They are actually located in India.  They spoof numbers and business to a carry on their scams.  As such they are beyond the reach of US law. The Indian government doesn't do much, although every once in a while you her of a call center being shut down.

Good old John Rosewell cld me from 917-200-9423.  Told me that Windows Technology was getting error messages from my computer?  I said really?  He said oh my, you did not know?  Very thick Indian accent, rude.  He tried to get me to log on to a site so that I could see it for myself.....hopefully no one will fall for this.

Same thing has happened to me. Heavy accented person claiming to be from Windows and Micrsoft, calls and threatens to shut down my home computer unless I sit down at it and let them "fix" it because they say it has been hacked into. The calls won't stop Does not matter how tough or rude I get, the phone calls continue.. They told me they were calling from Fresno, Ca. I asked for a manager and finally was put through to a Dean Watson who states the company is Net Pro headquartered in London. I also got 2 phone #s that you can get through on 866-292-6515  and 888-867-1858. Dean said he was the service manager. Would not give me name of the CEO but after talking to their legal department he finally gave me an address of  34 New House 67-68,  Hatton Garden,  Halborn, UK  EC1N8TY. Dean said they have satalite offices all over. He also told me that he put my number on the do not call list---we will see!!!  I am contacting the BBB of California, The Attorney General of Ca, and Consumer affairs in Ca. I am also contacting the same agencies in the state where I live, Pennsylvania. Let's hope we can put a stop to this nonsense.

Multiple calls on my child's cell phone with no message. The automated answer said something like "inter-asterisk exchange".  No one came on the line and I cannot block the call.

John Rosewell NY.  Fake.  Annoying.  They want to sell you home improvements.

I spoke to the guy on the other end...in my native Farsi...and he hung up fast.

I already made a comment about this number but the problem has become worse for me!!! I have not answered the phone for this number once and I've put it on my my reject list because I can't even have my phone on any other setting than mute because it goes off every hour maybe sometimes twice!!! Since I added it to my reject list they now call unknown and they have even started calling from another number (917) 200-9423 and possibly (668) 233-5000 I have never in my life been spam called so much! I have now 20+ phone calls since this problem started to occur two nights ago. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

Got a call from this guy that could barely speak english caller id said it was john roswell as well saying he was from windows company and my computer was downloading a bunch of viruses that my normal avg or malwarebytes couldnt take care of and they wanted me to get on my computer surely to scam me as well but i told him how could he possibly know what was going on with my computer and i hung up that is 2 calls from the same guy in 2 weeks please be careful out there people and dont fall for this scam good luck everyone

My question is what is anyone doing about it. I am constantly getting calls from this number . Is reporting it going to help solve the problem? What should we do since it is obviously a scam to steal credit card and ID info.

SO ANNOYING!  How do we make this stop!  NOW the phone is ringing every 15 minutes from 11:15pm until 12:30 AM!!

Be careful, John Rosewell NY has many numbers, they used 917-200-9423 when they called me.  Best to keep paying for caller ID and just not to pick up.

This jerk has called twice now.  The first time was last week, then he just called back again. I told him I knew it was a scam and there was no way he could see that I had a computer virus unless he put it there.  On caller ID is says his name is John Rosewell.  A local TV station had a report a week or two ago of an elderly lady getting this call and she actually believed him.  He directed her to a site and when she got there she had a message saying her computer had a virus and they could get rid of it for her if she would give them her credit card number, and they charged her over $100.00.  The infection was so bad no one could get rid of it and she ended up having to purchase a new computer.

I wish there was a way to put this guy behind bars.  

He speaks with an Indian accent.  It appears he has been very busy we have friends on the east coast that are getting calls from him.  Too bad he can't make a living doing something to help people, rather than take their hard earned money.

