I got a almost the same text but from a different number.... My text said you have been chosen to test and keep an iPhone 5 to apply go to blah blah blah .com P.S blah blah blah is not the actual website I just don't remember what it was.

I got a very similar message. only the last part changed.
"Hi, you have been Selected to Test and Keep the New iPhone 5 for Free! Confirm your spot right now at http://t31g.com/iphonemania"
I thought it was spam. I have AT&T service, so I wonder if the difference is the carrier.

I got the same txt msg on 8/28. Can't call the number.. it's a non-working number. I think you can go to your verizon website and block numbers. You may be able to block 917-xxx-xxxx numbers. They appear to be ones linked to spam/phone txt's

I'm with verizon and the text woke me up as well. At 2am in the morning. I'm still awake because I have insomnia and have difficulty falling asleep. Thank you random texter.

Got the same text about testing the iphone5. I texted "STOP" back hope it works. The text came in at 4:03 AM. To the others who got the same text, if you dont mind my asking what phone carrier are you with? I'm with Verizon. I ask because I'm curious if we all have the same provider.

I got a text message from this number, here it is: "Hi, you have been Selected to Test and Keep the New iPhone 5 for Free! Confirm your spot right now at http://t31g.com/freeiphone5"
I checked domainsecure.com, and t31g.com isn't registered to anybody, so I'm guessing that it is just someone pranking people, rather than anyone trying to spread a virus or something. Either way, I would ignore the calls.
