This number is attached to an email claiming I have been approved for a pay day loan. I have not applied for one, in addition the email address they sent this to is only used on my resume. I have determined that your identity can be stolen via a resume, and using web sites like geneology.com as you have your family history in many cases for public view.

Never give these people anything. Don't even talk to them. They are off shore fraud criminals. More than likely you don't owe these people anything! Put fraud alerts on your credit reports!

This is a scam. Your caller is a SCAMMER pretending to be a debt collector. You will not be served to appear in court, you will not be arrested.

I have been receiving these phone calls from a sebastion saying that they  awill send investagotors to my house and work if I don't pay off a pay day loan for 900 doolors and thy want me to send the money by western uinion.  But western wouldn't let take the funds re d light warnings.

Just received a call from a middle eastern gentleman stating that there is a charge against my name and social security number owing a pay day loan company $550.52.  He had my email address and when i stated that I never received any "warning notices" of a debt owed, he asked me if my mailing address was **** Clearview ct (city, state) zip.... and i said yes, he said that one of his investigators had been here and that there was no one around and the house was locked up... If someone would have been here, my neighbors would have seen and taken a message.  The only positive thing is that this guy was at least a little nice. Lets see how long this lasts when he discovers they are not getting any money from me... another hint that this is a scam... If a "debt collector" wants you to pay using a greendot money pack, you know right away it is a scam as that it is virtually impossible for you to recover lost funds.  It took me several hours of phone calls including having a police report number in order to recover just a little of what i had (however stupidly of me) done.  

I have noticed with the holiday season fast approaching, these guys are trying to hit people for more money because no one wants to take the chance of being in jail over the holidays... so just use caution and good judgement.

I have the same story. The interesting thing is that I have not had a payday loan in almost 2 years. I have turned him into the FBI and FTC.

This is a criminal extortion ring operating out of India. ABC News released an investigative report on it in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

I've been getting the same message for a while now. I've turned it over to the Federal Bureau of Investigations. I expect to hear from them soon.

A man named Sabastin Taylor (his spelling) called indicating he had all of my personal data; therefore, I did not need to call my bank to verifly what he was saying. He demanded payment arrangements for a pay-day I received on 03/01/11. If I did not make payment arrangements, I will be taken to court on 08/15/12. I told him, see you in court.

Received a call from Frank Harris said he is from Affidavit Consolidation services. He said he had something against my name to call him right away..  I have had these before it's a scam.  Middle east accent.

Guy called and said that i have a payday loan that was not paid off.  I do not have one that has an outstanding balance.  They are all paid off.  Said his name was Kevin Cooper, that he was calling from the Financial Law Dept in NY.

Same as msg. above from soliddrums-exactly!!  He even messed up while reading his script-ha!  I've been getting these types of calls since Oct. 2010-they are a pain if nothing else-ties up msg. space and I'm at work and don't have time for this.  I was told that once you apply for payday loans, whether at a store or on-line they sell your
info. to frauds like these-don't give them any info. and just hang up-don't waste your time!!!!

Get threatening messages from the number.  However, it seems the number isn't valid when you try to call back.  You cannot understand the message from the caller since the English is so broken.  He is telling me that I have a criminal case against me and have til Friday to straighten it out.
