6/25/2014 the caller hung up on me.

6/10/14 - This number just started calling my work mobile phone today.  Ive received 3 calls and I never answer.  No voicemails.  Too bad my work line is an iPhone because iPhones don't have the number block option like Android on Samsung.  Just ignore their calls and spread the word.

This is Sacramento Police Fire Investigations Unit.

True this is a DOD, direct outward dial, number for the city of Sacramento and you can't call back on it.

This number is from the Sacramento Police Department.  When they call out, not only is the number blocked, but it scrambles and comes up as a totally different phone number each time.  Thats the reason it is disconnected when you try and call the number back that appeared on your caller ID.

Why is this number calling all my family members how did they get this information?

I swear all of you are dumb, they are calling you to try and get you to pay them for something that you never had. some of them will call you saying you have been chosen for a 2500 $ shopping spre or you got a car loan aproved which im sure you never signed up for.... do not give them anything its fake tell them to F off and go on with your day.... they bought a list off a company that you have all owed some kind of money too in the past and they just call you trying to get your money.... Dont worry no cops are going to waist there time with arresting you at your work or anything its all fake...

I got a call from this number to confirm my daughter's birthday party reservations at Fairytale Town, so this goes to the city using it as a basic caller ID number, but I wasn't aware that Fairytale Town was run by the city. Now I know.  :)

A woman called and said she wqs a investigater and needed to talk to me regaurding a case she was working on she wouldnt give me anyinfo what the wqs who it was about just exspected me to meet her she toldmy manager i was a witness to a crime i wasnt tho.

I called the sacramento zoo, and i guess this is their generic number calling out...

I got 2 times call from this number 8:15am this morning.I called back.and nobody answered.and then the voice said can not connected...and I wonder why on my cell phone there was name on the screen.Jesus Reyes.that is weird......

i got a call from this number and the person said they were a police detective with the sacramento police dept.

Looked it up after I got called and they hung up without leaving a message.  According to the Yellow Pages on-line, it is the Sacramento Marina.  However, I have absolutely NO ifea why anyone at the Sacramento Marina would be calling me, nor why thye would not leave a message.

It's a generic number from the City of Sacramento, but you can't call it back.  We use it so we can get through your Caller ID, but we don't want you to call us back on it, because we don't want to talk to you or anybody else.

I rec'd a call from the number and you can't call it back but it is a generic number from the City of Sacramento. In my case it was coming from someone inside the building department.

How do you block this number from being able to call your phone?

called. and call transfered to my cell. during transfer i hear a background voice.. of multi-boys and one girl.. the guys was asking girl, if shes interested in free movie tickets.. then i hear caller saying i dont know his name or anything... and hang-up... BUT I THINK ITS SCAM.. Using public pay phone from a gov. location.

I received a call from this number. They identified themselves as being from the Sacramento Police Dept. They asked me about being a witness to an accident. I was at the scene, but did not witness the accident and left it at that. I think the Heather Fargo comment is probably correct.

My mother received a call today from (916) 551-1317 and the caller ID identified it as Sacramento City. When I did a search of all the City of Sacramento phone numbers it did not show up. What did show up was this website. So if this is a number you can't call back - who is calling? Is this a prank call?

It is the City of Sacramento main PRI number that tons of calls originate from... you cannot call a PRI back, as it is a trunk of tons of other lines all put together.  This is not a pay phone, scam or prank, it is someone from the City calling you.
