Not only have I received calls from this number (american lung association) they sent me a packet claiming I agreed to be the neighborhood volunteer for their fundraiser! Pretty hard to agree to something when we have never even spoken on the phone about it!

I just let it go to voice mail...   never a message...

917-210-0241 has called the last four days (Oct 17-20, 2007), different times of day, doesn't leave a message.  I don't have caller ID name service, so I only know the number.

Do not call me - I am on the do not call list

Caller Id shows American Lung Association. I was able to block the number until they changed the number to +11-917-210-0241. I donated once in the past and now I get calls at least four times a week. Their persistence is irritating. They are now on my "do not donate too" list.

CHARITIES are EXEMPT from the Do-Not-Call legislation.  If its really Amer Lung, I suspect they're using an automated calling computer, and are unaware that it's broken. Normally you'd hear a recorded sales pitch asking for donations.

Ask your local phone carrier to put a block on the number. Don't know if that's free or not.

So annoying!  They left an "urgent!  You must call asap" message.  One of the kids called.  One minute phone call to taped message and was charged 3.23 for the call from Sprint!

Why is it that we have to put ourselves on a do not call list. Why do our Congressmen insist on us doing all this. There should be a call list. If you are not on that call list and these companies call us we then should be able to take legal action.

Just got this call myself for the first time. nosuchnagency--you are doing nothing but perpetuating the fear that people have to begin with. I think you are full of crap myself. Yes, naturally I can see that you get these calls constantly.

(Study my name carefully for a clue as to who has been calling)  I am a subcontractor who was involved in a technical aspect of setting this up.  Its not Amer Lung, other charity, campaign office, or legit business.  Calls to us are being routed through several communications servers to conceal tracing and identity.  All I know, via a blabber-mouth employee “watching” me while I worked, is this: All of us are being "cataloged" as to when we are home & not home, but he'd say no more.

Certainly the ultimate and unknown scope of this system is so much broader than any of us could dream up!  The only other info I have is it's sanctioned under the Patriot Act, (was able to get a quick glance at the work contract paperwork in the construction foreman's office confirming this).  I can tell you this: the more you are called equals the level of interest they have in your whereabouts, in you, and sadly, there’s not a thing you can do about it.  And me?  Naturally I receive these calls almost constantly, 24/7.

Its for a Neighborhood Campaign, a big fundraiser many organizations do, they dont leave messages , there is no callback number, this helps a lot of people who need help, answer the phone and they wont call back, its as simple as that

I also have been getting this number numerous times a day on my caller ID and it also comes up American Lung for the past 3-4 days and i am also on the do not call ist for pa!!! lukily, i have not them in the middle of the night yet.....how can we report this problem???

Being driven crazy by calls from this number.  If I answer

1 917-210-0241 calls my home  day  and  night.  My elderly Mother
gets no rest.  American Lung Association is on caller ID.  My Mother
is 74 years old.  This number awoke her at 3:30 this morning, Saturday,
March 8. They call when we are eating--lunch, dinner.  I am V.P. operations
of a company.  I cannot continue dealing with this.  I live in Conyers, Georgia, about thirty miles from the capitol, Atlanta.  I am on the Georgia
No Call List as well as then National No Call List.

It's the American Lung Assn.  I'm on the Do Not Call List, and they just disregard it.

Received a call on 02-27-08 At 7:10pm.  Caller Id said New York Call.  No message was left when answering machine was triggered.

Yep, they keep calling me to. this time Someone was saying"I don't know" ..then hung up. Weird.

The answer on the number says American Lung, and oddly had both a 'if you would like to hear more about us' and 'remove my number' on the same response. However if you go through that, after everything including putting in your phone number (don't they have caller id?), it says it would take 30 days to remove your number. I had an issue with the Touch Tones emitted by my wireless set and switched to a hand set to get it to recognize the tones (but the menu service had no problem).

They have called several times over the last few weeks.I thought I was already listed in the 'do not call' list. Have to renew soon, I was one of the first...

get a call from this number about once a week for last 6 weeks, no one responds on other end....caller ID just says "New York call"; hard to believe it is a good cause like American Lung Assn...if so, they need to get their act together

They keep calling me, but don't leave a msg.  After seeing some of these posts, I called the number back and through automated prompts registered with them to remove my number from the call list.  If the remove request doesn't work, I'll post here again to let others know.
