that call is not from a telemarketer...do you have family/relatives overseas?  If not, they might have missed dialed your number.  It's an overseas call made thru the internet.

It's a scam from someone in Nigeria.

Got three calls starting at 2:15 AM 5/20/2008.  A drunken middle eastern man started screaming obscenities at me.  He called back 2 more times with more of the same & then I unplugged the phone.

Maybe they should get a new hobby

Silence when I answered. They called at 7:09 PM on a Sunday.

I think now that my call was an internet call from abroad. Two minutes after the mystery phone call I got a high-priority, rush email from a business associate in Australia, who probably placed the call before realizing it's Sunday night here.

Skype uses those kinda numbers. Sometimes they come as restricted or 0000012345 or 919-555-111

I dont think it's a mistake call, they called me today at 1:11 PM.
And it won't let you call back. I think their scammers. My boyfriend got a call like this last week. And then A few months ago they tried to get his Bank info. My suggestion is not to answer and they quit calling, because everyone I ignored they only called once.

It's a service used to make long distance calls. My client uses it and I kept missing their calls (a number like that, I ignored it). Finally I figured it out, So you might want to answer that call...

Received a call from this number it's from a person who uses Skype as a phone provider. This is an VoIP provider. could have been anyone from someone you know to someone who is scamming you

Dang, Mystic thats not true... We got a call on my cell a few months ago and they tried to scam us by "trying" to get our bank info. And then that number called me today and it wasn't anyone "not" to be suspicious of. So I suggest to everyone one out there, ignore the calls. So even if it is the SKYPE service [which I also Have] it doesnt always mean that it's a friend on the other line it could and most likely is a scammer.

The Number shows as 919-555-1111 - This is a GENUINE Number when called from SKYPE...same with 0000123456 ALSO another SKYPE Number.

I was called by a friend and their number showed as 919-555-1111 - it was a real friend and a real call but they used SKYPE from their LapTop to make their call to my Cellphone.

Nothing Suspicious...it's just a number..

i'm a skype customer and some friends are, too. Usually when they call they are unavailable numbers. Today I missed a call with the 919 555 1111 number.It looked odd. I sure hope it was one of my friends. If it was one of my friends, the first time this number has appeared on my phone.

Forgot to mention I'm also a skype customer.

I called some family members and they asked me how I became 919 555 1111 because usually when I call I'm an unknown number.  My folks almost didn't answer because they thought I was a telemarketer.  I had not changed my number.  When I was talking there was an echo with a lot of delay in the background and my folks kept asking if I was there.  I could speak to them but we all kept getting confused.  My folks ended up calling me back at my real number and then our connection was better.

I also googled the number and found a website with a picture of a switch board

When I call people on a normal telephone system, I have been told that there phone says they are being called from 919-555-1111.  I called them on my computer where I use Skype, an extremely popular computer phone system.  Millions of people use it.  That may be happening to you also.  When I call a cell phone on Skype, the receiver's phone says "unknown number"

Oh Yea, the call was ID'd as from North Carolina

Obvious scratchy call from non-USA native male voice...left voicemail, said he needed someone in my profession from this state to work immediately.  Hard to discern call back number in vmail...certainly wouldn't call it anyway.  This is gotta stop!!!!  What is our nation's comm commerce coming to???>?>

I received a call from this number.  Caller ID says: Dir Assist NC.  Someone wanting to order items and have them shipped to "West Africa".  I immediately said we don't ship there.... thanks anyway.  SCAMMERS !!

Got a call from this number. A man saying his name was Ahmed said he was calling from the online dating service I signed up for to confirm my credit card information. But the thing is, I've never signed up for a dating service in my entire life. And if I had, I would never give my credit card number to a complete stranger on the phone. Do people still fall for this? Why is this sort of thing still attempted? Ridiculous.
