I have not seen a doctor in over 10 years but they kept hounding me that I owed a medical bill from last year. I have told them they must have the wrong person but they keep insisting that it is me. I told them to sue me. Have not heard from them in 2 months.

This is a legit attorneys office with a collection department. They don't say who they are with or what it's pertaining to because of legal guidelines set for such firms. They will file suit if you meet the criteria and their client decides to proceed. If you have a suit filed against you and don't pay or set up an arrangement they will garnish your wages. They are nice, previous debt experience with them, willing to work with you. They are just trying to collect money for services rendered to you by a medical facility.

If they send you a letter on it, in that letter it states that you can dispute that you owe that bill and they have to go back to the medical provider and make sure that the balance is correct.  If you want a medical bill ask the medical provider, that's what I've always done and it's worked....hopefully it will continue to.

Actually I don't work for them, but i do work in the field and know the laws. Most places set up a payment plan and if you miss a payment they garnish your wages. 95% of law offices in debt collection work this way it's nothing new or illegal. I'm sorry your luck has been so bad but bills are bills and life doesn't stop moving because bad things happen. But before you jump on a bandwagon of hate towards works and lentz understand the hospital turned your over to them they are doing what the hospital has asked them to do.

You can't be sued over medical bills. What are they going to do? Put you in prison for being unable to pay over $100,000.00 in medical? What a genius idea. 'They can't pay us so lets make them a burden of the state.' So smart.

To the rude debt collector. Why is it people forget what it's like to struggle the minute they are on the other end of the  spectrum. Don't be such  jerk. Your a debt collector that's nothing special. Try watching the men who serve your country turned into hamburger meat than come home to rude unruly unforgiving folks. Most of you are idiots! Pay your bills and they won't call you, magic huh? 2nd they don't OWN the debt, they did not pay it off. They collect for the hospital. Yes, they will sue you if you don't pay, it's a law office smart one. Why is your original bill 1,400 now it's 2,000? Because you were taken to court and now you have been charged attorney fees. Pay it when it's due and magically...no other fees crazy isint it? Blowing up a building? For trying to collect a debt YOU owe...smooth. Some of you should really learn oklahoma law before you start typing on one of these. Do research, credit card debt and medical debt are not under the same laws so stop comparing them.

Works and Lentz isn't a bottom feeder collection agency. They are legitimate and they have been in Tulsa for many years. They are a physician's office or hospital's last resort for collection before they sue you in court. If you owe a doctor or hospital some money and don't pay it after their inside collection attempts, they turn your account over to Works and Lentz.

It is very legal to charge interste on outstanding medical bills Most medical providers charge interest on the outstanding balances at each billing cycle. Our office did. Legally, you don't have to pay the interest. We waived the interest for a lot of patients who requested it.

Works and Lentz is a law firm and collection agency. They are used as a last resort by many physician's offices and hospitals in the Tulsa area. They have been around for many, many years. They are easy to work with if you make and keep your payment arrangement.

You should contact the hospital, doctor's office, or insurance company in order to get an itemized list of charges. Request your medical records. It's your right. If your insurance company paid any claims on your behalf you should have received an explanation of benefits in the mail. Compare the charges billed to insurance compared to the EOB from your insurance company. I used to send accounts to collection to Works and Lentz. We never sent itemized statements to them. Just the amount owed and contact information.

Works and Lentz is an attorney office. When you call them, they will tell you up front who they are. They aren't "posing" in order to be threatening or misleading. Are you serious when you talk about blowing a building up?  That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my life.  You cannot 'get back' at someone who has been a little stern with you by blowing them up or destroying their lives.  It sounds like you need to rethink your life choices.  You must be living a very sad life.

This is about the third time I've delt with this company....Works and Lentz.  It is ALWAYS for a medical bill with St. John's or it's affiliates.  This was for a bill I was making payments on with St. John, but St. John has a policy it has to be paid in full in 3 months, or they send it to these guys.  What really bugs me, is they call and say, in a very sweet tone, "this call is for XXXXXXX.  My name is XXXXX.  Please call me back at 918--592-2420.  They NEVER identify themselves as Works and Lentz or as an attorney's office or a debt collection agency.  I'm currently on a three month payment plan of $25 per month.  I actually paid MORE than that the past two payments.  However, the informed me at the beginning of this that because my bill was so high (over $2000 for medical) $25 a month would not cover it and in three months I'd have to renegotiate.  I was unemployed at the time, so $25 was generous.  Now they are calling me with no identification.  If they want to renegotiate, TELL ME!!  "Hello, this is XXXX from Works and Lentz.  We are calling to see if there is a change in your situation and we can renegotiate your terms on your medical debt."  HOW HARD WOULD THAT BE.  I hate dealing with them!  They are so difficult.  And it's MEDICAL.  It's not like I asked to have a a torn calf muscle and then an extremem allergic reaction to morphine!!!  It's not like I'm some deadbeat watching my new 60" TV I refuse to pay for!!!

Cindy Bingham called and said to call back. Did not leave a message as to who she was with or what the matter was that I should call her back about. This number does belong to Works & Lentz located in downtown Tulsa, OK. They are a law firm that handles debt collection for medical bills. Do not provide them any information over the phone; they are required by Federal and State law to provide you in writing proof of the debt, the original creditor, and details of the charges owed. If they tell you otherwise, they are lying. If they do not provide this information to you they cannot pursue you any further and if you communicate to them in writing that all communication should be via mail they cannot keep calling you. Again the law. Know your rights and don't ignore it...handle it before it affects your credit especially if it is something that is not legit. If it is, get the proof and pay the bill. :)

If they can't give the the original creditor and amount, you don't have to pay and they have to take it off your credit report.  OK State Law.  Another company tried this with me in the past.

I've been divorced since 2001, ex moved out of area in 2002 - got a collection call for him on my cell phone (which he never used & I have the same cell phone number for about 10-12 years now).  He lost his job Oct 2011 - the collection co did a skip trace which shows places lived and relatives & that's how they found me & my phone number.

I said when you find him let me know as child support is priority over your debt!!

This building at 1437 s boulder is a bank also they have no security you could walk in there and do a
terrorist attack like park in there parking garage and have it set on a timer and then just walk away its a 9 story building maybe a little taller and on a corner. calling all terrorists.

Forget the airports and high profile places like NY and LA and hit places like buildings in parts of the country where no one would expect that have parking garages and no security.

Went over to pay them at the Tulsa Ok office and gave them the money i owed and a lady came in and was still a BI*** and got an attitude with me and my husband like she was on some power trip because she works at a collection office.Someone needs to drive down there and drive into there parking garage and blow it up and they have no security we just walked in they have other offices including a bank inside and would be so easy for a terroist to blow up that building thats the targets they need to look for. This place has little to no security ok calling all terrorists to hit all these buildings with parking garages and lack of security.
