Received a call that stated "we are very concerned for you and will need to speak with you immediately." Received several calls, back to back. I called back after listening to the voicemails. The phone rang 10x and an automated answering service picked up the line. It did not state the name of the business just stated to leave a message. I did not leave a message, however a call was immediately returned. I spoke with a lady and she asked if she could verify information. She them stated that she needed to connect me to a compliance officer. Once on the phone with "Frank Watson" he was able to provide me with very detailed information including : banking institution, previous address, current address, previous employer and social security number. After giving me that information "Frank" stated that I owed $790 immediately or I would need to surrender to authorities or they would come to my residence and detain me this evening. He told me that he would give me an hour to call family to get the money paid. He then offered me to pay 60% and finish the payment within 30 days. Before hanging up he wished me the best and said he wanted me to resolve this issue. If I did not resolve the issue within hours I would be detained on a level 3 felony. I just received the same call from number 9163045606 from Law office of Johnny Best, when i called back they hang up on me. I think this is a scam call maybe for us to get a lawyer that works with those cases ... i dont know

They always call twice before leaving a message and he said that he needs my social security number as well and that I am possibly part of this law suit and if I dont call good luck dealing with this. How presumptious are they about there fake claims. At least they could speak good enough english to leave a better message and maybe without all the other scammers in the backgrolund.
Well he said if he does not hear from me or my attorney so I am going to forward this number and info and page on to them so they can hopefully do something about this.

Received a call at work regarding pay day loans I do not have.  I do not appreciate getting calls at work about
something I do NOT have. He has a heavy Indian accent and is very persistent.

These people called my cell phone claiming they were from Anderson Law Firm.  I did apply online for pay day loans, but I'm current on everything.  They threaten all types of action on me.  When I press for more information they get hostile and rude and hang up.  When I try calling back, they simply hang up on me without even answering with proper identification about what type of company it is.

Kind person, I hear you,  would you please call your Attorney. or better yet, call the Attorney General Office in Sacramento to where these jerks are located. sooner or later these lay breakers  will get caught and get Arrested,

i got to work and was told a frank watson called from the law office of johnny bast from this number and that he wanted me to call his office.  the first time i called after a minute it hung up.  the second time i called they answered the phone about something legislation, but i could not understand the first word because it was static in the phone line. i asked for this frank watson person and they said hold on and the phone hung up.  i tried calling back and it rang and hung up.  this has never happened before, but just like a lot of the other people i have read on here i had put my social in a payday loan online service so this is the only way they could have gotten my number.  the government should just shut down all these payday loan services because once you put in your checking account number who ever else is affiliated with them are going to start taking money out of your account unauthorized, but your bank won't do anything about it because you were the one giving your account information out because they don't do it.  i have had experience with this from somewhere else.  BEWARE OF ONLINE PAYDAY LOANS!

Just recieved 3 three calls from this number.  I told the gentleman Brandon Wright to tell me what this is regarding and he said he had to tell my legal representative, I told him to tell me what it was regarding and I would decide if I need a lawyer.  This Brandon Wright or whoever he is had a very heavy Indian Accent.  Since he refused to answer my questions I hung up on him.  He called back a second time and I gnored the call so he blocked the number and called back from a private number and left me a message stating this was a debt collection regarding a legal matter. He was calling from the law office of John Abar.

I received a message from the man with the heavy accent stating that I was being named in a criminal lawsuit.  When I returned the call I immediately inquired as to the type of company this is.  The man who answered the call repeated the name of the company several times but never stated the "TYPE" of company.  After my 4th request, I informed the man that the message I recieved from their company is ILLEGAL and that the company can be sued for harrassment.  I also stated that, if this is a collection agency, I might be willing to make arrangements. The man then got angry and became belligerent.  I re-stated that their tactics are ILLEGAL and the man responded be making an vulgar comment.

No collection agency has the right to harrass, threaten, or make any other claims beyond the following:

Stating the amount of the debt owed
Request/Demand payment
Make payment arrangements

Making false claims about pending criminal action, cursing, yelling, or making personal threats are all illegal actions and you have the right to do the following:

File a complaint with local/state/federal governing authorities
File a civil lawsuit against the company

DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE ONE THIN DIME...KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!!!

