Asked about my account at HSBC and a security deposit. The call back number is 1-800-395-555 which is not a legitimate number. Sounds like a scam.

this is a valid number for HSBC credit services.

They're NOT HSBC. I called the HSBC fraud department using the phone number on the back of my credit card to check out this number they left on my voice mail. HSBC said it is not one of their phone numbers, but someone trying to get my information.

This is a scammer trying to get your personal information and credit card number. Do not give them any information and report them to the credit card company they are pretending to be.
They called pretending to be HSBC and left a toll free number for the fraud department and asked for the card number and SSN. HSBC will never do that. Also they give a reference number when they call and leave a message to call back.

I recently aquired a Best Buy Reward Zone Master Card and they called a couple days later from this number (918-384-4000) to verify my account. This is *not* a spam or fraud call.
