they call twice in a row at a time - very annoying

They sound suspicious to me.  They keep calling and don't leave messages.  I picked it up last week and they asked for someone named "Donna" living at an address in the community but certainly not mine.  I told them they have the wrong number.  They still keep calling.  I just picked it up and they wanted me to stay on the phone until they correct the info and close it out.  That was the red flag to me that something isn't right here.  I told them its not my problem they have the wrong number -- I'm not staying online until you sort out your problems.  And promptly hung up.

I recently agreed to participate in a study and I just missed a call from them today.  I had just gotten into my car to head back to work from lunch and the phone rang in there for about half of a ring and then I missed it.  Might have called while the phone was on silent in my pocket and only picked up the tail end of it as the car's Bluetooth picked it up.  I gave them my information, so that's how they got my number.  Seems legitimate, so I wouldn't get too upset about calls.  Just answer next time and let them know if you haven't agreed to participate in a study.

It would be nice if they would just quit calling.  They call over and over and over.

I am getting multiple calls from this number (9195416000) with no message left on the answer machine.  I went to their web site and left a message asking them to quit calling.  It has not happened.  What can one do to prevent these calls in the future?  

They called the Doctors office I work in and wanting the billing dept. They stated they were the Human Services for the government and in need of release records. I stated; I do not give out this information of the billing dept. I can take phone number and give the number to them. She stated; I am calling from a call center. I also stated; which patient are you needing information of. She got irate with me and stated she would just have her manager call. She also stated; never gone through this before. I stated; Sorry but I do not give out that information. And she hung up on me.

You are 100% correct :-) My wife has worked for RTI for the past 10 years. I don't know why you would be getting phone calls from them as their initial contact is with lead letters sent out in the mail (USPS). A week or two later a field interview will come out to screen you with a handheld computer. If you are screened in you are selected for an interview which consists of a variety of questions regarding drug, tobacco, substance and alcohol use. Everything is confidential and the only reason anyone would have your phone number is because you gave it to the field interview to contact you another time, or if you are a neighbor of someone the field interviewer has been trying to contact for some time. Either way, the only way anyone gets your phone number is if you give it to the field interviewer.Their website is http://www.rti.org/.

This is a legitimate call - at least as far as I'm concerned - I completed a survey (for which they paid me) a month ago, and this is them calling to check up that the survey was carried out fairly, etc.

Glad to see it's the research company calling.  My family participated in a national survey for the US Govt.  They said I would recieve a follow-up call but I've never answered the ongoing calls coming from this number.

they want my daughter to take a survey about her college degree and pay her $20.

this RTI outfit calls me several times a day, on my cellphone, although I am on do not call list.  How to get rid of them??

this company calls sometimes 3-4 times a day including Sundays.  I don't answer phone calls that I don't recognize and only return calls if they leave a message (well, maybe I will).  This caller NEVER leaves a message.   This jerk company (I've found it on line) is some kind of survey company and I have actually written them to stop the harrassment.  Does anyone know how to block them?

I get a call from this number daily; at all different hours.  No message and I do NOT answer phone when I don't know area code or strange phone number.  If they leave message I MAY return call.  Am also on do not call list.  Go figure.

They are a research company, RTI RESEARCH I believe, think medical research. So if you've ever taken a telephone survey or expressed interest in being a person interested in a medical research program for money... you're probably on the list. They do sell their contact lists, so I've heard. You can get their direct number via internet, contact them on their business line for investors, etc and YOU WILL BE REMOVED!! IF enough people cause them a hassle maybe it will stop. They want your info, give it to the right people, like the CEO'S. MAKE THEIR DAY!!

I get a call from this number every day. I need it to stop, I have better things to do than answer an annoying phone call.

Just call the number and talk to the operator and tell them to place your phone on the no call list. They will transfer you to a person who will do that.......

Received call from 919-541-6000 on May 4th at 10:11AM and I answered and woman asked for a Brian and I asked her to repeat name and then told her she had wrong phone number. Have not received any more calls from them.

I work at a university and was getting called from this number on a daily basis, and finally answered.  It was a reminder call that a survey (a legitimate survey that we've been working on for some time) deadline was approaching and asking if we had any questions.  This is a big NSF/NIH survey of graduate students that's used for ranking universities.  This particular survey is "Survey of Graduate Students and Postdoctorates in Science and Engineering".  A breakdown of the survey can be found on the NSF web site: http://www.nsf.gov/statistics/srvygradpostdoc/

So, if you work at a university, this may be a legitimate call for you.

BEWARE!.. Collection Agency!  Received a call and answered. Spoke with a gentleman. They were asking for "someone" that doesn't live at the residence. I get lots of calls from other Collection Agencies that ask for this same "person". This connects this company with the title of a "COLLECTION AGENCY".

I took a survey about drug and alcohol use from a company called Triangle Research Institute or something like that.  The survey was for the federal government and I am a poor college student, so I did it for the thirty dollars.  The call was from the institute and was asking about the performance of the person (their employee) that administered the survey

Received several calls.  Just googled & it looks like I'm not the only one.  Called back to be removed.  Don't know who sold them my # as I don't give it out other than family & friends.
