Prank Call
Man with thick accent said what I thought was.... " I am calling from the Civil Service." I said, " Why is the civil service calling me? I'm not in the civil service." He hung up without saying another word. I see by other posts he may have been trying to say Card Services in English. I blocked the number from further calls.

I've been receiving calls daily for weeks from these people.  I've asked to be removed from call list and put on hold to wonderful elevator music.

They call nonstop, offering to help me save on credit card fees.  I have told them repeatedly I don't have a credit card and to stop calling.  Then they will just call again an hour later, but from a different number. They need to be locked up.

I just got a call from these people, but my phone shows the number calling, and if I don't recognize the caller, I just don't answer. My internet provider has a feature that shows me who has called and I looked up the number using Google. Saves a lot of hassle.

After about 3 rings, my answer machine picks up. Usually the caller just hangs up without leaving a message.

I received two calls from "Card Services" today, the first to my cell phone, the second to my land line.  I've received at least 40 or 50 calls from the outfit since late August 2012.  Their phone numbers keep changing.  The call to the land line today was from 917-732-9011 per my Caller ID.  917 is a NY Cellular Area Code.  The call to my Cell Phone was from [No Name] at 425-406-9024.  425 is a Washington State Area Code.  They claim that they can help get the interest rates reduced on credit cards you have on which the interest rate is high and you owe at least $10,000, or sometimes $3,000.   Many times I pressed "3" to be removed from their lists, but they keep calling.  Lately I often press "1" and sometimes try to play them along to waste their time before telling them to quit calling me.  Sometimes I get right to the point to tell them to quit calling me.  Tonight I got into a nice heated exchange giving bad advice, "go ...."
I think that their intent is identity theft -- to get you spill your guts about name, address, credit card account numbers, amounts owed, SSAN, and probably more.   I suppose that they call back out of orneriness, and on the chance that they might catch somebody drunk or very tired, or in some other altered state of mind in which he will make a mistake and reveal stuff that shouldn't be revealed.  They claim that they already have all of your info.
The "Call Type" pull down list should include "Likely Identity Theft Fishing".  Since it is not offered, I picked "Unknown."

And...what good would it do to report it?
No one's going to DO anything about it are they??
To whom am I "reporting" it to anyway? Whocallsme.com???
What good can that possibly do?
These idiots have been calling me for months...
If anyone could do anything about it...it would have been done by now!

This is the second robocall I got this morning, different number but with the same auto message.  Since they are not interested in getting any business from you (they will not supply any company info but only want YOUR info), I'm curious to know their motive.  I would put this kind of robocalls in the category of "domestic terrorism".

This call comes in approximately monthly. The recorded (female) message always talks over the answering machine's greeting to let me know that this is my "last chance" to "lower the rate on my credit card"... no mention of which card and no "company" identification is ever made.
