Tired of this number continuing to call my elderly mother and also our home. I can tell it is coming from a cell phone in NC. If these calls are so important, messages need to be left.....

I keep a record of all calls who are calling me, especially these types of calls. I have added it to my list thanks to the people here. My panasonic phone which I purchased last year has a "phone block" feature. It holds only 30 numbers. More than 40 Different numbers have called me just since last December.
I can only block 30 phone numbers plus Unavailable #s. The phone itself is very inexpensive. I paid $49 for 2 phones with one an answering machine even though I have voice mail. The call block works by disconnecting the number after one ring. My tv also puts the number on the screen so I don't even have to get up to answer the phone. If someone calls more than 3 times, I file a complaint with the FTC. (ftc.gov) I don't know if it works though. Hope this is helpful I don't know if other phone brands has this feature, but I wish it would hold at least 50!

It's probably one of those numbers that can only make calls, but can't receive calls. I received a call today from that number while we were out. They didn't leave a message so was searching to find out who it was.

Unwanted calls from this number. Do not know anyone in Raleigh area or never heard from this number before. Scamming Diabetes supplies.
| Eliza44 2012-05-21 17:34:31 Unknown |
Multiple calls from this #, I do not know # and do not answere but is something we should not have to deal with.
If fines and/or jail terms were strict enough the word would be passed and this stuff would stop.

Jeffrey Goss, you should never give out your social security number to any one, I don't
care who they are, or where they're calling from. like Barb said, contact your social security
office. to FCC and FTC office also.

I received a call from this number (253) 382-9083 at 7:43PM on 5/9/2012. Also (253) 382-9904 on 4/30/2012at 3:38PM. Seems like they pass our phone numbers around to other Marketers. Since I started loging these calls, I now am up to 106 Calls.

Received a call today and she asked to speak to the diabetic in the house. No one in our house is diabetic, so I thought it was strange, but now that read these other posts, I see it must be a scam.

I never answer calls if I don't recognize the number - too many shysters calling with temporary 'phony' phone numbers.
A note on Unwanted Calls. Our world is changing. Sadly - The 'Do Not Call' list only works with Legitimate Telemarketers but unfortunately does not apply to: Surveys, Charities and of course, Criminals don't follow any laws. These Criminals have various kinds of ploys. Some hide behind Surveys and Charities and of course the two big ones are Phony Debt Collectors and Low Interest offers. The only way to avoid these calls is DO NOT EVER RESPOND because if you do respond you will not only continue to be harassed by the same caller but your number will be sold to other 'Harassers' now that they know you are a live Human Being with a real phone number. Also the Criminals/Shysters only use a number for a short period and then change it to avoid being caught nd they change their number more often than we change our underwear. Another sad note is that even if you do respond to a legitimate Survey or Charity - you will be placed on a 'Sucker List' and your number will be passed To & Fro for all to exploit you, including the criminals. I also never respond to any political calls anymore, because I don't want to give any politician the knowledge of my concerns just so He/She can LIE TO ME in the future by telling me 'What I want to hear', because - Honest Politicians already 'know' the Needs and Concerns of The People that He/She is representing. Again, our world has changed and responding to any of these callers only places us at risk for 'Who knows what?" At this time in history I have not discovered a way to 'AVOID' ALL HARASSMENT and so far the only way to avoid ongoing harassment is -Caller ID- and/or a phone that can 'Block' callers who will not stop. Some of these phones also have a Programming Feature that will BLOCK Calls which do not have a number like 'Out Of Area' or 'Private Caller" and is well worth the Investment. We can no longer 'Trust' ANYONE "Who we don't know' that is calling us.

Your SS# opens up a lot of avenues for people to open accounts in your name on the internet. I would contact the 3 credit bureaus and tell them your SS# has been stolen. They are Equifax, Experian and Transunion. You should be able to put an alert on your number. When a credit company pulls your report to open an account, they should see the alert. I retrieved these numbers from the internet, and it says they are valid as of June, 2011. If you have problems with the numbers, look up each bureau on the web and find the site link. This will display a lot of options you do not see on the home page. There should be a customer service or "contact us" link. If you do get the dreaded computer voice, just say "agent" or "Customer Service." I hope this helps. Good luck to all. Never, ever give your SS# over the phone unless you are the one initiating the call !!!

Scam caller phishing for a real human being to scam and sell my number to other scammers. They make up all kinds of questions just to be sure you are someone they and others can call in the future.

Caller keeps calling and hangs up. Sometimes wants our doctor names. Per doctor do not give. It's a scam!
| Sharon 2012-04-24 18:49:00 Prank Call |
Have been called by a so called diabetic supply co for over a year. Repeatedly asked them to stop, but to no avail. Matter of fact, the more i protested, the more often they called! Never got the name of company, but the caller (male and female) almost always sounded Indian.
Anyway, when they called 10 times by 11am yesterday, i called local police. I filed a harrasment complaint, and he instructed me to have my phone co. block the number and register again on the national do not call list.
So, i did all this. Now, today, got a call from Raliegh, NC (the # on this forum) and googled it. Guess what? Apparently they just use different numbers to get through to us.
I'll have to repeat the procedure recommended by the police officer again and until these annoying calls stop!
I hopes this helps someone else...
