These people call at least 3 times a day asking for my brother.  Also call my brother's job.   I have told them at least 30 times he is hearing impaired and cannot hear on the phone. They then ask me if I am his wife. I tell them no.  They then ask if I have power of attorney and I say  noone has power of attorney and ask them to correspond with him in writing which he never does.  He has been harassed by other  irreputable agencies trying to commit fraud on him even threatening him.

We were left subject to this because someone got his info when we did have to get payday loans to cover costs when we were purchasing a home.  Every single one of these loans have been paid off as they were paid out of his account.

I am prepared to lie the next time and tell them I am his wife just to get them to leave us alone.  I am also considering filing harassment charges against the company with our local sheriff department, not that they will do anything.

Just do not give them information or money.

They called & asked for my brother. When I said "He's not in, may I take a message?" the guy didn't reply but I could hear him still breathing on the phone. I finally hung up on him but it was weird to me that he would be on the phone not saying anything.

Kim..why are you paying anybody that does not give you there address,,never pay a debt collector until you get all the info..the name of there company..address and phone number and then ask if there licensed to collect in your state,,if there not licensed to collect in your state then you dont have to pay them and they cant do anything about it..if they do give you a license number then check it out remember your dealing with low life sleazy lying debt collectors.
never give your banking info to a debt collector, also if you believe you should pay then use money orders never use your checking account...why you ask.because your banks name and account and routing number is on the check and they will debit your bank account until there is no money left.
also go to ASK.COM AND TYPE IN   WHAT STATES ARE ILLEGAL FOR A PDL..you will get a list of 15-20 states and that means to you they were not license to loan you money and they will never take you to court because all you have to say to the judge is..I JUST FOUND OUT THERE NOT LICENSE TO LOAN MONEY IN OUR STATE...the judge will dismiss your case and fine them thousands of dollars..
K im change your bank account info RIGHT NOW....

This is a firm trying to collect for online loans.  I had to close my checking account because they were taking double the amount as agreed.  Then, the day before payday, they tried to debit my account for $786.00 which was more then double the amount borrowed.  My bank intervened and stopped payment on any attempts by them to debit my account.  If you can get an address, write them a letter and tell them you don't want them to contact you regarding any business matter.  They are bound by law not to contact you again for any reason.

If I can get the address, I'll post it:)

Recently my company got a 2nd phone line. We are pretty small, so I answer both lines all day long. I got a call from 918-442-9119 and they hung up right after I said "Hello!" The caller ID said AML REC. So I call the number back and I say "Hello, you just called and hung up on me?" We then figured out that the woman was looking for a Tina So-In-So and promised that we would not be called again.

But still, is that a sound tactic? Calling and hanging up on people? Because I wouldn't pay a dime to people like that.

This number has contacted a place of employment which is harrassment.  I don't know who or what they want but it's really annoying.  I am going to report this number to the BBC and see if something can be done about the situation.

UCL Rec and 500fc rec keeps calling for my son, who says it'sn a scam, now after reading these posts, I believe it. He's told them to stop calling-as well as i-to no avail- I've threatened them with our state attorney general, calls still come in.I'll follow up with it first thing next week.
If that doesn't work, a plane ticket to their location seems really tempting right now- their harrassment is an understatement! Would like to know how others have resolved this intrusion. Better to ignore?

OMG!!!! We changed our home phone number literally one week ago. Since then, I have had so many... really, I've lost count... of collection calls for like 5 different people. REALLY? Now, I am going to be forced to change my home number again... and this time I am not paying the fee to have it changed. I am also requesting a number that has not been used before (if possible) or at least for a long, long time.
Anyway,
Im taking some personal time off due to my Dad passing away. I've noticed this number 918-442-0306, UCL REC. I know this is a Oklahoma number because we used to live in SW Missouri, near the state lines. I answered thinking maybe someone we know or something business related to or old jobs or my husbands client base. But, even that was a far stretch for me. Anyone we know from MO, OK & KS that we still keep in touch with have our cell numbers and email info.
So, the call went like this:
ME: Hello, you keep calling my number, it is a new number and I keep getting calls for 5 different names. Who are you calling for? Again, I have only had this number for a little over a week. Can you please mark it as a not good number for whoever you are trying to contact and stop calling me?
--What is you name? (yes, that is how the lady said it)
ME:I'm sorry, but I don't think that is important. YOU are calling for someone other than me. Like I said, this is a new number for me.
---Wow, there is no reason for you to cop an attitude with me lady. All I asked for is your name. I need your name to search our database. IF in fact you are not who we are calling for then I can remove you. But you have to tell me your name and don't lie.
ME: You do not need MY name. YOU are calling for someone else, not me. (then I proceeded to give her the 5 names I have received calls for over the past week).
---So, are you any of those people? I think you are lying about your name.
(at this point, please keep in mind, I have recently lost my father. I am not in the mood to deal with this S@%T. I'm trying to keep my cool)
ME: What the hell kind of company are you and who are you trying to contact? I told you, THIS IS A NEW PHONE NUMBER FOR ME. Are you F'N stupid? You have no need for MY information. I AM NOT WHO YOU ARE TRYING TO CONTACT, I PROMISE. Lady, I am dealing with my fathers death right now, taking personal time to handle his final business. If I or my husband or even my father owed anyone, I think I would know. You won't even tell me who you are calling for so, why should I give you ANY information? I have money and plenty of it. We work hard and have been very blessed. I'm not rich, but I damn sure dont owe anyone. We dont even own any credit cards. The only bills we have are our housing and utilities & insurance, no car payments, or anything. I assure you, I am not the person you want. So, lets start over, here are the names of the people I am receiving calls for. If the person you are looking for is not one, then its a new person I have not received a call on yet. Please take my number out of your system like the other KIND representatives of the companies that have called have done for me.
--- I's not collecting money. You put your name on an application and I need to verify yous information.
ME: Whatever, you can't even keep your story straight... bye.

