I just had the same thing to happen to me and she contacted me about a print ad for the House of Dereon, stating that the shoot was April 13-14th, in New York city and that it paid $3,000. She directed me to the same site, however, I begin to drill her with questions and told her that I needed something in writing which I've yet to receive. The entire process just didn't feel right and my red flag went up. If you're reading this Vicki, shame on you for attempting to scam people.
This is definately a scam.
It was a casting call posted on craigslist for the House of Deron looking for models for a photo shoot. After submitting pictures I received a text message asking for the time for where I was located. Then a message inviting me to a conference call. The call itself seemed legit, but It did not feel right in all my years of working in this industry. The next day I recieved a phone call that I missed, then a text saying Vicki was trying to get in contact with me and to call back. I called back... there was a voice mail message I left a message and then sent a text saying I was trying to call. I immediately recieved a call back and Vicki says they want to move forward with me on the photo shoot. She asked if I was represented by an agency then asked if I had a portfolio. She told me to go on to her website and register with the new york modeling association, because if I had no representation I would need it in order to do this shoot. I asked Vicki if there was anything else she needed from me. Like did she need to meet me? She says no. I ask if this was a scam? I asked her was I going to have to pay anything? She says no, but the association does ask you to pay a small annual fee... she says like $60 but its not like $500 -$900 like I thought. She goes on to tell me there will be about 10 girls on the shoot the hotel and travel is paid for. I ask... approaching April what will you need from me? April is when the shoot was scheduled. She says well I already have your measurement... which she did not and then added some other unbelievable things and said that I should just go to this site and register then call her back.
Vicki's site www.victoriouscasting.com is powered by wordpress.com which means its not a real webpage. And once you click on the link for this association it looks almost legit then you click on the link to make the payment and the source for the page is a company called
Fleming Photography [new york modeling asscociation] and the fee is $60 and then $10 per month after the initial payment. Who are these people. ????
Yeah I was apart of a conference call from this number yesterday and I immediatly knew that Iit had to be a scam if they were asking for $60 as pay for registration....why would I pay $60 for representation that makes no sense...everyone knows that an agency pays you then they recieve commission there are no upfront fees, they dont get paid unless you get paid. I hope the other girls on the call googled the number. I definitly will be telling everyone I know about this scam.
Im sorry that you all either didnt get picked, or didnt follow through with the casting. I was on a conference call about 2 months ago and I actually did book a modeling job with Victorious Casting and had representation from the New York Modeling Association. I booked a spokesmodel spoke for the All Star game.
can you all give the websites or info that you looked up that let you know that this was a scam? thanks!
I knew this was a scam. I will call in for the conference call & kindly tell the woman to kiss my a**!!! This b***s*** happened to me before & luckily I didn't fall for it then.
She apparently has more than one number, likely to throw off aspiring models. I was attending a "House of Dereon" casting and a model on the conference call I attended asked her where the company was located and she stated "Atlanta" with much hesitation. If a company is looking for models they might go to an out of state agency but definitely not to a booker. No model is required to PAY to get paid...I hope that the other ladies I was on the call with did at least a google search as well. Thanks for the heads up, it was all I needed to confirm the many red flags!
I received a text about a Christian Louboutin print ad. I originally saw the ad on craigslist. So the text says for me to call at a specific time for a conference call. I call and the person conducting its name is Vicki. So she asks us about previous modelling history and tells us there will be an event in New York City March 21- 23 and their paying $400/hr and they will pay for airfare and hotel to NYC. But we have to register for representation in order to get the job. We have to do it within 48 hrs. After the conference call she sends an email with their website Victorious Casting and a link to the representation company which is called New York Modeling Association. So the next day she calls and asks if I've registered and I didn't so I asked when is the event and she sounds confused then she says March 23 & 24. No other info regarding the event or anything. So I go online to research the company and they want me to pay $60.00 to register. So I did a search about the company and find out its a SCAM! I'm just hoping the other 6 women that were on the conference call didn't pay for this crap!
