Just got a call from this number that had callerID of "U.S. Cellular" they will start with a script "want to invite you THERE to local hotel..." Since the call appears to be a local number, his script he is reading gives him away as not being a local caller. So I interrupted with "who are you, and where are you calling from?" Very evasive but caller finally admits he is with company VPG (don't ask what stands for, you get a nonsense answer--at least it wasn't obscene). When asked again where located, finally admits Branson, MO. So I followed with, "is this something to do with time share sales?" After about 20 seconds of denial and other diversionary tactics, spamster finally asks "do you own timeshares?" Bravo, time share spamster, you got me in my own web. Of course I am now obligated to answer with "No." You don't hear a click, but call has been terminated. Guess that accomplishes my initial task of getting them off the phone, just wish could get off their calling list. No, don't say register with Federal and state Do-Not-Call lists. I registered with both in 2006: lot of good that has accomplished.

Better Business Bureau for Southwestern MO shows VPG Marketing: 607 S State Highway 165, Suite #1, Branson, MO 65616 http://www.bransonvpgvacations.com. Though company is not rated by BBB, website url actually answers a whole lot of questions--"Branson vacations"??!

So if you get a call from what seems like a local number, especially a cell number, be wary. I was expecting a cell phone call from local utility which is how I got lured into answering.
