I received a call from someone stating they were from the State of CA Attorney General's Office Civil & Crime Division.  Firstly, I could not understand anything he said. Secondly, he rattled off personal information that I did not understand how he had it. Thirdly, he read an affidavit listing 3 federal charges that were being brought against me.  Tried to ask who the creditor was and he said "it didn't matter".  Call came from 916-469-8857 and 916-414-8366.

They called from 916-414-8365, 916-414-8366,916-414-8829. Claiming to be from state department and watrent for my arrest unless I pay $963.00 to clear matter..

Scammers I got a call real early this morining from this number 916-244-1385 saying that i had lega charges and needed to call attorney general Brandon Gabriel then called me back and left another number 916-469-1761. Indian guy by the name of Simon Hawk. Asked if I had and attorney i said yes and he hung up.

i just got a call stating that the police was going to be at my office in 20 minutes i told him that i was going to the sheriffs department and he was just staying quiet what do i do in this situation

I got the same phone call with the same area code number 916-905-7020 and he claim he is from the Attorney General ( his name is Brandon Gabriel from Sacramento office ). He calls me about 5 times and I did not pick up my cell phone.  He then, calls my work and my staff calls me to let me know there is an urgent message and I need to call him back before 4pm. I then call him back and he ask me not to ask any questions until he reads all my 3 charges against me.  He sounds like a real Attorney but I had doubt about him.  He gave my case number JE82594 and he threaten me if I don't pay my pay day loan, he will call the sheriff and come to arrest me, I will loose my job, I have to pay for all court fee.   I was so scare, I told I would like to pay but I need to know what company claim I own money.  He told me there are about 500 companies that they do pay day loan on the internet, the name is" Federal Legislation".  When I keep on asking him where is his office, he told me he in Sacramento.  I am so afraid he had all my information but thank god I had credit alert on three credit company.  Let me finish my story, I then after talking to him he told me I own pay loan a total of $963 and plus $10 transaction when I call him back with cash on Tuesday 10/15/13 at 10am and he will instruct me how to send him money.  I then worry went online did research his name and his office in Sacramento and I found out everything about his SCAM.  Thank you for all of your advice.  Oh, yes he sounds like an Indian man and he has a lady as a Alameda County Sheriff calling me as well.  What a team they have .

I did internet searching for personal loans and the next day, I received all kinds of phone call.  I think, all of us consumers need to be careful giving information online. I now learned my lesson.

I received the same call today, well really about 8 calls for me to call the same Mr. Marshall.   He got mad and hung up on me when I asked him to repeat the charges against me and that my attorney may need to discuss this with them.  He said the would come out, arrest me, handcuffs me and take my a** to jail.  This is very worrysome to me that they have info on me!

This number called with that same story... They call and if you dont answer the leave voice mails saying you have a warrant for arrest i had about 12 voice mails untill i finally decided to pick up the phone and see what was going on. This Indian guy said he was an attorney from  "law firm" that there was a law suit under my name and SSN and that i owe $$$$ I told him to give me his address so i could go see what was happening he said i couldnt go to him he said the only thing i could do was to pay half of the amount i "owed" if not he was going to send the police out in 20 min to arrest me. So i kept asking him who he was and he said "quit acting like you dont know who i am i told you i am from a law firm on your law suit" (indian accent) i said i did not owe anyone any $$ he said "OK WELL IM SENDING THE POLICE TO YOUR HOUSE RIGHT NOW" (he started screaming at me) i kept trying to get information out of him so i could report them! I asked so were do i pay? he said go to the nearest Western Union (really Indian guy) i said ok il call you when im there. He said no take the phone with you while you get there you have to stay on the phone with me i said but im using me house phone i cant do that he said " YOUR SILLY EVERYONE IN THE US HAS A CELL PHONE YOU ARE MAKING SILLY EXCUSSES IM SENDING THE POLICE OVER RIGHT NOW" (screaming) I said no its ok i just came to the police station let me give the phone to the officer so you can tell him whats going on and he can arrest me! (i was still at home watching TV)&& Guess what? The Indian Guy hung up of course!!! and since that day i havent recived any calls!!! :)

So ok I have been getting calls from all these crazy numbers And I never answer them. Today they left a voicemail sayi g that I'm in trouble with my ssn and if I did not call back within a hr legal action would be taken. So I call and the man that I spoke with was named Brandon Gabriel. He told me he was from the state attourney office that I had a debt of 540 dollars a d if I did not pay within a hour they were issuing a warrant. I was told an officer would show up to my house or my job and I would have to fight it in court. When I was asking for info to pay it and who was I speaking with he was very rude and short answering me. Tired to give me as little info as possible. I continued to play along and he told me that they were not trusting me to pay the debt and that I needed to go to cvs, Walgreens, or Walmart put him on speaker and they would GI e the clerk the info for payment. I told him I would call when I had the money. I called my mother instead, so she called him from an untraceable number a d he was asking for her ssn and she lied and said she was and illegal immagrant he sucked his teeth got mad and hung up. Needless to say after the scare I told the guy I knew this was a scam and if be ever called me again the police would be knocking in his door. SCAM SCAM SCAM PLZ BEWEAR!!

