posed as Thomas Mark when answering craigslist ad for $600 wardrobe. Claimed to be in California and was sending a shipping agent for it.  Wanted my paypal account info.  Has very think foriegn accent and phone connection was horrible...most likely not in this country.

This Eddie do the same and with me..to buy my car and pay me with paypal, but i don't understand what he want to do.. Where is the wrong? Can somebody tell me?

"Eddie Lawren" has also contacted me in Auckland, New Zealand wanting to buy an antique dining suite which I posted on wheedle.co.nz.  Thought I would Google this guy and so grateful to everyone for posting warnings on him.

This Eddie Lawren chap is just trying to buy my car, I'm in New Zealand. good thing I Googled his name, same deal as above Paypal etc. etc. he had just joined wheedle.co.nz to do it. he must be getting too well known locally.

I too just got an email from Eddie Lawren about an advert on CL.  Asking me about my car, judging by the ways these posts have gone, I will be expecting him to try the same bs with me.  Its a sad world when people are this dishonest and I do appreciate everyone for making a post to warn others.

Same deal here went by another name tries to say the money is transferred and to western union transfer money. reported to authorities.

Same just happend to us, I have a timeshare posted he sent an email wanting our phone number and texted asking about the furniture I had for sale, then a car and now about the timeshare and then wants to send a shipper to collect it and pay throough paypal.  I sent back that this was a scam and told him that we would only proceed through our closing company and use an escrow account.

I also had "Eddie" respond to a Craigslist posting. Wanted to buy a piece of furniture from me and I asked him to call me and he texted me. I never responded back.

I had the same situation last night.   He used the same names as "anon" above....Eddie and Brian.  He responded to an ad I had on Craigslist for a dinette set.  Wanted me to setup an acct with paypal. So I did.   He said he would send 500 plus 450 for the shipper.  Kept bugging me to check my email for the confrmation it was in my paypal acct.   I had the email (fake) but I refused to do anything without seeing the money show up in my bank acct.  He had been texting and he calls.  This guy had such strong Hispanic accent I could only catch a few words.  In a text he explained he was on an aircraft carrier and we had to do the transaction immediately.  I told him we had to wait 24 hrs.  He became irate.  He finally gave up and texted he was turning me over to the authorities.lol.   Never heard back after I told him Good luck my husband is a US Marshall.

I just dealt with this guy too...Eddie Lawren he said he was...and a guy named Brian Gaines was gonna pick up the item I was about to sell him. Glad I checked here first!

Tony max tried to scam me a few days ago using Craigslist paypal, and asking me to western union money for his shipping agent brian gaines in Las Vegas. That son of a bi***

This same guy tried to scam me. Thank goodness for this site. I always think something is fishy with even the slightest mention of pay pal.

He wanted to buy dental instruments off of craigslist. Wanted to pay with pay pal name is Tony max. Wanted an extra 400$ sent to an "agent" for shipping charges. Sent to last name Gaines in Vegas. Don't do it, I called Pay Pal it's a spoof.

Got the same person wanting to buy our tractor, great that you had this online!!
