My call was from a vendor with whom my organization works for Incident Command notifications (in this case, a snow and ice emergency drill).  They would only be calling you because you are a member of your organization's Incident Command structure.

This is a legitimate call for health care providers.  I work in a hospital and when we have something big happen: ie patient surge where multiple known patients will be coming in at one time.....tornado damage, chemical spills etc....I am on a emergency contact list and this is the number that I always receive the call from.  If you are receiving them on your personal phones my guess is that whomever had the number before you listed it as a contact number for this company.  I listed both my work number and my cell number so if I ever change my cell number and do not remove that number from their list then the next person that receives this number will begin to get the phone calls.  Also, you do not have to be a doctor or a nurse or a medical professional of any kind to be on this list.  I am simply an Office Support person that works in the hospital's emergency preparedness office.....medical staff are not the only one's effected by incidents such as the example above.  Hope this helps everyone!

New phone provided by my employer...had it 2 weeks and this is the first call I get. I may have handed out 5 business cards so far and no one knows the number. Auto-dialer, robo-caller message says that they have important info on my health and to press 5 to get it. No thanks.

I have received calls from this number also.  I would appreciate if the calls stopped

i received an "important" call from this number asking to press any key to hear message.  I did not.  I gotr the call two times within 20 minutes.

This is a health alert system.  If you work for a state agency, you might get the notices or calls because you are the contact person.

Its a automated response company.  Michigan Health alert network contracts with them for emergency notification messages for Hospitals, Ambulances, Fire Departments and such.  Since they are a contract company your message may be from some one else.

I answered the call.  It's for volunteers for Emergency support. I also received an email: Volunteers are needed to staff the 2-1-1 overflow call center in Burlington, taking calls from Vermonters reporting flood damages and urgent needs. You are probably on an emergency call list, as I am.

3 calls no message

I just had 8 missed calls from this number. I am a CNA, but I dont understand the message. It told me to check my email for further information and it gave me another phone number to call but I didn't write it down because I do not understand any of it.

got 7 in a row, didnt answer it, but tried to cal it back, and it wont ring.

Just received  2 consecutive calls from this number, they finally left a message but I couldn't understand the message. I am an RN, and we have a Tsunami warning here in California.

I got same message - 3 calls in 10 min - asked for code, when not given after 3 requests it hung up. No ring when I called the number back

Not sure how this could be legitimate if so many non-medical professionals are receiving these calls.  I received two in a row today....California number with an important message from the Michigan Health and Safety Alerting System.

This is actually a legitimate number through the Health Alert Network; they must have your number by mistake if you are receiving calls from them. Health departments, emergency personnel and hospital staff are registered to receive these alerts if there is a regional, national or state health notice - from extreme emergencies to simple requests for numbers of beds available after a big car accident.

Called 4 times in a 10 minute span, If I press 1 to accept it says it is an important call from the Washington DC Department of Health, and then asks for some secure code.

Wierd because the 916 is NE California.

Recieveing several calls a day indicating they have an important message press any key. When you press any key, it ask for a password. The call indicates it is from the "Ohio Department of Health"
