You know that you have the option to put your student load into deferment. You wont have to make any payments for up to a year or so.  I did it two years in a row.

also if a bad creditor doesn't like what u tell them they will put your number in some calling list and blow up your cell phone.  So no pay them and they won't put your number on a voip data list. so in conclusion do not answer your phone for anyone your not sure of.  oh boy they got me good but I have learned

this is what they do they wait till you answer and ask you a stupid name and then you say wrong number and hang up and then they blow up your cell with a bunch of different number.  I have figured out their game. So no answer and check the number them block them and they slow down calling you phone until it stops or you can just change your number and it will completely stop.

I get this call everyday and night. Please, tell me what I can do to stop it.

it is EDMC education management i believe they collect student loans

They call and initially refuse to identify themselves. After refusing to communicate with them until they identify themselves they claim to be ECMC. My wife contacted the folks who hold her student loans and confirmed they're still in good standing on deferal. NOT in collections. Very strong likelyhood the group is a skam.

1-916-526-6400 called last week and this week, looking for my Dad.  Apparently, a guy called "Brandon" is the only guy you'd get to if you call back.  He claimed he has some "school matters" that are "confidential" so he had to speak to my Dad personally.  My Dad has nothing concerning school (he's not enrolled in school of any sort).

If you call that number back, the only person you'd get to is a guy, who keeps on asking for your social security number and tells you your call may be monitored for some training purpose.  At the end, he said he was some collecting company, which had just proved that it wasn't any school related stuff.

VISA hired prison workers to do their calling for them years back and had scheme issues later.  This could be one of those.  Or just a very persistent schemer.  But a call from this number is definitely a scheming call.

There's no such thing as a new phone number.  Your new number was someone else's number, possibly as recently as 4 weeks ago.  Your pests are looking for the person who had that number before you got it.

I just got a new cell phone and only three people know the number.  Suddenly, I have a call from this number at least everyday and sometimes more.  Every time I open the phone there are "x missing calls".  It's annoying and time-consuming to delete them, and I certainly don't intend to answer or return these calls.  What a waste.

I called 800-367-1589 and explained that the person they were looking for was not at my phone number. They removed me from the call list.

916 526 6400 calls EVERY DAY. I have never even given my number out to anyone and have only had the phone a few days, but they began calling almost immediately after activating the number. My cell is a new purchase, but I'm thinking the  # may have been used before I got it. Bummmmmmmmmer!

I keep getting calls from 916-526-6400 and my caller ID says the number belongs to a company named ECMC. When I answer no one replys back to me. I think this is an education loan company.

I get a call from this number just about everyday, and multiple times a day (most days). It is very annoying and they never leave a message and if I answer it no one ever says a thing and then it cuts off. Its harassment.

I don't answer unknown calls but they call 2-3 times a day for the past week and never leave a message.

Yes I have been getting calls from this number and it is nerve wrecking. I tried to block them on my cell phone because that is the number they call.  They never leave a message.

This company is ECMC and they call about student loans.  The calls may be about already paid loans or loans forgiven by the government due to previous government service or a school that closed.  They buy student loans from other companies and the records are not kept properly and thus they think they can collect on a loan forgiven over 10 years ago.  If you are being abused by these people, contact a lawyer, it won't be the first time they have gone to court for illegal debt collecting practices.

Jeezzz i'm 2 months behind in my student loan of 60 bucks a month and these a***oles want to blast my phone every f****ng day.  I just lost my home and had to move and they take it out of my bank acct for crying out loud its not like im going anywhere or hiding.  You would think the f****ng goverment would cut me some slack i owe 8,000 again i'm not going anywhere....get off my back and stop harrassing me 20 times a day run my credit card till you get your f****ng money...and to make things worse the school sucked an now i'm having to pay for the worst mistake of my life....live and learn ...

They want your social number. I do not give my social to any one on the phone. Trying to collect for a student loan. I do not have any student loans never have had a loan.
