Automated message says to reduce your credit card interest rate dial 9. the company did not identify who they were and i did NOT dial 9, i just hung up.

I think these guys are spoofing non-existent phone numbers for the CallerID when they call saying "this is a call from your credit card company." First of all, I believe this constitutes a perpetration of a FRAUD since I have long ago canceled all of my credit cards !! I previously spoke with someone on 2010-05-27 1:33:18 PM CDT (CallerID 1-826-000-9728) and told them I am on both the national and state "do not call list" and to remove me from their system. They called back today with caller ID 1-265-000-2899. The caller ID numbers they have used so far all have 000 as the prefix and are:

1-305-000-9876 on 2009-07-18 10:28:04AM CDT
1-917-000-9283 on 2009-12-07 1:26:05PM CST
1-773-000-0000 on 2010-04-06 12:59:42PM CDT
1-826-000-9728 on 2010-05-27 1:33:18PM CDT
1-625-000-8892 on 2010-06-01 3:43:27PM CDT
1-265-000-2899 today, 2010-06-15 2:42:03PM CDT

I also received 15 calls over in the last year between 2009-07-01 and 2010-04-27 from 1-000-000-0000.

Anyone have any idea who we can contact to get these guys charged and off the grid ?

Got 2 calls today from these a-holes. My wife got the first one & just hung up. I got the second and pressed 9 to tell the not to call again & was hung up on. I go now to the DNC regestry to file a complaint.

I also pressed 9 to tell them to take me off their calling list and i am on the do not call list as well and the guy who answered hung up on me.  I went directly to the national do not call list web site and filed a complaint.  I hope something is done.

Phone call from 917-000-9283.  I did not answer.  When will they begin rigidly enforcing the no call list.

Me too I wouldn't answer it.  Weird thing is it says that it is from NY and an area code used for cell phones only

It's is a scam. I held so I could ask who was calling and they hung up. How can we report this number?

I answered and the caller ID display said New York.

Voice recording said the usual lower your credit, I pressed 9 as only option to speak to a real person.  The lady who answered asked if I had over $3,000 in credit card bills.  I honestly thought it was one of those calls from an existing card at first trying to upsell me services.  I said I didn't know how much credit card debt I had and they could check since they called me.  The lady said she didn't know everything and needed my answer.  I repeated that I expected they would already have my info since this was about my existing credit which she had originally said.  Then she just hung up.  RUDE and disruptive to my day.

I tried to call the # back and didn't work.

We received a call this evening (November 3, 2009).  We have caller I.D. and refuse to answer a call of this nature.  The Caller I.D. specified "No Known Name."  We are on the "Do Not Call List" and it bothers me that these "unknowns" are allowed to dial my phone number.

Got a call on home phone asked if i am interested to press 9. I did and reached a young lady and asked her to remove me from her list and she hung up on me.

We got one too yesterday afternoon.