This call comes in once a week, it's a company stating they want to talk about my computer. I know it's a scam but I asked which computer and sometimes they hang up and last week some Indian guy said it was about windows 7/8 I told them to stop calling me, I don't use windows 7/8 and he again hung up. Today I screamed at him to STOP CALLING

Wife just got a call from them it was the same computer scam and a foreign guy named Kevin .

I just got the same call, I was laughing at him because I recalled hearing something about this scam, I said how do you know or how does Windows know if I didn't call you to complain, he started to huff and puff and saying well because...in is very strong Indian accent.  Stupid jerk really got confused when I asked for his supervisors name, lol, very disgustedly he said 'hold on', and so I did until I could hear him mumbling again and I said 'hey Sh%$head scammer/spammer, nice try".  I wish they'd all rot hanging from something.  

just got a call from this number didn't pick up, added the number to my call blocker and the idiot tried to call again

same with me. does anyone have a number to return the harrasment calling? i'm getting really iritated. 7 times in the last hour.

Just received a call telling me my DELL computer was infected. I ask him why he was scamming me and he said no scam. You have a dell computer and it has virus. Told him he was full of it and hung up.

Male callers from India working the various scams will often engage in abusive sexual talk if there is a woman on the other end of the line.  Occasionally women will do ti too.  

They usually do this when their regular scam isn't working.

Many scammers deliberately target women, and single mothers, thinking they are more vulnerable.

We have received several calls from this number.   This last call which happened moments ago, he asked if we were a clinic.  Donna says, did you need to schedule an appointment?  He said he did want to schedule an appointment for sex.  Donna answered him in an irritated voice, "Are you kidding me?"  He says, no, I want to f*** you.  Donna hung up the phone.

I have been getting calls from this number, and finally I decided to find out who they are (I typically do not answer if they are not in my address book). It was hilarious in learning this guy mentioning 'Windies Computer', and told him I do not have such computer, and he better hang up. He was persistent in telling me that everytime I use my computer, he is seeing downloads of malware ...etc. But then, agian I told him I do not have this special 'Windies computer'...and hung up.

How do we block or report these annoyying callers?

Indian guy says I have a free grant from the US government for education, mortgage, whatever.  Told me my address and name.  I said thanks have a nice day, don't call me back.

Just received a call. He said he was with Windows, I said I don't own a Windows computer. So then he said he found a picture of me with my phone number on a porn site and wants to F*ck my P****..... I'm recording these calls, where can I take them to report them?!

The guy that called me said he was from Microsoft! Heavy foreign accent. I told him to take me off his calling list & do it NOW!!!

this was a scam - name John Rosewell came up on caller id- he clamed he was from the windows company (which we all know is not a company but a program)  i told him we both know this is a scam, and he should hang up.  he then informed my computer would shut down. i told him that would not be posible for him to do that, and i was not going to waste my time with him. and hung up

So I received two calls from this number and did not answer the phone. I don't answer numbers I don't have saved to my address book. If it's real important they'll leave a message. Now I'm getting persistent unknown phone calls and I have a feeling it's the same number. Slightly curious if this has happened to anyone else after receiving a call from this number. No voice mail was left after any of the calls.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the scumbag started in with the "Windows" scam before I let her have it with my verbal attack and then hung up.  Who FALLS for this CRAP?!  ugh

My POS caller sounded female.  The call came in at 10:45 pm and the ID said it was from New York.  I don't think so since I'm in Oregon and I doubt they make these calls in the middle of the night.  They are calling from overseas somewhere. I wish they could be stopped.

I just received a call from this number claiming to be a discount pharmacy company.  I told him I would be reporting this number to the "do not call registry".  He hung up.

So this guy faithfully keeps calling me, telling me that he works with Windows Technical Support. He's not to bright because I keep telling him that I'm a programmer and that I know full well he's scamming, but he keeps trying. This last one was different though, I keep telling him to go to hell (censored version) and he keeps trying to get me to load a webpage, finally I really pissed him off and he starts swearing and talking about my mom, then hangs up.
