This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I got a voicemail from this number. They told me they had a time sensitive matter that I needed to call about. They said if I did not return the call or hear from my attorney all they could do is "wish me good luck as this situation unfolds upon me". My boyfriend called the number back and it rang for awhile then just beeped really loud. The voicemail was very threatening and a little creepy!

Keep getting calls from this number.Who are they? Sound possibly indian decent. Wants me to call or have my attorney to call. saying if I don't respond I'm bringing this on myself - and they wish me good luck.

Some guy called with a VERY heavy Indian/Middle Eastern accent demanding that I hand the phone over to some woman I don't know. Told him he has the wrong number and to remove me from their list, then he started threatening me that I'm going to be arrested and blah blah blah.

Received several calls and yesterday morning was told I had 30 or 35 minutes to resolve this matter or else i would be picked up at my job on Monday from my local sherriff's office.  1.  it was 7:22 am EST time on a Saturday morning.  2.  caller name david cooper says i will be arrested in the state of NY then flown to CA to be arrested there.  3.  He couldn't tell me the exact name of the company that I borrowed from. 4.  It was very hard to understand both gentlemen who called.  The other guys name is Steve Ellis who originally called my work number from 9165387239 told me to call David Cooper back in 10minutes on the same number, I was like, let me talk to him now and he hestitated and then said he is with a client.  This is unbelievable and for $700 that i fully intended to make a payment arrangements on I was in shock for reciving his type of call.  It has only been a couple of pay periods that i missd and I haven't received any emails or calls from the actual company that I even borrowed from.  I intend to call them first thing Monday morning.

Hay listen to what I m telling you guys on these 2 pages of similiar compliants such as I ve had a family member do the same as you told me same story. Voip is voice over ip its unlimited calling features anywear in us like magic check but it has different applacations if you wanna investgate it its on you tube videost links up to a pc land line and cell phone apps as well. If you apply for a loan with a loan company and its not having a S in ip adrdess it s not a secure web site. Meanig info is avaiable to any view that wants it . So if I was in lets say inda and i used the sever re rounting the ip adrees to lets saySacramento cali it would appear to be a law firm, but when d****head has your ssn and b day date incorrect then ya red flags would go off. As i ve seen with 99.9 percent of the time you ld be scared or a little pissed. Some of you people do apply for small loans on web not realizing that some sites are fakle they are a scam so majority of your personal info is being posted. With voip its simple if i get a email saying hay tom so and so is need a loan lets say for 5,000, the web page he s is on sends him a eletronic e mail to alert him of your personsal in fo . I recieved a phone call today from 916-538-7239. When I answered the phone, a man with a foreign Nigerian accent asked who I was. After I verified my name he said,"You know you are being sued." I attempted to ask him for what and all he kept saying was "Lady, Listen to me. Quit asking questions. Listen to me." I wanted to know by who I was being sued, how much and where the office was located at. This man said "I can not give you that information. I can only tell you that I am calling from Sacramento CA and that you need to call David Cooper as soon as possible. He gave me David Cooper's phone number and when I put it into my phone, it was the same exact number that this man called from! 916-538-7239. I tried calling the number like 6 times. No answer. About a half hour later this same guy calls me back and is ruder now then before because I haven't talked to "David Cooper". I said "How am I suppossed to talk to him when he won't answer the phone?" Now I have to say that my language got foul after that and that isn't my character but don't ever call me up and then tell me to "Listen" to you and not be able to speak or ask questions!! I called the number again and David Cooper answers. The first thing out of his mouth is "Don't ever use profane language with my employees ever again. Do you know who you are speaking too?" Before I had a chance to say anything, he hung up. My theory is that he was listening to all the previous conversations. I have contacted Verizon Wireless and have had the number blocked from my phone but I am wondering if I should contact the police because they did say the last four numbers of my social security number.

I recieved a similar message only mine was a little more graphic. I was told that I would be gutted like a dog if I did not provide them with a payment and then went on to say that he would not mind some sexually explicit pictures of underage girls if I wanted to avoid this llegal matter. Creepy!!!!

Calls at work from Steven Ellis from some law firm about a legal matter that was an emergency.  I asked them to send me something in writing, and they said that did not have it; that it was all with the court.

Bulls***.  If they call again, I am forwarding them directly to the police.

I received a call this morning at 7 am est  - mind you its like 3 am California time  - Telling me this is my last message and i have 4 hours to return there call or my info was going to the state court and i will be arrested by my local police.. Any idea who these idiots are. Then i get to work and i have the same message on my voice mail.

Do what i did with these scamming pices of crap , when the phone rings with this number answer it with this when they say say hello , you then say " HELLO , FBI INTERNET FRAUD DEPT , HOW MAY I HELP YOU ? DO YOU HAVE A PHONE NUMBER TO BE TRACED ? " they soon hang up quickly.

i received a call from them this morning the guy was very rude saying that i owed more than 450.00 that had to be paid or i would be arrested. i called my bank and let them know what was going on she called them to verify the guy was rude to her and called me back talking trash saying dont have my people calling them and get them there money but he would never answer any of my questions. they need to be stop cause i was really going crazy

I had the same message, and they said they were going to arrest me, and they would not stop, until I was ruined.  He called twice and said to wish me the best of luck, because I was going to jail.  I have never been in jail little loan arrested or a ticket.

I received the same message Friday at 7:47 Am, and indicated that I would be arrested if I did not Pay him with a Blue Bird credit card from WalMart. He called back again and left a message indicating that the best he could do was wish me good luck, as I was going to jail and he was going to ruin my life.

Called my number looking for my daughter and said she owed $720.00 for a cash advance that she didn't do and also said if she didn't pay $300.00 they would arrest her and they kept calling all day Wednesday and Thursday and 6 times today and warned when we didn't answer the phone said they were sending the police to arrest her tomorrow, I agree they need to be stopped!!!!!!

They are very rude. One said his name was David Wright. He called me a "mutherfucker" and then asked what am I going to do about it. He keeps calling for a coworker of mine all day everyday. This is ridiculous, and something definitely needs to be done. Why can't the police figure it out, I bet if it was a kidnapper calling from this number the police would be trying a little harder to find out who is was!! Pissed to the maxx right now.

I just recieved the same phone call and was almost ready  to try and get the money to pay them. What he could not tell me was where the charge was coming from. He told me that mark victor was my attorney but Max was able to assist me and read me the "affidavit " over the phone. he gave me 2 options which was to pay with in 45 mins or my case was going to be downloaded and nothing else he could do. Good thing my sister has a background in law and  called to find out more details as i was a bit scared at what he had told me. When he told my sister her questions were stupid she knew at that point no professional attorney would speak to anyone that way. She confronted him  to tell him it was a scam and he has already called me back stating i do not have to pay but he will see me in court and for me to bring "that lady with me" after reading all the complaints and similar threats i doubt i will be seeing him in court. i hope these people get stopped soon, Life is tough enough without these type of threats.

I recieved a call today at work that I had a case against me. It wasnt and english speaking person and was hard to understand what they were saying but something about a subpena being sent to my house and I dont have a clue what he is talking about how do i go about reporting these people.

I recieved a phone call from this number.  I could not understand the caller.  Something about a fraud dept and they had been watching my emails or to that effect and detected money going to my account very difficult to understand.  They said I would recieve papers this afternoon and be arrested tomorrow.
