So, now you're calling me stupid Tara?! Thanks so much!! I haven't paid them anything. I was asking about if I paid them...... Oh, and just so you know you can get a preoloaded card for a one time payment and then shut the card off. I wouldn't give them the debit card for my checking account. I never said they are upstanding or trustworthy. I guess since your pic and number aren't on a site that says you're a prostitute to be found by all the search engines it doesn't matter much to you does it?! It matters to me though, seeing as this is MY PIC, MY NUMBER, and MY LIFE & REPUTATION on the line here. Nowadays, people Google names and numbers for everything from dating to looking up a job applicant. Even if it's not true, those kind of accusations can cost you a job or worse......
This thread should not be about attacking someone here that is frustrated from being attacked by whomever has this number. It should be about reporting these jerks and being aware of them

Paid them how? By punching in your debit card info? On a site that's clearly upstanding and trustworthy? Smart move!

So, it's basically blackmail for unfounded accusations. Lovely :-( How do I keep them from reposting my pic and number after I pay to remove it though? That's what concerns me the most.

Sounds like a variant of the "Free Speech Store" site whose owner posts libelous items about certain people and will remove them for a fee...

I got a text from this number saying I had been listed on a website for girls being accused of being prostitutes. I won't say the name of the website. It had a link to the website showing a page with a very old modeling picture (never before published) that was obviously stolen and my cell phone number. The site requires you to pay to remove the profile, or risk having the profile show up when someone does a web search on your phone number. I was utterly mortified, and am in the process of getting it removed, which I guess can take days depending on search sites. I may have to change my number now because even though I am not a prostitute just the accusation of it could cause me a lot of problems. This is some kind of scam targeting one's reputation to get money. You cannot sue the website either due to some "decency" law. It is utterly sickening to think someone would do this to someone else. Whoever has this number is one seriously sick and twisted individual.
