We keep receiving calls from Pacific Capital and have asked them to stop calling.  They are very rude and call a couple of times a day.

You're lying.  You have not.

You are dealing with a SCAMMER here. Do not give them any information. There is no removal number listed ( A legal requirement). So you immediately know this is a scam. When you receive ANY unsolicited fax, you should at least look up the offender on the web. If you do ever respond to the fax removal number, you just verified to the scammer that his scam fax did indeed reach its target, then they sell your fax number to more scammers and the cycle never stops. The crappy part about this is that many of these crooks operate outside of the U.S. so they cannot be dealt with legally. Just inform your employees to be diligent and NEVER call any removal number or you will be sorry you did. Someone I work with used to do that and I get about 20-25 junk faxes every month from many different scammers. I researched some of the numbers and they came from the same source in Canada, same phone number, but different fake companies. You cannot be too careful these days. Unfortunately you must not trust this type of solicitation.

Is there any way to track this entity or individual to a specific location?  To find the source of the communications would be very helpful in eliminating the problem.  I have called the number and spoke with live people so they are somewhere, in this case I belive that public action will be the only recourse of action.  Complaining about it will do nothing.

Thank you for posting info on this fraudulant company. I just tried to contact them via fax and was unsuccessful. If you do find a way to be removed from their list. Please post and I'll keep checking back...I will do the same. Thanks.

Mine was the exact same as the letter above but the fax number is different by one number. Mine reads:917-591-3168

I'm receiving the fax with a different phone number on it:  917-563-9734.  I really wish these people would leave me alone!

PCFG is still sending out the same junk fax, only the telephone is different: 917-563-9734. The fax number is given as 917-591-3168, but there is no originating fax number printed at the top of the page, which is required by law. The fax is addressed to someone who was an exec for the company previously at this location, but has never worked for this company. If "Dave Thomas" truly spoke to that man as he states, it would have been over three years ago. And I really doubt that the company had a "positive Dun & Bradstreet credit rating" since it went out of business.

I have also tried to find the source to stop the faxes, but have been unsuccessful locating the correct company.  There are companies with similiar names, but NOT this company.

Just got the same fax, googled the company and saw this thread.  I did the FCC deal as well and reported them.  I am really tired of getting junk faxes.  now that I have the link, I'll report each and every one of them from here on in....

This is a junk fax and obvious fraud. They use a fake ID in caller ID, which says Bank of America 1-205-967-5898. That does not match the name and number on the fax, which says Pacific Capital Finance Group, phone 917-460-4588 and fax 917-591-3168.

Just got a fax like the ones reported here, purportedly from Dave Thomas of Pacific Capital Finance Group.  Seems like if he were legit he would put my last name on the fax instead of my middle name and that he'd put my company name.

Luckily I have a computer set up to receive faxes so junk like this never gets printed, but still, it's illegal junk faxing.

Isn't "spammin" like this against the law?  I have no previous business relationship with this "company".  The fax has no "From:" fax number on the top of the fax.  I laugh at Stew Lance who said he has used these guys a few times....It's probably Dave Thomas!!

My boss (president-Johnny Mac's Sporting Goods) is receiving faxes from this guy. How can I get it stopped? He lists his fax as 917-591-3169 and his phone as 917-460-4588, same as many others I see on your website. Can we get this guy to stop?

I believe they buy list of state corporate filings where they get incorporation information. They then use the information to populate their junk faxes broadcasts.

Just my take of this.  We have received faxes like this often, all unkown solicitors.

I have used these guys a few times, i get their faxes. I financed a few of my trucks with them. Decent rates, relatively quick process times.

We just received a fax from "Dave Thomas" with the exact wording as you note, except it has one of my employers first name and middle initial (no last name).  I felt this may be a scam so I searched the web to see what I could find and came up with your post.

People should always investigate before responding to faxes like these.

I received several of these faxes in the last year. Says the same thing as above....Not a real company...Cant even find the company...Several companies with similar names, but this one isnt real.

This is exactly the way it was typed. Notice the end quotes (") are missing and it would also show at the beginning of the fax whom it was for. This is a rip off company.