Someone from this number just called and left me a voicemail saying they were from the Law Offices of Johnny Best and that I was being sued and needed to take care of this immediately.  No one ever answers the phone, and there is no voicemail for me to leave a message.  When I looked up this Law Office, all I see is that it is a scam.

He called my job stating he was going to file a suite against me and cause me to losose my job

Called saying they have a summons for me and even left a message with HR department saying they are going to bring me warrant. Jack something, I have called them several months ago and I told them to serve me with papers and have never received anything. Very annoying when they somehow have my work phone, had payday loans in the past but I have taken care of them. I don't know how to stop them from calling, I can't block them on my phone.

Received a call at work from some Indian Guy claiming that there was a lawsuit against my name and social security number. He kept asking me who was my lawyer and tried yo verify my social security number and I hung up. Then he had the nerve to call me back and I asked him how he got my work number and he told me this was the number he had on file for me. So I asked him which has the judgement against me me and he couldn't tell me anything and I cussed him out and he gave me this number to call and when I tried to call it rang and there was no answer. The law firm number he gave me is law offices of John A Best and told me to speak to Dexter Cruz at extension 359. These people have my social work and cellell number how do I stop them from calling and harrasing me.

i just filed a complaint through the ftc for identity theft in relations to the number. they have my social, work address and cell number not to mention my drivers license info and possibly bank account info. pay day advance companies have a habit of selling your info to outsiders. i happen to be in this situation. also have to file a report with the fbi monday.

I am also getting a call from Johnny best very heavy accent, he says there is a charges against my sun and my name, and if i do not call him back i will be arrested, umm for one thing i do not owe money to anyone and there is no charges against me, i have a friend on the police force that is helping me with this. and last time i checked debt collectors do not call you,then send mail. This person or thing really needs to be stopped.

i just got a message from a officer bruce colbert. very fishy message none of it made sense. saying my social number which he had ending last 4 digits was under state investigation. he announced the correct last 4 digits of my social which freaks me out. i do have 1 payday loan and thats it but its current. i to was threatened to be arrested if i did not call back. Does anyone know who they are? has anyone ever been arrested in relation to what they say on your voice mail? my main concern is who do i report this to. local police? district attorney office or fbi? any info asap would be great.

left my phone in the car when i was at work today and this guy called at 830 on a saturday morning claimimg to have a lawsuit on me and my soc number. this is the second phone number to call me with this dumb crap and i went to the local police the first time, maybe i need to do so again.

Someone posted this link on another site, referencing what is likely the same scam. My caller was David Jones, with a very think Indian accent. I'm fairly certain is name is not David Jones.

If you haven't hit a breaking point, and want to mess with the person on the other end of the phone, start telling them they they are violating your rights under the Fair Debt Collections Practice Act (FDCPA), and you are going to file suit against them. You'll probably get a very colorful response. But if they were a TRUE debt collector, they WOULD be violating your rights. Attorney's are included.

A  man that can baely speak english keeps calling me to tell me I have a lawsuit, but wont tell me for what,where and keeps telling me to call certain number for his attorney.. This has to be a scam!

Previously this man called my cell phone multiple times saying that he was with the government and that I had been randomly selected to recieve a $8400 personal grant. Then a few days later they called back saying that the state had filed a lawsuite against me. They also called my job saying the same thing only this time they said dail extension 101 along with the number 916-288-9343. The man has a THICK accent and you cannot understand anything he is saying...I am beginning to get worried and I wish someone would catch these people!!!

i also received 3 phone calls last one  deceided to answer they told me to call their attorney at 9162889343 ext 101 so i tryed and you dont really get anything but a beep i went through this last year now their starting again
i told them they should have their attorney call me  but no answer

i received 2 calls from this number couldnt  understan to much because he hardly  spoke english left message on answering machine saying if i do not ontcat them immedately my papers will walked over to the cout house

I received a message to the same affect on my work voice mail. It was left on Saturday. I love that they end the call with God bless! If someone really had legal actions pending, would they really say that to you? Unfortunatley I have gotten calls of this nature at my work on and off for well over a year. They come in waves. I love when I am hear and I can answer the phone because I mess with them back until they just get mad, cuss me out a little and then eventually hang up. Call me all you want, I know what bills I have and your wasting your time on me, I won't be falling for your little scam! Scum of the earth!!!
