Every time I get a call like this I am so thankful, because it reminds me that if they outlaw guns only outlaws will have them! It is already illegal to spam call people like me that are on the do not call list, yet they break the law anyway! So remember when they outlaw our guns only the evil will have them, and you will be standing helplessly while your children and family are?.
Call received this morning from a representative with a foreign accent claiming my computer was infected. I told him it was a scam... he denied it..he then put me on hold and the the line went dead. I called back the number... no answer and then the line went dead... scary... we need an end to these fraudulent people.

I don't know who these people are. I have received three different numbers from these people. One call with unknown name from Sacramento California claiming to be microsoft, one came from Brooklyn NY and and the man name is a John Roswell claiming have issues with microsoft it is sending out error message. i am tried of them calling. I just don't answer the calls.
They have been calling me for over three years and they always have different phone numbers on my caller id. I've even told them that they are a scam and stop calling - he came out and asked me my breast size. I won't repeat what I said. I did tell them that Microsoft is after them and it stopped for a while, but yesterday I received a call at 9:40PM.
I got a call from 916-282-6934. The person claimed himself as a Immigration Officer from Washington DC and asked whether I received a couple of letters related to my legal stay in the US or not. He also scared me that I have entered some information wrongly in my i-94 form while entered into the US. So the officers are on their way to my home and I will be deported to my home country within 15 mins. I found out it is a scam. So I replied back "please send them to my office bcs I am not in my home right now". He hung up the phone.
These people have nothing to do with Microsoft. They want you to set up a remote connection with their computer so they can watch what you do(i.e. log on to your bank). They also want your credit card to "fix" the errors on your system. All of my systems are Linux so I knew from the start it's a scam. Microsoft tech support will never call you unless you've initiated a call to them. I not so politely told him to go out back and pick a banana then rectally insert it.
I got the same call under a different number 000-000-0000 caller listed as Unavailable/ Out Of Area. Indian guy claiming to be from Microsoft I told him he had the wrong number and he said no I have right number and I said no you don't and then I informed him that I knew he was a scammer and that I forwarded him to my local police station and he said Have a Nice Day! I hung up.
Same as above. Guy with an Indian accent, claimed to be calling from Microsoft. Told me I had malware on my computer and he could help remove it if I gave him access to my computer. Yeah, right....
I got a scam call from 916-282-6934. Caller could not speak English well and wanted to talk about internet security threat from the internet sessions what we run throughout computer. I could recongnize it quickly as prank/scam call and I shouoted on him and he cut the call.
We received a call from this number too. My husband was the one who answered and he said the gentleman on the other end had a heavy Indian accent. The guy said we had a bad virus on our windows and that he wanted to help us eliminate it. My husband let him go on (like he was walking him thru a process to get him on our network) and then my husband stopped him and said we don't own a computer, what's this all really about? The guy promptly hung up. Not even a good scammer, actually so bad it's funny.
They called this morning saying that I have been approved for a loan, but they are saying its in my minor sons name. How do I find out how these people got my sons info? And how do I find out who these scammers are that are calling me?
916-282-6934 again and again and I am DNC doesn't that work anymore, of course b****eads don't
comply with any rules
Got a call from this number claiming that he is with microsoft and that they have detected a downloaded file that might be harmful.
Only problem is that my computer wasn't on, so how could they know that.
I hung up after he told me to turn on the computer.
By the way, he was obviously calling from a call center and had a thick East Indian accent.
i just got this call to from that number and eric white scared me to dealth i am so confused
Just received a call from this number. Caller ID says "Out of Area."
Call screening picked up. A woman's voice --- not clear, heavy static -- kept saying, "Hello...Hello... Are you there? ... Hello." Everything else indistinct.
Didn't recognize the number or the voice. Didn't answer.
I never answer any number I don't recognize and sometimes I don't even check to see. If it's important they'll leave a message. And Apple is no better. Microsoft utilizes an open sources protocol which has many advantages for the consumer for example it's compatible with any interface whereas Apple is a "closed" protocol and everything has to be apple based in order to work. Apple would be the operating system of choice for any fascist government simply because you are captive inside the world of "apple"
they claimed my computer was downloading corrupt files and just like everyone else (Charles) with heavy Indian accent
tried to make me do all this stuff on my computer that he was into and showing me the files that were bad. I am just glad I finally hung up on him and did not put in any numbers so he could completely hack m computer and get all my info.
we called the Federal Trade commission who gave me a file number and then told us to report it to the State's Attorney General and give them the file number. Everyone else should do the same. I also gave the claim number to the Do Not Call Registry. The guy claimed to be from something Techno something or other, he did not say Microsoft.
Called and said my computer was hacked and infected. I asked how they knew that and said they were from Microsoft, and made some comment about how they were able to access, but I did not understand what they were saying. I hung up the phone, and have blocked that number.
Stop these scam people now!
We had the same scam today tried on us.
Irritated in Seattle
This number has called me three times in as many days stating they are from The Windows Technical Department. Told them I knew what they were doing and then they would hang up. It's a new day for thievery.
Try looking up "419 scams" in your favorite search engine (named after a Nigerian Law code allegedly intended to combat this kind of confidence scheme). Looks an awful lot like what you are experiencing. If not, perhaps it could be a bottom feeder attempting to relight a debt clock in some new and devious way by getting you to make some form of payment.
If it looks to good to be true, it probably is.
Claimed they where calling from U.S.GRANTS.Saying they will mail me 40,000 dollar
Check, If i pay 3.87 Process fee.?
I get the same call from different numbers, too. One time I did actually fall for it, but it wasn't until then end when I realized that it was a scammer. It freaks me out! My computer system has good anti-virus protection, why would they want to try and sell me something that does the same thing? Be careful. I don't answer the phone when it is unfamiliar numbers, in most cases (except last week one that kept calling I finally answered and it was a local radio guy named Bill Post who is running for office in Oregon). Adding their number to blocked number of my phone provider is useless.
Same, called today, from Windows they said?thanks everyone for reporting. SCAM
I think we have reached the point where we need to do things on our own! Think about it our government is so fat now they can barely keep with each other. The FCC allows blatant rip off info-mercials to be broadcast on TV, do you really think they give a s..t about this?
The NSA is trained beyond control maybe they need to jump in on this! Hell all they need to do is point a few of us in the right direction. I'm not sure about the rest of you but I would love to knock on their door! Knock, knock...who is it? Candygram, pizza...oops you just got knocked the f..k out!
This number keeps calling me and saying my cc is locked and to unlock press1 but nothing happens. I called the number back and it was a different recording each time. I seriously think this is a scam. They are just trying to get info.
