Have received several calls from this obvious "Scam artist", attempting to obtain personal ID information. Have reported them to the N.C. Attorney General's Office and the Federal Consumer Protection Department for prosecution for violation of State and Federal "No Call" laws. I STRONGLY urge others who have received calls from this scam artist to report them so that they may be fined, jailed or otherwise punished for violating our privacy! The more complaints received, the greater the likelihood of getting rid of at least one more nuisance!

Got a call, answered it and heard music.  No one would reply.  I hung up.  This was at 5:00pm.

Our phone rings every day at about the same time in the morning.  I have never answered because I looked it up and it comes from the Raleigh/Durham area and I know no one from there.  I have tried to call the number back, but a recording says "the number is out of service".  I am on the national do not call list, but they keep calling anyway.  I wish I could do something about it.  It's an obvious person who is pulling a scam. I might try the zap idea from "Dave".

I got a call from them and SCREAMED as loud as I could . If everyone did that maybe it would cut down on the calls .Or try a whistle !! Tired of people callign like that . Do not call list doesn't do anything about it

THIS NUMBER CAME UP ON MY TV SCREEN WHILE MY WIFE WAS ON PHONE WITH NEIGHBOR.
WE HAVE A DAUGHTER IN RALEIGH THAT IS EXPECTING HER FIRST CHILD AND WE BECAME CONCERNED AND CALLED THE NUMBER BACK AND GOT THE NO LONGER IN SERVICE MESSAGE.  IF THIS IS A SCAM THEY ARE ALSO SCAMMING A PHONE SERVICE PROVIDER SOMEWHERE.

I received a phone call just like the rest of the recipents from the 919 342-2383.  I had just gotten out of hospital and was taken by surprise so I gave out my Medicare number.  What do I do now as I now see this is a scam.

I got this call as well . Now listen up folks if you have a police whistle USE it maybe ti will stop these calls . If not yell as loud as you can .

I recieved a call about recieving a diabetic meter, on my medicare insurance.

I called back the #, and was told it was no longer in service.

I have not recieved a meter

Will NEVER answer a phone call from this number...heard an ethnic voice say, "Well, I guess they don't want to answer."  RIGHT!!!

So far received 2 calls from this number, no message left.  Only says N. Carolina call on ID box.

Has anyone tried the Free utility from www.phonetray.com? I am trying it now. I can plug my phone line into my computer modem and it allows me to configure a prompt to "Zap" incoming calls (manual or automatic) based on the the CID or if it is Out of Area, Private Caller, etc. The Zap button will play a "disconnected" recording (or 20 other options) from the phone company. And there is more!

I am keeping my fingers crossed! Waiting for that dang loan counseling company to call again :)

Have had several calls from 919-342-2383 and do not answer when I see unknown numbers on caller ID. Why do we even have a national DO NOT CALL list if these people continue to call anyway? How can this be stopped?

This voice on the phone asked if I was checking my blood sugar in the mornings and I asked why I should and she then  asked if I was a diabetic. I told her no but guess what, I am a nurse soooo I don't need to order any DME supplies etc. or give any money over the phone. At that point she just hung up on me.... Nice touch, I'm sure I'd look forward to her harassment again soon. I too have put my numbers on the "Do not call list" and it's like spitting in the wind. I also have caller ID but I answer depending on the mood I'm in, sometimes I just enjoy messing around with them...

Received call from "Calvin" with "Diabetic Support" and he asked for me by name then asked to speak to the diabetic in the home. Advised there is no diabetic in this home and he said "God Bless". As I was asking how he got my number he hung up.When I called the number back it is not in service and 411.com has it as a landline in the Raleigh area. A search provided by 411.com came back with no name found for this number. This is the 2nd call from this group but the first time a different number was used. That person stated they were responding to a questionaire filled out at a doctor's office. When I told him I had not filled out any questionaire he hung up. Also a search by name produced no results. I will be contacting the authorities about this obvious identity theft attempt.

same ole crap as always, call, machine picks up and nothing is said so I delete as usual.

Have had multiple calls from "Diabetic Support". Asked to speak to me by name. He wanted to offer diabetic supplies as part of Medicare. I asked to speak to his supervisor. He replied he was not available. I asked that my number / name be removed from their database, as this was my fourth request. He hung up.

I've been getting the same calls for several weeks now. Here is some more specific info I found from the BBB on this phone number.

"Your BBB has received several telephone calls from consumers living in the Pueblo area reporting that they have received solicitation calls from a company offering a FREE blood kit test for diabetes.

The Catch: the consumer must provide the caller with their social security number and insurance information. This is clearly an attempt at identify theft.

Unfortunately, none of the consumers were able to give the name of the company, but one did capture the phone number on their caller ID. It is (919) 342-2383 emanating from the Raleigh/Durham North Carolina area. When called, there is a recording stating that the number is no longer in service."

I put my number on the no-call list and the number of calls increased about 75%.

Someone from "Diabetic Support". Asked  (well he "asked" to speak to the diabetic of the house. He said good news we are going to send you the new meter where you don't have to prick your finger. I told him mine are covered by insurance. He said he knew that and would I please let him talk He made a comment about "you're on Medicare, aren't you?"  I said yes and he proceed with vague information about me and ask to verify my Medicare number and then closed with the meter would be shipped soon.

By the way, I tried to call it back (blocking my number first, of course) and got the same message that it is not in service. I don't think they should be allowed to call that way. (Even if they are using an autodialer).It is one things if they are unlisted. But they shouldn't be able to have a number display that is out of service or blocked from calls.

Get these calls every day or so. No message.

I am trying to figure out how when we are on the no-call list, these calls even get through
