Had the same guy call my phone too. Has this been reported to any law enforcement agency? I did a reverse lookup and the number came back as a landline out of Cary, NC. There sounds like a lot of people have been harassed by this guy. His reverse number was 919 378-1439. What an a***ole.

Someone wrote that the 919 company is being sold info from an american company. I have an idea of who and where they are and who they are. I got calls and investigated. Gota be sure . I know this is frustrating but we need to stay calm but be.pro actie.. Tell any one and everyone including crredit companies,banks and any law inforcem ent if you get calls so we can find them stop them and push forward with taking america back to the top where we belong. WHOOAH.

Were being robbed. For the past tw.o months weve had a thousand a dollars come up missing without a trace.N

We got calls too from the 919 number and a number with a bunch of sevens. Neither asked us for any thing instead they gave us a kreepy message they said their coming. Now they just call and hang up. We tried a reverse search but the numbers are encrypted yesterday we called the number back but it was as if it were disconnected. Any body else getting calls have  a connection Bto the militaru

While at a restaurant, I received 50 text messages asking me to call (919) 249-5382.

1st text "please call 3473383326" 2nd text "HR.BLOCK MESSAGE. CALL 9192495382" from 15108725347. I called the 919 number back. This indian guy picked up & asked if I recieved a text message. I responded yes. Also asking him what his text message was regarding. His response was- I opened a credit card & purchased $3,000 worth of merchandise. First off, I dont own a credit card. Then, this indian lady told me to quit lying, u are being recorded & she threaten to call the cops. I yelled at her & said "i dont own any credit cards. Therefore, I couldnt have spent $3000 with any card. So call the cops & have me arrested."  MY advice. Go strait to your bank & do a credit report. You can find out if someone has stolen your ingenuity. Then, call your service provider & block them... if their asking for your info. Do yourself a favor & dont give it out. Dont get scammed by these fruads!

got about 70 messages from them in a 30 minute time frame, tried calling the number given and got a recording saying that all circuits were busy..ended up having to change my phone number because of this since it wouldnt stop.

They text me over 100 a hundred times

I live in Chicago and started getting text messages from this number, I have 15 so far. They are sending me a text every 7 minutes.  The number that the text is being sent from is: 1 (410) 000-001.  Then the next text is from 1 (410) 000-002.   Etc.  The text goes:

As someone else said, there is no way to reply, no way to block them and calling the 919 number back (from an untraceable number on my end) got me some guy in India who was rude beyond words, trying to tell me I owed money on a loan (I've never taken a loan out in my life).  

My cell number is unlisted.  I am on the Do Not Call list. I've had this phone for a year, never give out the # and this just started tonight.

Prior to the texts starting someone was calling my cell literally 8-10 times a day (A computer bot-call) asking for a name which is not mine and saying "if you are not ____ please hang up"  which I did, every time. They never let up. I never listened to the call.  Maybe after all those calls they got fed up and went to Phase 2 which is the text messages.

I have a friend who went thru this 3 months ago.  She did not have text messages on her phone and would end up with bills of $25 just for incoming text messages from these a***s.  The phone company erased the charges two months in a row and then told her they just couldn't keep doing that, and basically that she'd have to just end up buying a text message package.  

Two people have my cell number.

How is it there can be pages and pages here listing how harrassing and what a scam this is and yet the Atty. Generals or phone companies don't go after these people?  If the info and proof is here in black and white why are we victims of overseas people who don't have to follow the U.S. rules and regs? Isn't that why we have a governament and protection/fraud laws?

Ive gotten three in the last hour. Same phone number as everyone else has listed and I have ATT also.
Earlier today received a text message from an unrecognized number that said"im sending you a text message". I think once you open that up on your phone it initiates a virus.

4 TEXT MESSAGES IN 20 MINUTES. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!

Receiving unwanted text messages from First Merit saying call call 919-249-5382.  I'm calling First Merit bank and reporting them.

I have At&t and im getting theses messages every hour.

WTF is this?! It wont stop and its really starting to aggravate me!!!

Just received a text.  ATT here.  I am hoping it doesn't blow up like you are discribing.

My girlfrind and I both have sprint/nextel we keep getting texts from 919-249-5382 - dozens of texts per hour! Who are these people? Who the hell is Dear FirstMerit?

tested on two different address...on 1-8-2012...I did not return text.

I had the same non-stop texting.  I called T-Mobile, and they said that the filters are not stopping the problem.  She said Illinois has been infected by this text issue and that they are working on how to stop it.  After about 2 hours, the texts stopped on my phone.  Hopefully, everything is resolved, but there was nothing I could do.  My advice is to delete them as they come in so they don't take up too much memory.

I was outraged to get over 200 messages in one day from this number.  There has got to be something that can be done about all this spam???

I want to stop this non sence, 800 messages in one hour. Some attorny genaral has to be involved to stop this scamer.

Mine was so bad it got to the point where I was getting spammed texts one after another, so in about 20 mins i was getting 70 messages, what I did was just called my carrier and asked to block them. and since then I haven't received a message. Recommend if you don't have a android call your carrier.

I had about 200 messages in a 2 hour period.  T mobile was no help.  So, I went to android marketplace for my smartphone, and downloaded SMS Blocker.  I stops the text from "notifying" you and stops it from showing up as a text message.  Instead, it just showes the number of blocked messages.  

This is a better option than doing nothing.  Plus, TMobile told me i would not be charged for them

I got over 150 messages. I had to cancel my SMS service to make it go away. TMobile is saying its a known issue. Is there any one from other carriers who is facing this problem

My husband received over 60 of these text messages in under an hour!!  I tried emailing the email in the text but it was returned as undeliverable and when I called the phone number it wouldn't go through!  I don't get the scam!  he doesn't have an android phone or internet connection on his phone so I just turned off his text messaging for now.   I really don't understand what the point to all of this is!

My cell phone had a text message from first midwest. I have no Idea how they were able to do this since I have blocked the text messages on my phone.  It sounds like a scam or a bank loan agent that is not above the bubble!  I don't need this and I am on a no call list as well.  No excuse for this, robo call or not it is an illegal call.
