I've received a similar message on Nov. 1 just like the rest of you, stating that I should add 'textieflirter01' on Y! Messenger. I can confirm Notgiven's comment on Oct. 19, 2012, that people that do not have Y! Messenger are getting such messages.
From reading the comments it appears that the name 'textieflirter' is given a randomly generated numerical suffix. I'm thinking the account is likely been generated by a system which makes me raise a red flag that this is a scam.
My recommendation, don't reply and delete the message. Block this number in anyway possible, if the caller becomes a nuisance.

Got a text from this number saying:
10/19/12 4:55 PM "hello (my first name) u there? haven't heard from you in a while"
Since I used to live near Sacramento, I text back asking who it was and they replied:
11/12/12 12:35 PM "lol if you want to know who this is u got to addd me on yahoo msnger, my name is textflirter256"
Deleted message after that.

It could never hurt to change your password, but I really don't think they know you have Yahoo. People who don't have Yahoo are getting them, too.
