Just got a call from this number. Claiming to be a senior atty for the Federal Legislation for Unsecured Loans. Sounded like the call originated in India. However, he could not give me much information. He had my soc, place of work, and bank name. He gave me a California number. I haven't tried it yet. He claimed up front that it was a criminal lawsuit for check fraud. Then later claimed it was for a pay-day loan(i've never had one). My bank keeps such meticulous records-i'm sure i can prove i never had one. So, he goes on to say that it is a federal lawsuit(i advised him it had to be civil for this type). And being federal, it was being filed in California. I laughed at that. I've been in the mortgage business a long time; even taught consumer financial education law. It is a scam. I live in Texas. If a company wants to try to get a judgment; they must file it in the same state in which you live in; for unsecured debt. And being in Texas, non judgment state, they cannot collect it anyway unless i own property.
When they call, answer the phone. Get their name, address, name of firm, state of bar license. Get the amount of the (fake lawsuit). Get the attorney's name who filed it(he couldn't tell me that). Get the state/county it's being filed in. Get as much information from them as you can. If their business exists, contact your State Attorney General's office and the Atty General office of the state in which their company resides. Report them to the Federal Trade Commission.

I did not answer the call from this number. I called this number that appeared on my caller ID. I received a recorded message stating this number is no longer in service.

I received three calls from 919-912-7991, which some how is not a good phone number.  The guy I spoked to name was Richard.  The first time he called, I pretended not to be myself.  He became frustrated when I would give him another phone number, than I hung up on him.  He called back, this time he was angry and I told him to send me a letter if he was calling to collect a debt.  I asked for his contact information so that my my attorney could contact him, he asked me for my attorney's information so he could fax him the information.  I told him to send any and all request via U. S. Postal service.  The third time he called, I didn't answer the phone, so he left a message.  The message said, " there will be officer coming to pick you up and bring you to court, so enjoy your last day before going to court.

they are a scam. don't give them anything. you should call the ftc, the state atty general and local law enforcement. they also go by jason reed and associates as well as a long list of others. check out these other numbers they use and you can see what kind of people they are. 343-729-0397 and 949-743-1049. there are links on those to yet more numbers. abc has done a story on these guys. it is all a big scam. they want your bank info and money. don't give them anything!!!

i get calls from this # all the time, never leave a msg and there is no answer when i call the # back

The individual identified himself with The United Nations Fraud Investigations. What a bunch of horse do-do. NC authorities need to look into this scam.

I got a call from these nuts twice today with a story very similar to JScott3863. Telling me that I was going to be sued and that the hearing was the following day at 11:00 am.  He also had the last 4 of my social as well as my bank account information, but as I questioned him more as to the validity of the debt, he grew frustrated.  I also called the number back and got the same US Cellular message. What the heck is going on?

They called my job. They called the wrong extension, and the call had to be transferred to me. There is a horrible connection (phone sounded like they were frying chicken). Then I hear a Middle Eastern accent asking me if I am me and trying to verify my Social Security number. They also state that they were from a Law Firm.

Got a call from this number. Caller hung up as soon as I answered. A bit of digging online reveals that US Cellular owns this entire exchange in the Raleigh area, but does not yet offer service... anyways, upon calling the number, I get a "CL22" message that the number is not in service. Weird stuff!

Called at 10:48 this morning and said the he was Officer James Frankenstein(I am not making it up) said he was from the FBI and that I need to call him on an urgent matter. Then he called my cell phone pretended no to be me and he said he was Office James Frankenstein from a Pennsylvania agency and that if I did no give them the work number they were on the way to arrest me at work.. If they call again I will take it up with the State Police and Federal Government. Since both were mis-represented. This man did have a foreign accent but not a German accent.

Called me early this morning asking me by name and told me that I was being sued. Claimed that I had a court date the very next day and that someone was coming to pick me up at my residence or work to head to the "hearing." He to had a middle eastern accent.

This guy keeps calling from this number, says his name is Mike Anderson from ACS American Credit Services and that this is my last chance, so I need to call their hotline number 213-232-4392 and of course that number does not work either.  At first the calls were just to my cell phone, but now he even calls my work.  Any ideas on how to stop this?

Called this morning at 7:45am and asked for me by name.  He then asked how I was this morning.  I asked who it was and told him (by the way, he had a Middle Eastern accent) that he just woke me up and the next thing I hear is beep..beep..beep.  He hung up on me.  Sounded like he wanted to sell me something.

I just received a call from 919-912-7991, i did not answer, but when i tried to call back it was some kind of answering service for united cellular and that they were no longer in service. not sure who they are or what they want

Upon calls from this # 941-791-0946, I have also received calls from this #
also, 1-919-912-7991 they have called my work # and says nothing, this has
been going on since they could not get the funds out of my account, they
have called at least 20 times on my cell phone.

Call us everyday.  Return the call, US Celluar recording states this number is out of service. We are not at home when they call.

I just did a reverse look up on this. It was United Cellular. Does anyone know what they are (besides a royal pain//)

Whomever this is, they call my cell phone but hang up when I answer.  They have called at least 3 times per day for the past three days. Usually calls of this type are from a fake collection agency trying to extort or scam money from people.
