I got it too. Seemed suspicious so I deleted it. Obviously my account has not been locked.
I am surprised that I am the first one to comment on this number. This is a spam text that claims to be from Verizon Wireless. It states that it is from an unverified sender and gives the above #. It then tells the recipient that their cell phone account has been locked and that they need to reply to a web site. http://m.wireless-updates2.com and update their login info.
First of all, when Verizon sends their customers a text they always state that it a 'free text from Verizon.' These texts are never unverified as this one is and they have never had a 917 area code # attached to them. Also, Verizon does not lock cusstomers' accounts. Anyone that has an account with them should know the web address already, and the one given in the text is not even affiliated with Verizon. The real Verizon web page has the name of their company in it as well.
I am curious to know how the spammers have designed the false webpage; if it even looks like the true one, I would probably go look at it, but I am afraid that just by going the website, an unwanted virus might be obtained automatically.
