I actually got a text message from this phone number!! all it says is "try this (link) it worked for me"  I did not click on the link!!! But I responded "huh" but I did not know this number. Did not get a response..... And now I know why....

The same exact thing just happened to me.. this b*****d called my cell first a few days prior left a message I could barely understand so I deleted it. Now today he called up to my job and stated he was a detective and asked to speak to my supervisor before they xferd the call to me. Then he goes on about letters they sent out, and I informed him that I have received nothing. He states there is a lawsuit out against me and he needs my attorney to call him asap. I said "I'm not giving you anything! Give me your atty number and I will call them" He proceeds to give me the number to some  attny named "Karen Johnson" but when I call the number it just makes a beep and then nothing.. the number was 916-259-9447 xt 101 HAHAHAHA what a joke! I hope they find these people and throw the book at them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got same kind of calls/messages: Man left several garbled messages on recorder, first time said name was Derek Smith---quite obvious his name was more like Mohammad, advised me and my ss# are being sued....did say fir what.  Said to call or my lawyer call or else.....called back several times all to cell phone....you could hear in background other people same accents making same type of calls.  Next day returned my first day messages, now said his name was Nick Adams ??? was same guy left same number....I knew first day was scam, but after 30 years in insurance business including stint as a Special Invetigator for Insurance Fraud felt I want to see if I could get any info.  So second day left messages advising him I had called FBI, FTC and California attorney general since phone number from California--advised was having phone company trace messages....told him I dared him to call back.....havent heard a peep since.  One funny side not, inital call was about law suit, 20 minutes after his first message got message about getting a loan....voice sounded very familiar, I think this numb skull got his script backwards---supposed to make get loan than sue for non-payment

Got a call from them on my cell phone - same thing as reported above. He said his name was Eric Johnson. Wasn't even asking for me. Made threats, etc..... Then three days later called me back and said my loan was approved...... Left a number and the bogus name of lawyer... I am also in SC..... He said law office of Johnny Guess or Guest. It was sort of muffled. He left a thretening message for someone else on my  cell phone even after I identified myself in the message. Obviously reading form a script without caring who answers. I hung up on him and he called me right back.....

I refuse to believe nothing can be done about this.......

Said he had several affidavits against me in office, couldn't understand....strong accent.  Sounded like a lot of people in background...very intimidating.

My wife is getting this same call. Similar law office scam. But this time he made sexual advances towards her; rape her etc. Then he said he was planting four bombs that would kill thousands on Christmas.  I am not making this up. Called the local Sherriff but don't think they can do much. We're in northern California.

Conversing with a criminal won't help you. It's like talking to a wall, nothing positive to gain.

If you got a call on your cell phone find a free app that can block unlimited calls and start blocking all his numbers.

I got a call to saying that i was bein sued, from some loan company. I told them i didnt acept any loans and that I could even go to my bank stuff and prove it, he said go ahead do so and you'll get aressted. I was freaking out till a friend told me it was all ok it wasnt real. guy said his name was Dexter Cruse I'm on disability and stress easy so the Jerk if your reading this GO TO HELL for sky rocketing my stress and blood preshue.

Same message threatening a lawsuit against my social security nunmber  Should I be concerned?  I am a little scared they have my information.

Thats Weird the same happen to me and said I have to pay 600 some dollar to settle and then ask for 350 of I told him off than call my attorney and and put him on three way and he would no tell him the information he need it

I have gotten numerous calls from these people. I have called my local police department and the FBI. I also filed a complaint with the FTC. The man at the FBI gave me a website to go to for the FBI to fill out a complaint. The website is www.ic3.gov. If they get enough reports they will open an investigation to catch these people. So come on guys all of you go to that site and complain!

Same thing happened to me and I too think it was because I applied for a payday loan online. Never again! I can block on my cell phone but not my work phone....glad to know for sure its a scam he will get an earful if he calls back.

I got a voice mail from this number on my cell phone this morning. The caller identified himself as an officer and stated that I must return his call within 24 hrs or be arrested. I was curious as to what was up and called, but it went straight to voice mail. Then I checked online and found this site. Thanks for your posts.

I just received a call from David Williams whom apparently represents the Johnny Best Law Office. He called my company searching for one of my employees, I could barely understand him, as he spoke with a foreign dialect, very heavily accented....perhaps of an African dialect. He gave this phone number and told me that it was very important for my employee to call him back ASAP. Sounded like a scam! But, I'll pass it a.ong to my employee and let him figure it out, with the suggestion that he google both the name Johnny Best and the phone number.

