I too sell AVON products and have gotten the exact emails (about her working on a movie set in Alaska) and text from a so called April Weiss she used to use this # (209) 217-1151 I had agreed to do business with her until she sent me an email saying there had been a mistake with my payment and her art director by mistake were mailing me her flight reimbursement, and if i could send her the balance via western union. so i decided to look her up and this is were i am now. i plan to let the the ups post office know about it and provide them with the emails and text she sent me. I hope no one falls for her scams. some of us are just trying to make an honest living

I got this email from this person today.  They have the same phone number.
I am going along with it to see how far I can get before I completely go off.  I hate people that try and scam other hard working people!!!!

Hello, thanks a lot for getting back to me, I'm terribly sorry for my belated response, we've been extremely swamped the past few days. I'm a photographer with a new modeling agency from Manhattan NY, we are coming to your town for a photo shoot in the middle of next month and we would like to order the items listed below,  I could have just ordered them from the Mary Kay website but the director of art is paying for them so I'm gonna need you to please help me to order them: I realize this is perhaps a relatively large order so we're willing to pay in advance:

MAKE UP:
Mary Kay® True Dimensions? Lipstick .11 oz. (Pink Chérie) (Qty 2)
TimeWise® Age-Fighting Lip Primer .05 oz. (Qty 1)
Mary Kay® Lip Liner .01 oz. (Neutral) (Qty 1)
Mary Kay® Creme Lipstick.13 oz.  (Maple) (Qty 1)
TimeWise Luminous-Wear® Liquid Foundation (Beige 2) 1 fl. oz. (Qty 1)

BODY & SUN:
Mary Kay® Hydrating Lotion 6.5 fl. oz. (Qty 1)
Mary Kay® Sun Care Lip Protector Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15* .16 oz. (Qty 2)

Please get back to me ASAP with the total cost and including the sales tax I'm to pay for those items and also the Name and Address where you want the payment sent to including a phone number I could reach you on in case of necessity. After I receive this information I would ask my sponsor to send you the payment which would be in form of a Cashier's Check which can be cashed instantly at your bank. Please get back to me as soon as possible so we can continue with the purchase, I will personally come to pick up the items in person as soon as we get to your town.
I'll be looking forward to hearing from you.
    Thank you.

Karen Houser.

Here's another phoney, just got this today!

Hi there,
I'm James Roberts, a Certified Payroll Specialist (CPS), I am 49 years old and I travel a lot because I work in some other sectors too but what I do primarily is print and handle the dispatch of payroll checks and letters of each company I work with, I've been quite busy the past few months and I'm extemporaneously in need of someone trustworthy, smart, reliable and diligent with experience in printing and scanning of documents that could help me handle some work because of my busy schedule, It's a part time job and only 4 hours of your time would be needed in a week that means it leaves you time to do other stuff/work you might need to. The job being part-time I'm going to start with $40/hr with you which is $640 per month and the rate might increase with time. The prepaid shipping labels from USPS and FedEx would be arranged and sent to you for the dispatch of the printed letters and checks.
The following materials would be required to start the job:
1) A personal reliable computer system with access to the internet. (Communication via instant messenger may be required yahoo or MSN)
2) A reliable printer (Brand and model number must be specified)
3) A scanner (Ability to scan documents is required)
The offer here is a very authentic one and I need to emphasize that this is a job that must be taken seriously if you intend to take it of course because you may be handling some sensitive materials.
Please email me at jroberts757@yahoo.com or simply reply to this email if you are interested for more information. I could also be reached at (917) 719-1534, leave a message or text.
Thanks.
James Roberts (CPS).

Think! Think! Paid $40. an hour to scan & print? Only 8 hours a week, but you'll be paid $1000. a month?  ". . .do other stuff/work. . ." Now that sounds VERY business like. Oh by the way. You do know that you'll be printing phoney checks for this guy & then mailing them out to people? Guess who gets a visit from the police when it hits the fan? So yes, it's a scam. Just so you know, 100% of job offers by email & text are fake.

I am an Avon representative and just noticed I had a new customer on my website. When I looked at it, there was ONLY an email address.  zilk500@halogensecuritycompany.us
Anytime, I see a new customer and they are only willing to give an email address, I just ignore it & delete them from my address book.  I didn't even give him a chance to discuss payment & delivery.  Can't afford the after math.....

Hi Donna, No I have never received an email about something like this. Another rep sent me an email that she got one. I don't think she gave me a phone number. Any time you get an email where they want to order some item and thy are from out of state and want to pay with a check & have you courier pick up the order it is a scam. Another rep sent me an email that the same thing happened to her. One of our reps that has been selling to a long time got something like this last year.
You might want to alert police that is happened to you. They may put out a posting to alert others of this.
Last year a rep that has been selling to many years got something like this. She called me to see what I thought and I told her it is a scam.
If you have any other questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact me.
