I received a call yesterday from an Indian man saying he needed my attorney's number because they had a lawsuit against my social security number. I asked what the case was regarding he couldn't tell me all he said was attorney Brandon Gabriel. The call came from a (961)426-6621. And that wasn't even the attorney's number that was a different number. It was another number. They called me yesterday 6 times and now they have called today already at 7am. I was so nervous and scared but ready your post it makes me feel better knowing this is all bs. Thanks for all your comments

If everyone who is being harassed by the caller(s) from 916-542-0705 return the call multiple times, they may eventually stop calling you.  In other words, reciprocate their behavior.  Best not to use your cell or land line phone; so use a VOIP item like magicJack or some other similar product/service.  By the way, when a person answers, just be silent - say nothing - until they hangup, then immediately call again.  Maybe they will begin to see how we feel.

I received MULTIPLE phone calls from the same Indian speaking man both on my cell phone and my work phone. Even after the H.R. rep told him I did not work there anymore. He kept telling me to call a J. Belowski at 916-542-0705 ext 5620 in one hour, and if I didn't they would initiate the warrant for my arrest. That was the RED FLAG right there! NO ONE CALLS AND TELLS YOU THERE IS A WARRANT OUT OR BEING ISSUED FOR YOUR ARREST!!! I just ignore the calls now because it really is annoying listening to him!

IF he is legit, then he's just a typical bill collector trying to scare me, but if I don't have the money to pay it, guess what, keep calling buddy!

I just got a call from a indian accented man claiming to be attorney Brandon Gabriel.  He claimed to be from the Civil and Client Division in the state of California. Gave me a case number and read me the riot act of all the charges that was filed against me. Saying that I owe a company named Federal Legislation $963.00.  Refused to answer any of my questions and hung up on me after I yelled at him. I called back, the no accent woman answered and gave me an address which sounded to be the correct court house which can be found online.  But after refusing to follow their directions and threatening to call the Attorney Generals office they now have blocked my phone.  I did look up my name and SSN and supposedly case # online with the CA courts and there is NOTHING.  So I do believe this to be a SCAM however I am still Contacting the attorney general of CA to report this fraud.
BTW: This person (s) doing the scamming probably got our personal information from a loan company or a referral company that deals with payday loans.  BEWARE!!!

Got a call from them this am and they claimed to be from the Sacramento CA Attorney General's office.  The one lady I spoke with told me to "go f yourself b" and laughed before hanging up.

I'm sure your real state AG would be quite annoyed by these thugs "borrowing" the office title.

These fools just called my office claiming to be with the Attorney General's office. Inquired if I have an attorney, "why do I need one?" I can not tell you if you do or not, or why other than there are charges against you. "Ok, send me a validation letter of why you are contacting me and we'll go from there. No ma'am, I can not, are these the last four #'s of ur ss#? "Before you say the numbers I wouldnt let you kno"w either way.This is my place of employment do not call this number again." Just know these clowns are calling from overseas and they are bottom-feeder debt collectors who will try to trick you into giving up any information that they dont have & convince you to pay or you will be arrested. They will tell you someone will be at your home or place of employment in a few hours...really? Think rationally about that statement, when you are going to be served with any kind of papers or be arrested, do the officers or servers call you and give you a heads-up? NOPE! Do not fall for this

I received the same call today. In doing research, this is completely illegal and there are recent claims filed through the Federal Trade Commission (ftc.org). I am submitting a claim through the online process as well as having filed a claim with the FCC.

These people call my job every hour telling me that I owe a cash advance and if I didn't pay 1000 dollars  back I would be arrested. after pissing them off they continue to call my job as well as my cell every hour.  Something needs to be done about these people calling and harassing you on and off your job.

remove all your information like your numbers email accounts and anything you signed up for on the internet its all a scam they get your info from online accounts

Same thing happened to me today.  Guy with an accent called.  Left messages saying I had to call him back this second.  He's with the state's attorney's office and an arrest warrant was going to be issued and someone will be sent to my house to arrest me.  He said he has my social, read off the last four digits which was actually my social.  Does anyone know how to stop the calls or stop this person from doing the same thing to other people?

Same thing just happened to me. Called my cell number consecutively five times. I was not able to answer. The first and second message said I had to call back the second I got the call for a very serious matter.  The last message stated the same thing but in this one he said he was with the States Attorneys office.  Did not leave a name or say what he was calling about.

I am going through the same thing. Its a Voice over IP call so they may not even be in America. Its ridiculous.

These people are completely nuts!  They keep calling our office for someone that doesn't even work here.  The same Indian man calls with a different name at least 6 times a day regardless of the fact that we tell him repeatedly that there is no one here by that name.  Today, he said he is with the "State Attorney General's Office".  It's gone past the funny to the completely bizarre point.

I understand how you fell.  They called my cell phone and my work number. They are telling me the same thing.  I ask them to fax or email the information.  The guy said, he could not send me anything.  I think this is a scam.  I have google the numbers and no information.  I am mad as h_ll!!!!!

I understand how you fell. They called my cell phone and then called my work telling me that I am in serious hot water and that they needed my attorneys name and information. This is not the first time I have had numbers from California call my cell threatening me and when i call the numbers back the numbers have an error code. IM getting frustrated.