The same thing happen to me and I called back and got no answer. I knew it had to be a scam because would called you and leave a detail message like that about a law suit. I want someone to answer to let them know that I am on to them

Yes, I got the same phone call. when I talked to her, she  ask me my name, I told her, she ask me what was my phone # I was getting pretty hot by now. and I said, and I shouted, you have my  # you called me.. what the deal. and who do I notify/

same as above. It is most definately a SCAM!!! I have already reported them to the FTC.

Same situation, this guy has been calling our home and threatening my wife about a lawsuit for refusing to pay an application fee?  Sounds fishy already right?  Well this same guy than calls saying he is an attorney and demanding that we pay and if we don't a lawsuit of $3,200 will be pressed.  The weird thing is that we were suppose to talk to a "Dexter Cruz" and we got a John?

To any and all people who read this keep in mind that it doesn't matter who it is from whether it is law or any kind of business that deals with money.  Ask for paperwork and if they refuse or start getting very irate, then it is safe to say that it is a scam.  ALWAYS ASK FOR PAPERWORK!!!

This guy just call me and said something about my ssn and a lawsuit he said I need to call my lawyer and if I don't have one call dexter cruz who is his boss but I fekt like it was a scam cause I'm in georgia and I got the call at 730 and the call came from california which makes it 430 over there so I'm like I know that ain't no lawyers open then protect yourself people . I have been receiving calls from this number for a little over a week. When they first contacted me they calaimed that I had a lawsuit that was going to go to court against me and my social security #. This man claimed to be with the Law Firm of Johnny Best. He claimed that I had $1,272 in unsecured debt. I proceeded to ask Where is the debt owed to? He replied that it is unsecured debt. I entertained the phone call for a little while longer He then tried to put me into a payment plan. I asked another 3 times in the conversation who do I owe this money too? His reply every time was that we already discussed it and it is unsecured debt and they deal with over 500 companies and he doesn't know which 1 I owe money to. He then proceeded to tell me that I needed to go to Walmart and buy a green dot money pack card and download money to it then call him back with the 14 digit number on the back! I didnt do it. When I received a call yesterday I informed this man that I had been to my attorney and to my local Sherriffs department and he just got very nasty and yelled that he will see me in court and he will win the case. This man talks with a very heavy accent! I never could understand his nam but I did understand the law firm name. I believe this very much to be a scam and was advised to get identity theft protection, close my bank account, and call the credit bureaus.

I was actually first given this number two weeks ago after being told I was approved for a loan I didn't apply for.  Called the number and this Stephan Smith told me I needs to pay 200 via western union to complete the loan.  It took me five times saying that I didn't apply for the loan and either way I don't want or need it.  Today the same guy called saying he was from a law firm.  Missed his call four times, the idiot left a message (also have the same number for the loan offer.  Called back a few times, kept getting hung up on and then I left my message to them that if I get another call or anything else odd happens, I will go straight to JAG (hubby's army) to have them look at the info provided that they could give me. Have t heard from them since.  Beware this number it is a FRAUD !!!!!

this is kimberly graham i got scamed by cash advance  there number is 209-682-5883 they said i could borrow 7,500 &pay them 195.00 for 4 years and then they ask for 200 more dallors but i new then that it was a scam make sure you don,t go on line to get a loan because you could get scamed bad im disable to and on disability so you now is hard to live on a fixed income thank you

I just got a call from this same number and he said he was Steven Brown and had a very heavy indian accent, said he was with some law firm that was going to file a lawsuit against me, he had my cell number and my social security number and has never answered the phone when I try to call back on the number he told me to call him back on.  I am glad I found this site, at least now I know he is a scammer.

I received this same call, I could barely understand anything he was saying. He told me to call back the same number he was calling from, ask for extension 786 and speak with a Dexter Cruz, who is supposed to be the attorney he's a paralegal for. He would not explain anything about the supposed lawsuit, what it was in regards to, or who it was from. He also didn't know anything about contact or serving laws.

I also received a message on my home phone from a man with a thick indian accent stating his name was David Wilson and was threatening a lawsuit against my social security number.  He gave me the number of 916-546-8662 for me or my attorney to call him back.  I called the number back and no answer.  I am contacting my local police department to report this.
