Exactly the same thing happened to me as others posted. I reported it to the credit card companies, and to Equifax, and to the FTC - but not until I gave probably too much information.  Which I NEVER do - and I feel incredibly stupid but they just got me in a weak moment and lowering the interest rates is something I've been really hoping to do.... note to self - never answer the phone when you just woke up from a nap. :-(

Note - that both accounts I spoke to him about are actually closed - so I am assuming the $690" that has already been charged to my card" really didn't happen but.... yikes!!

I received a call from this # today saying they were alerting me to a $1000 charge on my credit card.  I told him that I had Lifelock and I would have been alerted by them.  He began reciting my information that he had wanting me to verify it and I could barely understand his "Indian" English.  I finally told him that he was trying to scam me and hung up.  He immediately called back asking why I had hung up on him, obviously agitated, and tried to convince me that there was a charge for electronics in California.  I again
told him I had Lifelock and it was not true.  He began yelling and I hung up on him again.  Immediately he called back and began vomiting profanity calling me every vile name he could think of.  At that point I
became scared and called my husband, Lifelock, and the police.  Every time I tried to use the phone to
call out the guy was still on the phone spouting profanity directed at me, until he finally gave up.

These clowns called me as well.  After sealing with them and their "claims" that they can reduce interest rates on credit cards, I called my card companies.  When they returned my call  I questioned them about internet complaints and BBB complaints.  They claim that all those complaints are written by former employees.  I am not a former employee of their company, but I am writing this complaint!!!  I have cancelled all my account numbers I gave them.  When they call me soon to say they can reduce my card rates I will tell them to check the balances on the cards I have given them, which are closed, and refund the amount paid, in accordance with their agreement, which of course they never sent me.  I figure I was able to waste at least a couple hours of their time by doing this.  Sure it took a bit of my time, but it is cheap entertainment.  One of their reps even told me on the phone that I was "insane".  That rep is Michelle.  She answers the customer service number, 855-693-xxxx.  The rep they had scheduled to speak with me about their program. Wendy. did call but declined to continue the conversation when I pressed her on the complaints.

917-333-0000  same as the rest. I realized this is the second time they've called me. The first time they called they were offering me credit protection services. he kept insisting he was from credit services. I told him that I had no proof he wasn't trying to steal my identity at that very moment. the only defense he had was "but i'm not". Said thanks but no thank you and have a nice day.

I am carrying a balance on one card, so receiving a call from "Card Member Services" saying my interest could be reduced based upon my exemplary credit history was appealing.  I pressed "9" and made the mistake of giving him my card number and expiration date, as well as last four of social and zip code.  What an idiot I am.  He sounded more-or-less legit...I thought.  But when he put me on hold to access my account information, I hung up to put a call in to my credit card company.  He called back from the 917-333-0000 number in New York.  I said we had been disconnected.  When he had incorrect information about everything EXCEPT my current balance (carrying other balances, amount of my last payment, etc.), I became REALLY suspicious.  He then said my APR would be reduced to 5% on the next payment and we ended the call.  I immediately called my credit card company and had a hold put on the card.  They're sending me a new card.  What a drag though.    And: WHAT ARE THE RAMIFICATIONS OF THIS?  What can they do now that they have that much info about me?

I just got the call this afternoon - twice in quick succession but I didn't answer. 917-333-000 NY. Oddly, the operator/scammer didn't hang up and left his mic open for a one minute forty-five second voicemail. Foreign language, call center, people laughing ... the guy obviously just forgot to kill the call when it rolled to voicemail.

I used to work for the BBB and was immediately wary when he asked for my expiration date (this can mean they already have the card number and just want to make sure it's still valid). He told me Experian wanted to grant me a lower interest rate based on my good credit (gave me my score - right!), then asked for my card number. I don't think so. I told him I'd like everything in writing and he said I got a letter from Experian. When I contradicted him, he started yelling at me and I hung up. He immediately called back, twice. I tried to notify Experian but don't know if it got through.

I just received this call. I too wouldn't authorize anything and I called my credit card company right away and reported it. They cancelled those numbers and issued new ones. When I tried calling the number back it says it is not in service. It comes up when I googled it to a company in New York. The guy used the name David Navarro. Spread the word to be aware.

It is rediculous that these a$@holes have not been found and prosecuted. I don't know what they have or haven't gotten away with, but I do know they are frauds. Figured it out for sure when I found myself being called a b@%#+ and a motherf*%#^. Obviously numerous reports have been made. They need to be located and stopped. I can't believe they actually take the time to call people back to b&@$#* them out. Pathetic.

I received  a few calls from this number and it's definitely some sort of scam.  The fact that they are from  both Visa and Mastercard  and want you to give them your information is proof that they are  vultures.  Credible credit and bank companies would never call you in such a way and ask you this type of personal information. Please never give away your card information to anyone that calls you. If you are ever in this type of situation hang up and call the number at the back of your card and never  give away information to  random  companies  that make claims that are to good to be true.