I got the same call, same story, same number name Darran Rogers.
I also got a call from an "Officer Smith" with a broken English, Indian accent. told me he would be making sure they pick me up at - called out my address- if I didn't call him about my "case".   I called the number and it was an international number.  I hung up.  It is scary that they have all this info.

I have had several calls fron Sean Archer stating he is with the State Attorney General office fro this number also. they are very threatening calls. He has my social, banking information and says that I will have to go to court unless I send $. Says that criminal fraud charges will be filed.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

He keeps calling one of our employees at our office stating he is with the State Attorney office, Very RUDE and Very hard to understand "Michael Harris" was his name this time.  But he threatens who ever answers the phone about getting them in trouble as well.  I told him the person he is calling doesn't even come in to the office, he goes right to the job site and I couldn't get a message to him.  I asked what State he was calling from, I knew damn well it wasn't Michigan from the area code, but he would just keep saying State Attorney office,  He has called before stating he's from California.  Make this A.Hole stop this crap!!!

I got the same message today. I called back and told him not to call my work number. He said his name was Kevin Johnson and he called me from 1-916-243-5547. Very heavy Indian accent, and I also heard noise in the back ground. I called once I got out of work and when this guy answered he told me that he had papers in front of him, but first he asked if I had a lawyer and I asked why would I need a lawyer. He kept asking if I wanted him to read the "affidavit" (spelling ?) and I said I was just going to call a laywer and he called me a something something criminal. Ha, calling me a criminal and he was the one trying to scam me. It ticks me off he has my information.

caller said his name was JOhn or Sean ARcher(broken indian accent) asking for someone else and even gave their social security Number/ wow...how'd they get this persons' social... very scarey.... what's worse is they got really rude with me and i was just returning the call left on MY phone...

This fool from a number 1-916-243-5547 keeps calling my work line I told him to stop calling and he keeps calling me saying that he is legit and whatever anyone is saying is not true.  Does he think im stupid or what!! I see all of this messages from different people and see the number that he gave me to call which was 1-916-500-4351 and ask for a Edward Marshall. Till now he doesn't want to stop calling and now calling me every 5 seconds.  He is calling now from a block number. Irritated now he lucky he far away!!

I received a call from James Lester stating he is calling from the State Attorney General Office, ph# 916.500.4351.  Mr. Lester said that there was a claim filed against my ssn# and I told him not to call my number again and that I don't owe any money.  This fool called my number 6 more times and I wouldn't answer. Finally, my mom answered my phone and the man asked what her name was and she told him honey bun and he hung up and did not call my number no more.....

I have been receiving calls from this number for over a week now. Its a man's voice and I can't understand his name, saying that he is calling from the State Attorney General Office. He said that I need to call them back right away or I will be sorry. He is also calling my job trying to get information about me. I just want the harassing phone calls to stop.

i have been receiving calls also for the last past two days from the same number of 916-500-4351 claiming that they were going to arrest me and there was a lawsuit against me.  I ask them all the information like dates and they said it was a cash advance.  I told them i don't do those and they couldn't give me any dates.  They cussed me out and called me a "female dog" and all other types of words.  I advised them that the police was tracing their phone calls and would be on the way to their location if they kept calling me and harassing me on my job.

I just received a call from someone claiming to be Mr. McCoy - with a thick Indian accent - claimed he was from the State Attorney General - and if I did not call him back he would start criminal proceedings against me - I have not returned the call however I did put a call into the real Attorney General Office Internet Fraud - I am not comfortable with the fact he has the last four digits of my social security number - these are scammers

Someone from this number is calling my call center asking for one of our employees and stating they are from the state's attorney's office insisting on speaking to an employee by name.  The call center has attempted to forward them to me as the employee's supervisor and they hang up.  What a scam.  It makes me very angry that they can harass my staff that way through our company's phone number.

I received a phone called from some Indian guy saying I have outstanding debt and the Attorney General is suing me over this matter and he said I had stolen money deposit into my bank account I don't have a bank account and when I question him on it he got very upset and hung on me, So I called him back with my attorney and now they don't know who I am, This is a SCAM do not send them any money, This worries me he had my job name my soc sec number I don't like this at all.

got the same call attorney generals office, then called my place of work saying they were from the social security office.
um number is nether registered to state of California or the u.s. government.
do not find the name  under ether employee list of these agencies
i filed complaints in two states and with the social security office.

Got the same broken English call from 480-381-8025 instructing me to call 916-500-4351.   It is an absolute scam.  FYI 916 is a California area code, 480 is an arizona area code.  Do not listen to those scammers and do not send them money!

I  also received a phone call today from 916.500.4351 man threatening me saying he is gonna contact my employer.  I told him not to call my number again and he hung up on me.  Scammers
