I don't care who the heck they are. They have been pestering me for a decade and they are HIGH PRESSURE. I keep telling them to stop calling me and they ignore it.  This makes me more furious every time they bother me.  Politeness needs to go out the window if you want to get rid of these parasites.

Next time, they are getting a whistle in the ear. Pests!

They called me at 8:00 AM this morning.  I'm on the Do Not Call list, but they've obviously started their scam calls again.  I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message, but I'll report them again.  If they call again, I will answer and tell them I'm calling the Attorney General's Office.

Just got a hangup call from the above number. Caller ID said: NYFOP. Rule number one....never pick up phone from these callers. Rule number two...delete. I would never give to a charity over the phone. I usually donate to my charities on their official web page.

FOP keep calling me no matter how many times I tell not to call me again, and to take me off you calling list. How do I stop them from calling? I consider this harasment and abuse. Like I would donate to there cause after this.

I used to work for the NY FOP fundraising company (we were paid solicitors by a company called CDG management) andI can tell you first hand this place is a complete scam, preying on the weak and the sick.  We were told to make 500+ calls a day and intimidate and basically beg for pledges from these people, and it broke my heart that the only people who would mainly were old and sick people, sometimes giving up a months medication to chip in their yearly 10 dollar donation.  The truth it at most 15% of the donation goes to the FOP lodge, the rest of it lines the crooks pockets who run it.  I heard the president of CDG recently bought himself a 7 million dollar estate with the profits stolen from people who just wanted to do some good.

Another trick is, if you donate to the FOP, about a week or two later they will put you on the PBA and the firemans association call lists, so that they try to get triple the donation from you before they call back asking for more 2-3 months later.  Most of the people who call you are drunks or stoned at the time, one of the managers in my call center was also the main pot dealer for most of the employees.

We were not allowed to put you on the DNC list unless you specifically said "Put me on your do not call list"  Requesting "please take me off your call list" was not good enough, and we would get written up for doing so if you worded it that way.

Poster Snow on here works for CDG and spreads all kinds of lies and disinformation, just look at any other states FOP listing on here and youll see the same copy/pasted reply from him.  I know they shut down our call center aout 1.5 years ago, but it seems they have recently opened up a new one.  If you want to screw with them, tell them you want to make a 250 dollar donation the next time they call, then just throw the pledge kit away when you receive it.  Put the sticker on your car if you want, hell its free anyway.  They are allowed to call you 4 more times to tell you to send in the money, buts its not like its a bill and you dont have to pay anything.  If you dont mind a few more harrassing phone calls, it is worth it to screw them over and make their "sales" numbers way overinflated vs their actual collections, and will lead to them being shut down again.

Feel free to ask more questions and I will gladly answer them, I know the company pretty well being a former manager there myself.  And please copy/paste this to any other FOP listings that you see on this site, the compnay is a f***ing scam and the owners will burn in hell for their thieving ways and total disregard for the financial damage they have done to those who donate even though they cant afford it only because they were intimidated into donating.

Just got the call.  They had missed me (left no messages) and I have been getting a bunch of "hang-ups" lately with no ID or number showing.  I think this is the cycle. Very nice polite man's voice that I interrupted (nicely...I know...I was distracted) and said ( I had checked with them first to make sure and they said both said they NEVER FUND RAISE) "Just waita moment, I have called the New York State Police and the Saratoga County Sheriff and they both told me to tell you to stop the calls!  I AM  on the "Do Not Call" Registry and I will follow up with the Attorney General's Office as well as the FCC and Consumer Protection Agency if these calls continue.  Please take me off your list.  THE RESPONSE!!!!! "Thank you and I will remove you from our list!"

Fingers crossed!!!!!  BTW,  I picked up downstairs and my whistle is upstairs and I was in a fog so
MAYBE being nice worked as well as not getting my blood pressure up!  Good luck!

*Never* give donations to a stranger who calls you. Might be a scammer. Might be a legit independent fund raiser who keeps 90% for themselves and sends 10% to the charity. Best to find what charity they are collecting for, research the charity to make sure it's legit, get charity contact info from an independent source, then donate *directly* to the charity so they will get 100% of your donation.

Just got a call from these scamboys.  I've been reading about their "fundraising" for years now and am somewhat surprised they're still pulling it, but that's the lax NY not-for-profit laws in action (inaction more like it) for you.

Just remembering how many times groups like these were lined up on the pier to honor me whenever I came back from going in harms way is enough to make sure I'll never give them a penny.

This number comes up also on my caller id as Fraternal Order of Police for NY. I called the police headquarters in Nassau County, where I reside and was connected to the public information department. The officer I spoke to said she had also received a call from them and when she identified herself as a law enforcement officer, they promptly hung up on her. They are not permitted to call requesting donations at all.

I don't pick up the phone, just let them reach the machine, where they just hang up and do not leave any messages.

Next step is to file a complaint with the attorney general and also at the do not call registry.

This Snow person is a scammer.  My son in law is a NY cop and told me never to give these people one cent.  He said that the police do not call people asking for money.  I did read on another site a note from a person who worked for these scammers and he talked about how they prey on people and most of the money never goes to the FOP.

I no longer answer my phone if I don't know who is calling now that I have caller ID, but my favorite call from the NY FOP was when the "gentleman" told me I had given in the past?  huh?  When I explained that money is tight, he wouldn't let up to the point that he got huffy and a bit nasty with me.  So, I hung up on him.

Someone representing the FOP just called to talk to my husband. Now I can tell them they actually donate only 25% to charity. What a joke and what a scam! They never got any money out of us. We work too hard for our money and we are not going to give to some scammers!!!

Funny... I just went to the FOP website and tried to fill out the "contact us" form provided. I stated I was receiving calls from 917-398-5581 and know it's a scam and they never leave a message anyway. When I clicked "send" I got an error message saying Page not found. It looks like their website is also bogus. I just wish they would stop calling... I'd never give a penny to a charity that called me anyway!

They are likely professional telemarketing fundraisers that are calling in the name the Fraternal Order of Police. Check this link out: http://www.stopjunkcalls.com/2006pennies.pdf
Note the percentage of the amount that goes to the charity is on average about 25% only. Most of the money you give goes to the telemarketing. I just don't answer the call.