How annoying. This is the last thing I want to deal with right now.

My elderly mother keeps getting a call from a similar number 9184420356. I have no doubt it probably is a payday loan company. She has never asked for or had any type of services like this in her life and whats more how on earth did they get her cell number? I'd stay away!

they keep calling my house. I usually just pick up and hang up on them. after so many times, I got tired of doing that, so finally answered to get a voice recording asking for my elderly, disabled mother. I ignored it, hung up and got online to google the number, as I do with all suspicious calls I get. after reading these reviews, I decided to call them back and talk with them directly (mainly because I was bored and wanted to see what kind of lies they'd tell me) when I called, I got a feale recording "thank you for calling us back, we appreciate your business. please call back during business hours. our hours are Monday through Friday, 7am to 9pm" and it hung up

funny considering this is a SUNDAY around 1pm in the afternoon!!!

if your business hours are Monday though Friday, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING CALLING MY HOUSE ON A SUNDAY?!?!

UPDATE - They called my wife was home and talked to her.
First suspicious thing they did was refuse to provide info.  They would say things like, "What address on XXXXXXX street are you on?"  When my wife said, "If you tell me what address you have I can confirm it, but I am not giving you my address," they just asked another vague question.  They also asked for her social which if this was legit they would know.  Also, reading what this company has done, I had warned my wife to give ZERO info, just confirm info.
Anyway, my wife, who has a better memory than me, remembered that she had to close out a bank account about 2 1/2 years ago due to fraud and that it was a payday loan company that was involved in it (the person with her account info used it to secure a loan).  So she asked what the date was on when this loan was taken out.
Lee, the name of the woman on the phone, refused to give a date.
She then kept badgering my wife and gave her a story that if she just paid up, my wife could then go to the cops and get the money back (false).
My wife refused and asked them to send, in writing all the info they had on the loan.
She was told that they don't send ANYTHING out by mail.  Great, no paper trail.
Then, Lee said that they (the payday loan company) were going to trace the ip address on the loan and that it was obvious my wife was lying and that we could expect the police to arrive if we didn't pay up.
But of course just one small payment could make this go away.
Threats.  Nice.

My wife hung up then.

It should be noted that if you DO pay them they can then turn around and claim that you legally took responsibility for the loan.

Just got a call from them...well, MANY calls.
They robo called my house for a long time and the message went something like this.
"We are calling for (literally like 2 seconds of nothing) regarding an urgent matter.  If you are (another 2 seconds of silence) please press 1 now."  Really professional there.  I was in a bad mood today so I pressed 1.  Turns out they wanted my wife.  Here is how it went -
"Hi, you guys keep calling my house.  What is this regarding?"
Rep (who BTW could barely string words together...she kept using wrong tenses and things like that.  VERY UNPROFESSIONAL SOUNDING!) - "Are you Jo?"
"No, I am her husband.  What do you want?"
"Can I talks (yes, she said talks) to Jo please?"
"She isn't here.  Can you tell me what your company does?"
"We are an online company."
"What does that mean?"
"We are an online company."
"All companies are online now.  That makes no sense.  What do you DO?"
"We are a payday loan company."
"Well, we don't do those.  Please don't call again."
"Can I speak to Jo please?"
"No, she isn't here and we don't do payday loans, please stop soliciting us."
(here she got REALLY mad for some reason)
"I ain't soliciting!  May I speak to Jo please?"
"Well, I know that she hasn't taken out any loans, so you must be trying to sell one.  Please stop calling."
"I's collecting on her loan SIR!"
"She hasn't taken one out ever, so you must be mistaken." (this is a fact as my wife makes REALLY good money AND has the fortune to get paid weekly, so we tend to have a nice stable flow of money coming in.  We are VERY lucky in this regard).
"Sir I can't discuss this with you."
"If you can't discuss it with me, then why are you calling MY phone?" (we have individual phones like many people now)
"Sir, this is urgent."
"Sales aren't urgent. Especially when you don't want to buy anything.  Please don't call here again."
"I has to collect a debt sir."

By now I am REALLY mad and decide to see what she will do when confronted by cold facts.

"We don't have a debt with you.  And companies like yours which prey upon the ignorant often lie about who owes them money and then shake them down.  If my wife owes you any money, you will have no problem sending us all records of the debt, including all transfers and sales of that debt.  You have our address.  Please stop calling, and send us proof of the debt."
"I don't has to do nuthin!" (seriously her grammar was HIDEOUS) "Your wife owes us monies."
"Then you will have no problem proving it."
"Would I be callin you if she didn't owes us monies?"
"Yes.  Because your industry is full of crooks and thieves."
"WHATCHOO CALL ME?"
"Thief."
*click*

Was it something I said?

Anyway, ALWAYS ASK FOR PROOF IN WRITING!  It really shakes out the thieves from the legit callers.
