Another robobdialed call with no one on the other end when the ans. mach. picks up: A VIOLATION of FTC Regulations.  We don't OWE ANYONE ANYTHING, so don't know HOW they got our number or WHY.  SO SICK of these calls!  Get at least ONE, daily.

This company calls my cell phone repeatedly for a person who must have had my number previously. I have told them to stop, tat this is no longer this person's number; but they still call.

How to do? Actually messing with collectors can be fun and profitable IF you want to press them to violate FDCPA numerous times. This tactic assumes you have the time, patience and an attorney willing to help you sue them later.

The only way to force them to stop calling is to send them a letter demanding them to stop. The demand MUST be in writing.

Numerous calls... usually ignore these but reaching the point for some sort of action. Any suggestions???

I received a message that these folks needed to speak with me about a "personal business matter."

Collection agency Phishing for "live" answers; Shows up in caller ID for Cary     NC and computer asks for "name" to hold. A collector then answers and when pressed gives that he is with ARS National and to have "name" call back at 1-800-232-1258 xt 1257. This will be referenced for this number also- BTW great database! I use a phone with a mute button to put them on hold, and pop the number in the database for a fast look see- used to do it with reverse phone search on the "other book site".
