Americans to do their bidding.  Jameil was African American.  So beware.  The scammers have changed the voices of the lowlifes who call you in an attempt to sound more legit.  Do your research, don't give anyone anything until you know for sure you owe them and this is a current debt.