I got a call from an unknown number. I have a couple friends that have their caller ID blocked so I picked it up. It was the "lower my intrest" crap. I figured WTF, I have a couple minutes to harass these people. The got on the line and I strung them along for a couple minutes. Then they asked for my CC number. I said, give me a minute to find it. After a minute or 2 he asked if I was still there. I said ya, just a second. This happened a couple times. after the last time he hung up. I kept him on the line for 10 minutes this way.

A minute later he called back from 917-333-0000. He asked what happened. I told him nothing, I was just seeing how long I could keep you on the line for. I don't think he understood so I told him that I kept him on the line for 10 minutes, hopefully that meant that he was not able to harass another couple other people in that amount of time. He hung up for some reason ;)

Whenever I get these calls I save them in my phone under "do not answer" and then assign no ring tone to them. That was I don't even hear them! I have about 50 numbers in there now!

These people keep calling! I keep blocking them! Still keep calling with other#s & unknown#s! I can't ecnore unknown#s I have family all over the country! So I went along with their antics today gave them the first & last# & expiration date of my visa card & and right away the call was disconnected as all crooks would do. So just as I planned I would do after the call I called my bank & explained to them & had them send me new cards! Lol (we only have this account for emergencys) so there was no inconvenience. While on the phone I got 5 calls from this # from NY! After hanging up from the bank I answered it was a supervisor saying sorry that I was disconnected from my call from his colleague. I said don't waste your  breath I just got off the phone with my bank, your not affiliated with them the card is canceled. He cursed me like nobody ever has! Said I was a stupid stupid lady and deserved to be robbed of every dollar by American Banks. And what ever the rest of the stuff he was saying as I hung up! The rudest people I have ever had contact with!!!

I just this minute got a call from 917 333 0000. His English was so broken I had trouble understanding him. He said this was an urgent call from my CC company and asked if I had just made a $3000.00 purchase in California. I knew right then this was a scam...so I told him my husband and I were in Bankruptcy and hung up. He immediately called back, so I let the answering machine record this #.

12/03/13  I got a call from 971-333-0000 from a very heavily accented gentleman to the point I could barely understand him so I told him I was not interested and hung up.  Then less than 30 seconds later, another accented gentleman calls back. The short story is for $690 fee they would substantially reduce the interest rate on my card and it would be a fixed rate.  He knew the balance on my card etc. What bothered me is the more I said no, the pushier he got.  I finally said , NO! NO! NO! and hung up while he was still talking away.  I have called my credit card company and they are closing that account and re-issuing a new card/account.  I did asked where he was calling from and he said "Card member services."  Too generic for me.  Another scary thing is I tried to call the number back and was told it was not in service.

The people behind the phone number 917-333-0000 flat-out tried to scam me. Don't trust them. They somehow knew that I had recently called my credit card company about lowering my interest rate and also named my bank. They sounded legitimate enough (at the time), saying they were from my bank, and swore up and down repeatedly that I could trust them. So I gave them my credit card number and they pulled up my statement information. Big mistake.

They started to ask me how many credit cards I had and how much credit card debt I had overall. Those are not typical questions a credit card company asks a customer. And then on top of that they wanted to know ALL of my credit card numbers. I hung up but they continued to try to call me back and pester me.

I changed my credit card number, placed freezes on my credit reports, and reported them to the FTC.

Sometimes we are caught off-guard. It's really not a safe world. Protect yourself. Don't answer the phone if you don't recognize the number. That way you won't have to back-track like I did to prevent damage. Lesson learned here.

I decided to play along with this j a c k a s s  - first time he called it was marked "unknown" - unfortunately, that can sometimes be my mom so I answered. I got the same spiel as the previous callers, "lower your interest rate, blah blah" so I decided to play along. The phone # I gave was 877-eat-s h i t. Then when he asked the bank, I said, "Schrujaab bank" - he then proceeded to ask me if I liked to give b***jobs, told me he has a 12 inch C@CK, and he'd pay be $ 2500 to let him have $#X with me. He also told me he has a limo and a lot of money. I told him I don't sleep with dirty smelly Muslims.

I received a phone call today from 917-333-000 and the man sounded middle eastern, Indian, etc. and said he represented my credit card companies (I have 2 different cards).  He told me I had great credit and he could lower the interest rate on both my cards.  He had all the information in front of him....when I made my last payments and how much and my card numbers.  He switched me to his supervisor who also was foreigner and said he could lower my rates and I asked him his name and he didn't want to give it to me so I became leary and told him so and I hung up so I could call my bank.  While trying to call my bank, he called me about 10 times and I wouldn't answer.  My bank told me it was a scam and they would cancel my card.  I didn't hear anymore out of them until on the way home.  Since I was driving, I couldn't see the number and the caller identified himself as my bank and asked me what took place on my credit card today.  I proceeded to tell him and realized he had an accent and sounded just like the man who called earlier.  I told him I was calling the police and he had the nerve to say, "You don't have the guts".....I hung up and have called my bank again and also my cell phone carrier.   These guys need to be stopped.  I'm calling the police tomorrow.

I have had my credit card changed earlier as I got easily duped by them. Please do not pass any information and just hang up.
