I just finally called them because i was getting called several times a day. They told me same thing. $49 mo magazine subscription. I owe $1400. I laughed so hard. I said no way, you send me something in the mail. I also told him. I Googled your number and its bogus there's no way im giving you any information over the phone and hung up. Insane!

Same thing for me, but i reported a large amount of money taken out of my bank account from this collection agency... bank investigated it and told me that I was in the right and they are not supposed to bother me anymore. i am about to raise hell, i'm sick of them still badgering me for money for a "magazine package" that i never even agreed to in the first place! ugh!

I am also getting calls from last 1 week, answered today and they were saying I need to pay off some unpaid ESPN magazine subscriptions. I called ESPN directly about this, they confirmed me I am not even a member to them :-) It is really bad that they are calling me daily after 10PM in the night.

This number calls me three times a day and then hangs up if I say hello. Really, really annoying! I just don't answer or I hang up now.

Had this same thing happen to me today.  What can be done besides reporting them?

Received a phone call from a supposed collections company stating that I owed x amount of money for a debt that I do not have.  She stated a settlement offer.

Called for another family member.  (paraphrased)
Organization?  Interstate Recovery...  and the representative gave a name.
What is the purpose of the call?  Cannot give details due to the personal nature.
Does it pertain to a company that we has done business with?  (I was thinking about the FTC's Do Not Call Rules)

Callback number 1-800-664-4946, which did not match the caller ID number.

After the 'target' and I had a brief discussion, we decided the main question was why the company had not contacted us by mail.  We decided to reveal very little information.

We called the number and asked for the representative by the name provided on the incoming call.  My family member stated his name when asked.
The representative said Did you know that your name has been reported to (some) credit agency?  No.  
The representative said something about trying to clear up the account.
My family member asked the representative to send the information by mail.
The representative said that the information would be sent by mail, but first there was a requirement to make an offer.
My family member said OK, send the information by mail and said thank you, and we hung up.

We should now have ample time to thoroughly examine what information might be sent and it will have to conform to U.S. Mail regulations.  

I think that next time I will just tell the caller to send the information by mail.  I think we may contact the bank about the call and we may report it on the FTC's website for Do Not Call violations.

Stated they were from a collection agency calling about an overdue bill for magazine bundle purchase in 2009. I would never approve $49/mo. for magazines! Needless to say, I gave him an ear full!

Someone from this number say's they are a collection agency and tries to get you to settle a debt that you don't even have. Threatens you with lower credit scores. Ask them for their contact imformation but they wouldn't give it.

i picked up the phone and there was no answer so i hung up. caller ID said LALANGUI CLAUDI. new york number.

Didn't answer in time some called back, no ring just a few beeps then lady answers this is Melissa  how can I help you, but I hung up......should of told her she can help me by not calling me and wasting the battery life on my cell phone
