Weird. I just got a call from this number, and I live in North Highlands, CA (where the "916-331's" are typically from). I am looking for work and thought it may be a buisness, as I have offered my resúme, personal info, and phone number to hundreds of places recently. Has anyone else been putting their resume on careerbuilder.com? I missed the call, called back- the number's disconnected. wtf?

Yeah I just got a call from this number on my cell and I live in Virginia Beach, VA...my phone number still begins with 916...crazy I googled it to see if it would come up in yellow pages or something..but nothing. Just all these post about it.

I got a call from this number on 4/17/2008 at 7:42 pm.. same m/o phone number is disconnected..

Recieved a call from 916-331-8864 at 10:28 AM on 04/07/2008. 2 hours later I tried to call the number back, and it said it was disconneted. This is only info I have about the number.

Received call from 916-331-5344 - from a Jacob representing Appraisal One - asking if I did REO appraisals.  I was on the road at the time, so he wanted me to call him back at above number when I was in front of my pc.  Same thing....number not in service.  Ok, so this is weird!!

Looks like this is still going on.. I received a call from this number last night around 6:40PM.  I had just started a night class that I am taking and thus was unable to answer it - normally I would have.  My boyfriend called the number back when we took a break from class and got the disconnected message.

I feel sorry for those that received it late at night!!

I've received several of these calls- all from the same 916 331-8864 caller ID.  The marketing message is about Medical- or something of the sort.  It advises of the options to press for "more information" or to select "do not call."  But regardless of what you press, you are immediately disconnected.

Funny, I'm in the VoIP phone business, and I am familiar with a number of the "tricks of the trade," but I don't know how to go about BUSTING this company.  

It is an automated telemarketing system, obviously not set up correctly, and must be dialing sequentially...which explains why one cell phone might ring immediately following a spouse's cell phone (sequential numbers.)

I recieved a call 6pm 4/15/08,  on my cell phone when i called this number back it was disconnected.

got a call 11:25 04/15/08 I called the number back and it was disconnect. How can this number call me if it is disconnected?

I got phone calls from this number too 916-331-8864 at 6:30 tonight, then on my other line about 15 minutes later.  I guess I should be glad that I didn't get it early in the morning like most of you.

I got two calls from this number today....too weird that so many other people have also.  Wonder if there is more to it?

I got a call from this number around 5pm today. Right afterwards, my sister received a call from the same number. There also seems to be quite a few cases where one family will receive a call on their various phones.

I think this 916.331.8864 caller is pinpointing various accounts, and thus contacting each person within a shared account around the same time.

I got 2 calls,  one at 11:30am on 4/09, and another on 4/10 at 2:38am.
I got the same disconnected crap..sent a text message, about them calling and LEAVING a message...said it couldn't send it...then got a phone cal with MY NAME, IN MY VOICE, with music in the background...

I've received 2 calls from this number.  The last one was this morning at 2:30!  Good thing I ignored it and went back to sleep

I called my phone co (Sprint) to complain.  They told me the phone number belongs to a PacBell customer and is listed as active.  The advice I got from Sprint was to file a police report and then contact their cold trace department for further action.  Oh Yeah, or I can change my phone number......

I got a call this morning at 2:30 a.m. scared the heck out of me; my thought was someone in my family was hurt/killed.  No reply when I said hello.  This is a sick game.  How do we trace this--any ideas?

Yesterday I posted that I recieved this call and called back- disconnected, blah, blah, blah... This morning, at 2:47am I got the call again and the same thing happened. It is a little disconcerting to say the least, and definetly very wierd. What do they stand to gain by calling people in the middle o the night when everyone is sleeping? There-in lies some kind of clue. Again, has anyone posted a resume on careerbuilder.com? Or perhaps offered your personal information recently to any questionable organizations? I think that could narrow it down. I'm trying to get my sleuth on.

I received a phone call from phone number 916.331.8864 around 3am. About 10 minutes later this same number called my house number! What are the odds of that happening? I'll admit it made me concerned enough to call that same number back and it was a disconnected recording.

Both me and my wife had received 2 calls each from the same number. Yesterday it was about 3 30 pm and one cell then the other. Today it was at 3 30 am and both rang at the same time. This is getting tiring. Whichever telephone co is allowing these calls needs to stop them or atleast allow us to call them back.

I received a call from this number at 4:30 this morning, scared the heck out of me!  Glad to know it wasn't anything I should worry about.

Got a call from this number yesterday afternoon but when I called it back it was disconnected. Then it called again this morning at 3:22am... still disconnected. I haven't put my phone number anywhere and google said it was a land line on 12th street in Sacramento...

Me too 3:30am this morning. That is just rude.

Yes, I did, at 5:00 AM in the morning, today!  I am so mad!  I tried callied it back too, but got an operator stating the number is no longer in service.
