right because as a customer the call becomes a courtesy call to let you know tis times to renew. the call i got was for tv repair. Now as it is a call center these calls can be legit or not legit. In other words some companies use call centers to save cost. Farmed out tech work is very common. A company would rather loose a few 100 a month from a few return customers than loose the customer. so they will farm out the work to other companies when they are just to busy.

In other words people be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water. If nothing else try to find out the companies main phone number the call center guy is calling for and call them directly

Telemarketer
Rec'd a call from them this morning.  Said the company names was Yext.  What came up on the caller I was NWYRCYZNO1NY.  I said we're on a no call list and to remove our name.  He said he was responding to an inquiry from us and I said no you're not.  Had something to do with making our web site more visible.  I hung up on him.

I get solicitations at work ALL the time for Engineering magazines.  I never answer my phone any longer due to this.  They NEVER leave a message.  I believe American companies have outsourced Magazine subscription renewals to India.  I have been polite in the past.  When I do answer they always ask many invasive questions such as "When will I be purchasing Engineering Software in the Future" and what my financial purchasing authority in Dollar terms is.  I believe they use Proffesional Magazines as a way to develop Mailing and Phone lists and then sell these names back to American Companies.  I will cancel all Magazine subscriptions that use outsourced callers in the future....  Too busy at work for this nonsence...

Not the first time this number has called my unlisted, prepaid cell phone. Till now I just ignored because they left no message.

They called today but I was on the phone already. Curiousity got the best of me, so when I got off the phone I called the number back. Guy with an Indian accent answered (after 1 ring). I said I had gotten a call from this number and wanted to know why they called. He said several companies make outgoing calls from this number so he doesn't know who called me but if I give him my number, they will call me back.

I declined since "I don't know who you are and apparently *you* don't know who you are!". It would have been meaningless for me to ask him not to call me back, since he professes not to know my number, and I will not provide it to him.

I was stupid enough to take the call. It's an Indian telemarketer from Storage Magazing forcing a free subscription down your throat. Even after telling her I'm not anywhere close to the Storage business.

Received phone but before I answer they hung up.  Used call log to call back.  Sounds like same Indian guy on other end.  I asked who called and he said they were a switch board for several companies and wanted my phone number to check to see who called.  I declined and asked not to be bothered any more.

"John" from a call center in India to renew my eWeek subscription, which I had renewed via email just 2 weeks prior to the phone call.  I played along and they had all of my contact information including business name, mailing address, phone and fax numbers and even email addresses. Caller ID only showed phone number.

Yea they just called me right now claiming to have free IT magazine subscription. I told him no, he's kept insisting that I need it since I am an IT professional. I got irritated and hung up. Reported to the National Do Not Call list. I suggest you guys do the same too. These guys call me a lot.

Yep, they're supposedly "updating" my contact info for a freebee IT magazine subscription. At first I thought it was Ziff Davis Publishing, since the calls all asked about publications that they produce, but now I'm not so sure it's them but a call center that has somehow gotten my info. They routinely call me every day, but I've tagged the phone number to display "do not answer" in my cell phone and just ignore them.
