I just got a call from this number, which I missed. I called back and they knew who I was without me identifying myself, caller id! They asked me for the last 4 digits of my social security number to verify that it was me. I asked what this was about and the "lady" said she needed to confirm who I was before she could tell me anything. I told her that I was not going to confirm anything until she told me what this was about. She replied that she already had all my information and that this was in regards to an application. I proceeded to inform her that I have not applied for anything and she adviced me of the same as she had before. At this point I hung up on her. SCAM!!!!

Call 5 or 6 times a day; the number comes up with Oklahamo as the name; at first, I let it go to voicemail because I have no idea who it is, but they never leave a message.  I recently started just answering and putting my cell phone down; I have unlimited minutes on my cell, so make them pay the long distance charges; no one is ever on the line anyway!

I, too am receiving calls from these ingrates.  Because I have asked them not to call me, they have stepped up the number of timed they are calling each day. Incidentally, I am listed on the national Do Not Call registry.  So, their calls are illegal.  How do I get them to stop calling me?  I am so tired of this process.  When they can't get you, if they have your relatives number they will call and threaten them!

Read all about debt collection rules here http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm which states if a collector threatens court action, he *must* go through with it and the threat is illegal if he doesn't go through with it.
"Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:
   * you will be arrested if you don?t pay your debt;
   * they?ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
   * legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don?t intend to take the action."

The FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf *requires* debt collectors to give debtors *written* notice of debt on pages 11 and 12. The key word is "shall" in paragraph 809(a).
"§ 809. Validation of debts
(a) Within five days after the initial communication with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt, a debt collector shall, unless the following information is contained in the initial communication or the consumer has paid the debt, send the consumer a written notice containing?
(1) the amount of the debt;
(2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;
(3) a statement that unless the consumer, within thirty days after receipt of the notice, disputes the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed to be valid by the debt collector;
(4) a statement that if the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, the debt collector will obtain verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment against the consumer and a copy of such verification or judgment will be mailed to the consumer by the debt collector; and
(5) a statement that, upon the consumer?s written request within the thirty-day period, the debt collector will provide the consumer with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor."

If you've debt in collections, be aware that it never goes away. It gets sold on to other collectors who'll try to collect on it. If any can get a court judgment against you, you will end up paying the debt, perhaps with garnished wages (if the debt's real). The debt will keep growing from accruing interest, penalties and collection costs though what can be legally charged varies from state to state. You have the additional burden of deciding if any collection call is real or a scam and to deal with either accordingly - a very uncomfortable position to be in.

If you've no debt in collections, then it's a scam and should be reported to the Internet Crime Complaint Center http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG. Buy a whistle or air horn and blow their ears off, God will forgive.

I get calls from this number 918-442-0305 about more than 5 times in 1 day. This guy by the name of Allen Watson calls and is demandng that I have to solve a debt and if I don't pay then I'm going to jail. It is not star cash processing, they call your phone number then presses a number which brings them to change the phone number to the numbers that are listed as what they are to show through the caller ID so when you call back some one picks up as star cashing. I have NO LOANS. When I asked what I have to pay back and more information about it, he wouldn't tell me he said his boss Roy Gonzalez is the attourney for United Law Firm and gave me this phone # 760-582-0313. I looked it up and there was all these posting routed to the same thing. Allen even changed his phone # to show up on my caller ID as if he called me from my work, I called work the next morning and they said no by that name came in. This has gotten very disturbing and the weird thing is they even have my personal info. These people are going to call you from morning to night, please report this.
