Hello everybody! I have called twice: the first is not nobody talking to me the second I could not catch and I did not exist when calling the number.. It's super weird.

Terry from the News and RECORD
called about offering me a 56% discount off the news stand rate.
Definite scam since we have no News and Record newspaper in our area.

They just called me, did not respond when I answered. Tried to call back and was told this number is disconnected.
My subscription to the News and Observer did run out as of this morning.

i got that call today and it was the Raleigh News and Observer- asking if I had received my free newspaper this morning. They were offering me 51% off the news stand price. He started to verify my info (phone #, etc) and I told him he could just stop, b/c I did not want to get off the phone and get a bill for a newspaper subscription - he never asked the question if I wanted to do it or not, just began trying to collect my info. He informed me that they were not going to give it to me for free?!!! what? I never asked for a free newspaper to be delivered to me - nor did I ask for this 3 month special rate. Very smooth transition from telling me about the deal to confirming it without asking a direct question. I had to raise my voice to get him to listen to what I was saying..sounded like a very shady sales practice to me. I'm not even sure it really was the N & O.

This number is likely a phone line in the closet so that all calls from this place go thru this line. That way you cannot call them back on purpose. This number will never be answered and has a standrad response.
It's how the conceal who they really are.
