What a joke. I wish they would send someone my way.

Got the same call from 9144158706 and was an non English speaking person telling ,e i took a loan and i didn't and stated that i had to pay it back or the police will be picking me up in 2 hours and then hung up on me . i was confused till i seen this post and i really wan to notify this scam .... very upset

Does anyone have a contact number for these people called 916 415 8706 and no answer goes to voicemail ...OMG would love to meet these people in person ...God help us all....God be with us ...

call and said the i own a debt and said they need me to send 995.75 so they would not send the police

I have gotten 2 calls so far from this number. I have had similar calls before. Its a scam. They will try to scare and harass u. Just ignore them.

I also have been receiving calls from these annoying jerks. The voicemail he left today was so unclear I had to laugh.  I can tell you one one thing they don't like it when u fight back with them.  I told them I was reporting them and he asked me if I was in the courthouse now.  I said yes... He slammed the phone and then called back.  In the past I have had a guy answer my phone and just say police department and they hang up quick also.

"Steven Brown from a Law Office"as he claimed called me off this number telling me if I didn't contact him back good luck he'd find me. Read off all my information. Went immidately to police station and filed for identy theft. If any problems with this number go to the police this number is in the computer any more cases with evidence they will track him. It's becoming threats now and harassment. He's trying to get money from people by telling them lies. If he contacts you put a flag on all your information credit bank anything you think he can access... Don't send him money dont trust him. He's a foreigner who can barely even speak the American language!

I received calls from this company too and am reporting them....contacting credit bureaus....and my bank.

This is an absolute and total scam to prey on the gullible and elderly. My dad's girlfriend got a call threatening her with arrest because she owed a debt. First of all our country got rid of debtor prisons sometime around the the 30's or 40's. It's against the law to arrest someone over a debt. I decided to call this number back. An English speaking guy answered the phone Attorney Chris Marshall. When I sternly asked where he was based out of he told me up my mother's a** Mother F#@$er. I'm guessing that it is not a proper way for a lawyer to speak.

I called and told them that I was going to call the FBI and was told that the FBI can "suck my d*** a$$hole" then he hung up....that is one professional attorney's office.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

They just called my work and cell saying the same thing, then i called them back and told them to never call my work number again they hung up on me, when i called back no answer, no voicemail, NOTHING.

I received a call from a guy with an indian accent informing me that I owed a debt of 500.00 and that I had 1 hour to get the money in or that charges would be brought against me. This man had all of my personal infomation and was able to tell me where I worked at and everything. When calling the man back to inform him that I would have my attorny to contact him he then said that I had 15 minutes to have them to call him back. When asking the man his name no name was never given.

Same thing here..they called my cell from a different number last week.  When I told them I knew it was a scam, they said something nasty (couldn't understand, they weren't speaking English), then hung up.  Today, they just called my work number from this 916 number & tried the same line.  Tried to get me to verify my last 4 digits of my ss#.  When I told them I knew it was a scam & had already contacted the Florida Attorney General's office (the first call came from Tampa), he became irate, again spewing something I couldn't understand & hung up.  I had applied for payday loans about a month ago--I'm sure that's where they got all this info from.  I may have to call the AG office now; I did get an email response from them assuring me it was a scam, but I'd like to be able to do a little more.  Like press harrassment charges!

These people called a private line at work. A number which i do not put on anything. They told me that there was a lawsuite against me but was unable to give me any information on the "case" because they "didnt have my file at the moment". I told them that if there was a lawsuite agaist me then i would be waiting to get served and that the conversation was over. The Man on the phone (who barely spoke english) then told me he would get the information for me and that i was to call him back a few seconds after we hung up. I told him that wasnt going to happen and hung up. Not a minute later they called back. I answered heard who it was and hung up. They called again. I politly told them that if they wanted to contact me that they could do it by mail. The man (different man this time) ask for my mailing address. I told him that it would be in "my file" and that he could get it from there. Thats when he yelled and threatend me. He told me if i didnt give him the information then the police were going to come and arrest. I told him id be here waiting and hung up. 8hrs later no more calls and no cops.

Just got a v/m on a sat! From these people talkimg about that i have a lawsuit against me and i need to contact them with my lawyer asap. if i do not return their calls i will be arrested in a few hours... the lady sound like she was indian and harly spoke english she said she wish me luck and sends her blessings??... Did not provide me wth no case number and or court name nor location. i take it its a scam for me to call them back and give personal information.

I got a call from this number saying that I have felony charges against my ss number, it freaked me out at first and I was thinking to myself I've done nothing wrong, I tried to call back got no answer and then takes to a friend and she is getting the same calls...i didn't start getting the casks until I applied for an online payday loan....never got the loan though so its bs and I don't feel like changing my number again....what do I do?

Same thing happened to me and when I called back and he answered he told me the same thing. Then I told him I was going to call the attorney generals office and look into it he said f you you b.....and hung up. I urge every one to call their attorney general when stuff like this happenes

I got a call from this number saying that his name was david johnson also saying that he has a lawsuit in my name. he also said that they will contact my employer and if i get fired they are not liable. it also was an indian accent. i actually talked to him when you ask him what the lawsuit pretains to he dodges the question and says that he does not know he is only the parralegal and he doesnt even use lawyer phrases. if you can talk to him give him hell and ask questions because they dont know how to answer.

Some one from this # called claiming to represent a law office! But they aren't

My fiance got a call from them this morning stating the same with the law suit, they also tried to access our checking account and it got locked up from too many failed attempts this morning since all they need is his social and access code which they have his social. I reported it to the FTC will be leaving soon to report it to the police and have already reported it to the 3 credit reporting agencies.

I received a call at my work and on my cel phone from this number threatening. me with a lawsuit if I didn't pay them within 45 minutes.  I asked for documentation and he refused to supply it. Also the names given were Johnson and the other name David John.  They had very heavy accents and were very hard to understand.  The phone number is 916-415-8706.  They must be stopped.

All this is, is a debt that uncured when you take out a loan and you don't pay it back, but if you pay it back after the due date and its very late, but you still paid you still uncured  late fees that this company tries to collect on and i have a friend that works for the company that know this, and she told me after a year they have to right it off but within that year they try to collect before the years over and they have this team of people that tries to get the late fees back so please please please cuss these motha f****rs out every time that they call and tell them that you will report them to  State's Attorney General and they will stop f****ng with you.

Called my cell several times while I was at work then called my work number where I don't take persona calls and was really rude to me and said I would be arrested. Tried calling the number back with nothing. Couldn't really understand the voicemail he left.

Yea i had like 10 missed calls from this number and 5 voicemails. I couldn't understand the voicemails because of his accent. A few times i answered with my rank and last name because i'm in the military and have very important calls all the time. as soon as I say "SPC Williams, How can i help you?" they hang-up.

I received calls from this number today making all kinds of threats to take me to jail and something about a loan. It kind of scared me because he had the last four digits of my social. And I know i never received an loan so i thought someone had stole my identity. The phone call was very creepy.

I received a phone call from this number today about a lawsuit and having criminal charges found against me early this morning. Something about a loan which i never had and criminal charges being filed against me. I called the number back to see what it was about and when i told the man I'm going to contact the sheriffs office about this issue he was very rude and told me that i will be arrested. I spoke with two different people who both sounded the same I remember one name said it was Dexter

I received the same type of harassing calls this past weekend.  A man with a very thick accent told me that theres a law suit against me.  He told me that if i, or my lawyer, he would download my information to the county court. He went on saying that the fim is not responsible if i loose my employment and concluded with good luck and God Bless!  Wow, what a freaking douche!
