This is just to let computer companies like IBM and HP and EMC know of your network needs and how they can help out in deploying better networks.

I just did a litt;e research on "AL YORK" and his calls. They originate from a landline in sumpter Alabama. Probably a double wide trailer w/ a long table, a bank of landline phones and a gaggle of two pack a day obese retired cosmotologists divircees. Get the picture??

used to work for Harte Hanks here in San Diego,   Pretty much if they are calling it is to see if you are buying anything for your IT environment for next year.  Most of the time they are calling for a computer company called EMC.  It is legit, and they just put u in contact with EMC,  but then again they have many other campaigns.  As for people calling with strong accents I believe that Harte Hanks is located Internationally as well.
If you want to be removed from list, next time they call...tell them you are that person they are looking for, and ask to be placed on do not call list.....

When I worked there we simply put them on the DNC list and they were taken off...dont know about the people not in usa.

They don't have to have an "office" in India for you to receive calls from India. It's called outsourcing.

Got a call from the same number today.  The guy had a strong foreign accent and when I told him we had an IT department that handled all our computer information, he said he didnt need to talk to them, I could just answer the questions.  As I was explaining that I am not at liberty to discuss our computer system with him....the jerk hung up.

Our office assistant keeps getting calls from 917-595-1700 with a very push man with a thick (indian?) accent who keeps asking about our networking setup.  Anytime she offers to transfer the guy to a tech person he hangs up before she has a chance.  Which is a real shame as I'd love to get a chance to talk to this guy and find out a few things about his company.

Our company has gotten this call before from Harte-Hanks.  This particular time it was an Indian(?) sounding woman that said that she needed to verify information they already had on our company about our computer system.  The previous time I told the person that she needed to speak to our IT dept.  She was insistent that I could answer her question(s).  I told her I don't have the authority to release that info and that I would be transferring her call.  She hung up after I initiated the transfer.  Today, the woman agreed to be transferred on my first try, but then hung up before I could get her transferred.  BEWARE!!  This could be a fraud, integrity-test, or primary-research firm.  The area code, if American, came up as cell phones, etc. from the buroughs of New York City and occasionally landlines in Manhattan.

A man with a very thick indian accent called me a few minutes ago (at work) and he wouldn't give me his company name or say his name. The call sounded like it was coming from VERY far away (he was faint and there was a fair amount of static on the line).
He said that he wanted to confirm the computer information we had given him last year. He new a sales person's name and he knew the branch managers name (first and last).
I said they were in meetings (I'm the gatekeeper!) and he said that I could answer the questions. I told him I couldn't because computers are in offices that are locked. I offered our head office's phone number a few times but he said he only wanted the information at our location. Eventually I just spoke over him and said 'here is the number for head office... goodbye'.

It sounds like a scam... trying to get information so they can hack into our systems and steal information, maybe? I have no idea, but I would suggest not giving information out!

Received a call from a woman with a HEAVY Indian accent.   She spoke very fast and stated she needed to verify information they already had on our company about our computer system.  I asked her to spell her company name which she said very fast and I kept responding with (Sorry, could you say that again, I am not able to write as fast you talk"  I pressed on by asking her whom they had originally obtained the information from she needed verified and exactly when it was obtained. She was insistent that I could answer her question(s). I just kept trying to get her companies information until she hung up on me.

This is the 5th call in as many months for a Technology survey from the company Harte Hanks.  Callers have an Indian accent.  Each time I have asked them to remove me from thier call list, but they just keep calling back.  I reported this to the FCC today.

Our company has received three calls from this number in as many weeks.  I keep telling them that I will NOT give them any information on our computers or network capabilities, and that they should remove me from their calling list.

Perhaps their heavy accents prevent them from understanding plain English!
